  1. Did your autopilot stabilization channels disengage?
  2. BTW what determines your rank and medals? Rank i imagine is just a factor of your total flight hours but the medals seem to be random. Ive received medals in game when all I did was take off and die. Doing exceptionally well in a mission doesnt seem to mean anything tho.
  3. I thought I heard hints of it being demo at the June (E3, i think) conference but I might be mistaken on that. Also rumored TM Hotas Warthog will make an appearance there.
  4. trackir is the best purchase you can make after a good joystick. Its very definitely worth the money.
  5. Im having trouble assigning my Cougar microstick as an axis. In the control panel I moved the rudder axis to the unused 9 and 10 axis setting and the microstick to 5 and 6. But when I go to the viewer it still shows a picture of the rudder and none of the axis move when I move the microstick.
  6. You probably need a better joystick. I had my pots exchanged out for hall sensors and it made things much smoother. Additionally, I find it easier to employ rockets in Flight Director mode so I can make small corrective inputs without fighting the autopilot for directional input. Im no pro at rockets but that has helped me tremendously. I always have my rocket salvos set to medium. 2 rockets at a time can pretty much guarantee no hit but full bursts waste through them really fast. I also dont like to use them on targets like the BMP or M2 because they can launch their own missles by the time your in range and their gun is equally deadly.
  7. Im pretty sure the slew control is bugged as far as controlling it goes. Computer assist of slewing is a seperate but related issue which as ZQ states, I can understand initial computer assist but I refuse to believe that real life pilots have to fight where it locks (ground stabilizes)
  8. Well this is what Im seeing. Training mission under optimal conditions Im getting maybe half of the advertised range.
  9. Ok I figured that but half the problem I refer too is the problem with moving the seeker once ground stabilized. I have to struggle to get the seeker to move in the right direction. (I press right and it goes left for a second or if I press down it goes up for a second before moving in the correct direction) This takes precious extra seconds when trying to target on the fly and get out of there. Not to be a pain in the ass but isnt that being a bit technical? If the seekers range is 1/3 of the missiles capacity to reach a target, than its range isnt really as far as the book says it is now is it. If you cant lock a target, then what good is the missile?
  10. but if you need to reinstall FC2 for some reason would you have to reinstall LOMAC?
  11. Im using a 50" plasma at 1080P resolution and I cant make out any detail of any vehicle until Im about .5mi to target which gives only a couple of seconds to take aim or become dead meat. Its probably realistic but I didnt have as much problems in the Blackshark. At the same time my closure rates weren't at 200knots either.
  12. Havent tried using mouse. Its currently assigned to one of my hat switches. As far as zooming in, there's no way to differentiate from other targets when they are clustered unless you already know exactly which one it is. Everything just appears as dots.
  13. Ive been playing the A-10 campaign and so far have not got past mission 2. Shilkas, tho dangerous, as you said can be successfully engaged and Ive done it a few times. Strela seems a bit more difficult because the AGM missile is close to useless. One you have to get so close just to see it that they have already launched 2 or 3 missles. Secondly is the apparently common problem with slewing AGM once you have ground stabilized. Locking the missile near the target more often than not slews it off the target and onto a nearby building. I have been able to engage the sam with AGM but it is so difficult with the controls and visibility and launch range, much more often then not they have already launch multiple weapons at me first. Your basically rolling the dice then. As far as leaving them alone, thats not really possible when several are placed around your main target zone. At least for the slewing issue, it surprises me that something like that can go unnoticed after "extensive" testing and quality control. Range of the missiles, while you say is more realistic, even on a MBT is only 1/3 of its advertised range. What good is that? After a few hours of flying, and until I get good at free fall bombs which is apparently a lot harder than it seems it should be, the only useful weapon on it is rockets and the gun. P.S. The manual even states that a skilled pilot can successfully drop bombs on target 50% of the time. Hardly seems worth it your not destroying buildings or bunkers.
  14. Whats up with the AGM missles on the A-10? The advertised range is 3miles and 6 miles for the infrared version but I cant get them to lock up until 1-1.5miles to target. Additionally when I first hit the lock button to stabilize the sensor, using the slew is not operating right. I have to fight it to make it slew in the correct direction and even then if I have right on the target it doesnt get valid lock until im nearly on top of it. Also, how can you engage a SAM without getting that close? You cant see the vehicles until your right next to them and even with labels turned on, it doesnt identify the threat until your well within their range. At least on KA-50 you have a shkval that you can identify a target while your still out of range.
  15. I had a problem where I DL a target, had the wingman engage, then when targets were destroyed DL a second set of targets and same thing. But instead of going to my second DL target group, he decides to engage somewhat nearby targets from the first group. Is there a way around that? How do you get him to engage multiple downloaded target areas?
  16. I added this line in my cfg file and now I can hear flare ejection and outside damage. Its not loud but you can hear it. sound.cockpit_world_volume = 25
  17. I run at 6-1-2 with both sides selected.
  18. Hi all. Made my first attempts this weekend to fly BS on 104th server. Maybe I just couldnt get the help I needed but several times I flew the entire route on my Abris and there wasnt one thing for me to shoot. Everything was already dead. The mission briefing doesnt tell you anything besides going to WP2 and killing the units there. I was supposedly in a flight with 3 ships, none of which appeared on my abris and the only comments anyone made to me was to open mission editor. Course I dont even know the name of the mission. The only time I had a single clue as to what to do is when the server reset and there were instructions for the BS pilots. The only other messages I saw were about killing AWACs. So it looks like either Im clueless and need some help from experienced guys, or I should just stick with SP campaign.
  19. After the new patch I jumped on multiplayer for the first time which was great. However I noticed that when your chopper gets hit by anything either rounds or missles there is no sound. If you cant see where the rounds are coming from the only way you know your getting hit is watching your aircraft systems fail and sometimes seeing parts fall off your chopper. Edit: also no sound for flare dispensation
  20. that exhaust looks soo fake
  21. /agree My biggest concern is that rightfully, the F-15 and Su-27 are going to be popular aircraft to fly and A2A is their sole purpose.
  22. Yes but your trim (dampening channels) should never be off in the first place. If your talking about having FD on, as I stated in my last post it disengages any steering commands which the autopilot needs to hold heading in both hover and heading holds or route modes. If you want to use either of those features, simply disengage FD. Blackshark FD is much different than fixed wing FD which is simply an extension of the regular autopilot modes.
  23. In addition to that last note, for significant improvements to be made to a game engine or feature list, often times you have to break away from campatibility to implement it. It could just as easily turn out that A-10C will rather be intended to be compatible with future generations of the sim rather than previous generations. This equally makes as much sense as backwards compatibility.
  24. My question is if the export.lua is the same as in BS in that you can take the same type of data and export it in the same way or does it use different coding format?
