Something else I should add is have you tried comparing what its like looking for enemies on the free Mariana Isl. map in comparison to the Normandy map? I don't know if its just me, but I find spotting planes on Mariana Isl easier. For anyone that wants to practice and get better at spotting, again it is very easy to setup in the mission editor. Simply put the specific planes you want to practice identifying in a large continuous looping pattern with a set speed/elevation. You can then fly around them knowing exactly where they are and at what specific elevation to start getting use to being able to tell the difference between the various planes from different angles and distances. Don't forget to make all the planes the same coalition so that you can observe without the distraction of being shot at, unless you want that of course.

Well one thing we can say with absolute certainty regarding what ED has been up to lately.... Night OPs! I agree, that makes the most sense to me. Seems logical that dynamic missions would be the needed building blocks for a dynamic campaign.

+1 @rcjonessnp175, more capable/dynamic infantry is what we need for CA in both its modern and WWII versions. I am truly amazed at the progress of the SC deck crew. You can see that they added more than just night wands. The Ai appear less mechanical as they go about their task IMO, and I haven't had a look in the ME myself yet, but my understanding is we should see less Ai mishaps on deck in SC missions now even as it continues to improve. And it's not difficult to see the total immersion they are pursuing, and the huge strides in advancement already achieved. Anyone interested in Navy ops in a fighter jet cannot miss the level of immersion the SC brings. Can't wait to see these changes come to ground units.

Keybind to change speed of autopilot and cruise control
Callsign112 replied to Wychmaster's topic in Wish List
Thanks, I just wanted to make sure I understood you correctly, and agree that would be a nice addition. -
Now that the SC deck crew have seen an update to their animations/movement, I am hoping that we see this improvement make it to infantry in general. I also hope we see more infantry types, especially for WWII where currently infantry are unable to deal with armored units.

Something that is easy enough for anyone to try regardless of the system you have, mine is pretty low end, is make a simple mission where you follow the lead Ai plane of your choice. Have the Ai go slow enough to make it easy to catch and make the starting distance between the two planes at least 1 mile (1.6 km). As you get closer to the Ai plane, intermittently pause the SIM to note the level of detail you can see before taking a measurement of the distance between. Continue doing this until satisfied. If you compare the level of detail you see in the SIM to real world objects at the same distance, I think you will find it to be pretty realistic.

Question about starting Supercarrier
Callsign112 replied to ertert's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Sorry for the late response. You may have already got one of the flyable modules to use with the SC, but it is not required to use the SC. I have made missions using the SC without owning any of the flyable modules for it. You can simply populate the SC with Ai aircraft and watch them launch and recover on the SC. It can be a lot of fun setting up an entire battle group and have it attack/defend threats. With the most recent update to the SC, I will definitely be getting back to using the SC in more missions. -
+1 and I agree. Have had a lot of fun just cruising around the various maps in a vehicle. Even when you know the area the map is supposed to represent and you can tell what's missing, or isn't quite right, it is still interesting to experience the map detail from the ground level. I think this wish is likely to become a reality once the core updates are completed.

Keybind to change speed of autopilot and cruise control
Callsign112 replied to Wychmaster's topic in Wish List
+1... Just for my own understanding, you would like the existing keys used to accelerate/decelerate (W/S), to also be able to adjust the set speed in autopilot/cruise control? -
Ditto what @Wychmaster said.

+1 Thanks ED.

Will next WWII aircraft module made by ED be released in 2022?

My apologies if I misunderstood your meaning. Don't get me wrong, I think everyone would like outstanding issues to be fixed. -

Its the gift that keeps giving, but don't tell your friends that yeah well that would certainly work wouldn't it. Your mission on the MP server is to deliver paratroopers to the drop zone. -

Ha... Ha... Ha! I acknowledge that there are outstanding bugs/features that should be addressed. I am also certain that ED is well aware of this, and that they are working diligently at bringing this community the very best combat simulator. Yes one could argue that there are too many EA modules, but I can honestly say that out of the 17 modules/maps I own the right to use there isn't a single one, EA or otherwise, that I am not enjoying. Yes I want all the modules to be as complete and accurately modeled as possible, but I am also enjoying them in the now. If anyone can point me in the direction of a better more complete P-51D simulation, I'm interested! How about a Thunderbolt, an Anton, or even the EA I-16? But please stop suggesting if ED announced tomorrow that the Hellcat will be EA at the end of August that everyone is going to say.... oh no not another EA module, when we all know that wouldn't be the community response. -

It gives it that real lived-in feeling I think. Now if damage to the house and surrounding structures was visible after being hit by the ground/air forces as they move through an area is modeled, then we can say its dynamic. Edit: In other words, that is the way it looked just before the bullets/bombs dropped. -
I would say your missing two great planes, but I don't own the Mosquito yet. I consider the DCS P47 to be one of the WWII highlights of the SIM... But the Corsair/Pacific theater thing is going to be like a whole new game for me.

What I remember seeing were more closeup screenshots of sugarcane fields, farms, and the like. The update was accompanied with the following detail: "Except for the presence of a naval administration on the island, pre-war Guam was basically a land of farmers and fishermen living a simple and peaceful life. The US territory of Guam and the Northern Islands, which are part of the Japanese World War I mandate, will be included in the initial Early Access release. A number of Japanese settlements and local Chamorros regions, as well as agricultural pastures, predominantly sugar cane fields, are visible in the Development Screenshots. The task of creating this map to match the visual quality and accuracy of the modern Marianas map includes new texturing to most of the land masses and creating countless new objects. It is a large task that is making steady progress and we look towards your comments." Where I hope we see more improvement in terms of map technology in DCS is the ability to use ground vehicles/forces better. I know from using Normandy for example, there are a lot limitations in terms of ground unit interaction. Its not all just to do with the infantry/vehicles themselves, the map has to also include the ability to have ground units interact with it. That is a really good point. Wouldn't it be lovely to receive a surprise announcement that they were getting ready to release the Hellcat into EA! -

For me personally, I am really enjoying the modern version of the Mariana Islands. Fly it regularly. The fact that it is a free map just sweetens the deal and any argument for DCS World IMO. But based on the screen shots we have seen already, my guess is that ED is quite far along the development path. Regarding modeling bombed out areas, I would much prefer that maps be modeled they way we currently have them, but they could add a damage model to the map so that any damage received during a mission would be visible throughout the mission. But in terms of the threads topic, it doesn't look like ED will release a WWII plane in 2022. -
I'm betting a lot of people are hoping your right.

Yeah in the case of ED's SC, while it certainly compliments other 3rd party modules/maps, it is a huge undertaking unto itself and I completely understand why ED would want to get it to at least in a working state with the F18 first. A usable ecosystem (F18/SC) was there from day one. The upcoming DCS Pacific theater in my view stands to benefit more if the release of the map and soon to arrive 3rd party add-ons is done together. You will certainly be able to use the Corsair if it arrives before the map is released and vise versa, but it wont be the same as being released together. I guess time will tell. BTW, looking at my previous post again made me realize that it might not be coming across as intended. Your previous post really did make me chuckle. -
You are right! Being able to drag-select objects (units with static objects) in the ME to move them around as a group would be a very useful. Currently making more large scale scenarios, I guess I was so focused on the issues I see while controlling units in CA that the OP's use of "STATIC OBJECTS" went right over my head. +1 for the OP's request.

I'm bumping this because I don't think it got enough air time. @Licenceless, great list. Thanks! I would be in if anyone wants to start a fund to buy Nick a bigger fridge. But I agree with @DD_Fenrir, their gonna need more people!
