  1. Sounds like a USB power or hub issue. If these devices are on a hub, try replacing the hub. If they are connected to the PC, try using different USB slots.
  2. Well, I feel a little better seeing the spammers aren't just after my websites. Even the big dogs like ED get hit. Enjoy FC2!
  3. Logical explanations found here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/573463.html
  4. Flickering airfield grass textures in some spots, not all. Prob a legacy issue. I don't have this in BS on FC 1.x. I am using dual evga nvidia 295 GTX cards. Still have "the line" that appears outside the cockpit in BS as well, when looking at the tarmac tiles. Everything else runs great so far.
  5. Thank you for this Expansion pack!!!! This is just what we needed. And seeing the Apaches spin up at the A10 training airfield (well played!!) just whet my appetite even more for the DCS series. Best Combat Simulations EVER!!
  6. Although that sounds like it would work (and be the most straightforward choice), it did not used to and I thought it still did not work. These days it's tough to find time to sit down and fly so next time I'm up in the sim I'll give it a shot again. Maybe with 1.0.1 versions that selection works now. Thanks!
  7. Thank you Taipan! I'll give it a shot. To be honest, ALL I want is the Shkval in my second monitor. Nothing more. All the other cockpit controls in Gadroc et al's touchpal skin are great, but I just don't need them as I have hardware switches emulating cockpit controls for everything in the Touchpal skin. All I would like is the Shkval in my second monitor by itself with no other distractions or occlusions taking up space. Is that possible?
  8. Hah.all I get on my touchscreen is part of the picture of the guy twisting his moustache. I guess I have some more work ahead of me, even after following the instructions for a typical 2 monitor setup (1920x1080 main + 1024x768 xenarc touchscreen). This skin is nice, and the touchpal mod is going to be great once it's working. I'm glad you guys put this together. My touchscreen has been sitting collecting dust since I stopped playing FC + Touchbuddy. What is confusing is that the DD_Touchpal_2Mon and _3Mon both have three entries...center, abris, and shkval. But I can't tell how these coordinates map to the Touchpal skin;s display areas....especially since the skhval looks like it can enlarged on the Touchpal screen? Seems like there shouldn't be so much mystery... touchpal can only work in 1024x768. So why not post a chart showing what to type into these files for screen coordinates based on a few common main screen resolutions. Then the majority of us have the coordinates we need to type in, and the others with odd resolutions will be able to more easily figure it out. That's what is throwing me off. The coords to use with the Touchpal skin. And really, all I wanted to do was put the Shkval on my Xenarc. This extra stuff is cool. But the instructions and 17+ page thread are tough to follow. I guess this is one of those "if you really want it, you gotta want it" kind of things. That used to be ok but now I have a baby and no time to research, experiment, and tweak. I just want to install, use, play, and thank! Heck it'd be worth these mods becoming shareware to pay for if it meant something that worked easily out of the box without much hacking and file editing. But I'm no noob...I know the response to that already. Ah well...a couple months from now I'll have found the time to read this whole thread and maybe figure this mystery out. But really...there's not that many monitor resolutions out there in mainstream use for gaming. A simple chart by the author (or someone who understands the coords of the touchpal skin) would help to clear up 90% of the issues folks have with this kind of stuff. Off to read.. -Smoky (85% tweaking, 15% playing)
  9. Hi folks I've been away for a while. Is it possible yet to display the shkval on a second monitor while keeping the game running in full screen? I recall this was not possible before when the game initially released. I have a Xenarc touch screen installed in a dashboard of switches, etc that came in real handy for LockOn using TouchBuddy. Is this possible today in Black Shark? Thanks
  10. I use goggles similar to this for radio control first-person view flying. I can tell you they would not be good for gaming. They are better for things like watching a movie on a plane. And even then....they take getting used to. Definitely too much eyestrain for gaming. My 0.02
  11. It's so good I only use one profile now instead of one for racing, one for flying, etc. Once you get it dialed in, it feels "real" everywhere. Takes about an hour or so to get just right. But it's worth it. And the new tools are great too.
  12. I've owned them all, and I can easily say the TiR5 is leaps and bounds ahead of the 4. It may not seem like much by the written stats. But after you've used each one for so long, you can tell the differences. The 5 is VERY precise. It doesn't get that error "float" that the 3 and 4 had that made you need to recenter on occasion. I have my curves CRANKED with the 5, and that was not possible with the level of precision the 4 offered. My feedback, the 4 is a great device and if you don't know better you won't know what you're gaining when you get the 5. However the 5 is easily worth the extra $$$. My advice, get the 5. The 5 is the result of them fixing all the previous issues, and then really making the device the best it can be. It's like up through the 4 they were just experimenting. Get the 5. Then wait for the 7 or 8 before you look at them again. :-) It'll be a while before it gets significantly better than this.
  13. Have you tried a clean install, then patch, and test again?
  14. Also easier to trim if you reduce the axis curve around center (default is linear I believe). Shooting isn't difficult either. Just takes practice of procedure and learning to use the tools available (eg. auto hover + helmet site target designation + target follow). Read manual, practice. The manual is organized a lot like a text book in some places. Read what they describe, then try it, then re-read it again, then try it again. You'll get targeting, locking, and destroying down in no time. Just wait until you need to start manually creating nav points, assigning wingmen routes, and managing your gps/sat sync WHILE flying and shooting and staying hidden. That's the tough stuff (well, not really...but it is overloading so it is challenging).
  15. This is covered in the manual. :music_whistling: If you go below 5m or so your auto hover will disengage. I believe other APs are disengaged as well. They must be clicked off then on again.. Been a while since I've done that so double check me. As for auto hover, you must use trim. MUST. Trim while flying = snapshot for the computer of your flight behavior to use for nav aids. Trim while hover = snapshot for the computer of your flight behavior to use for hover computations. Hint: You can "auto hover" in a variety of ways. Eg, with heading hold off, you can trim, and the remaining computers will still hold the heli, giving you freedom to yaw around. The biggest mistake people make is assuming this all works like a regular airplane. The "autopilot" is only for following routes and isn't all that automated, really. The "auto hover" is more a "lock onto the snapshot the pilot sent the computer" process. You have to feed the computer info for these systems to work. It's not just flip a switch and the heli holds itself. Trim is the main input the flight computer needs to make auto hover work. You must trim both from the stick and if you want alt hold, from the collective as well. So you must trim twice to obtain a hands-off hover hold. I'm inebriated at the moment, so I hope that's clear. PM me if you have more questions and I can walk you through it. But READ THE MANUAL. This is covered very well.
  16. Far be it for me to ask..what's done is done...but why sell your trackir and hotas just because one sim was overwhelming? Does this mean you are giving up flight altogether? Doesn't make sense to me. But it's your gear. Glad you got what you wanted for it. PS BS is big but not insurmountable. Betting is playing the right way. Do what you enjoy. The things you don't enjoy now may become more pleasurable later. Alas, it is for nought. You've already quit.
  17. Before I download, can someone describe the difference between this and the dirty windows mod?
  18. This is great! I agree with earlier comments... need more rotor depth, similar to the current rotor sound packs available. I can't wait for the full release!
  19. It says "you need to buy a new computer" :D (I actually have some nice guts from an AMD FX-60 on eBay right now with a day left, going cheap too...search for user HonestDave_Auctions).
  20. Turn your head and look a the right side of the cockpit canopy wall. There is a bombing profile chart (or is it on the left? I forget right now)
  21. At the end he offer some parameters to try to get started. Then you can practice from there with different bombing profiles. Good luck!
  22. Surf youtube some more. There are a number of videos demonstrating bomb profiles. Read them as airspeed @ altitude @ drop range. Keep her level, steady, and trimmed. No smart bombs, so it's all about timing and position.
  23. Wow...solider modeling. Sky.. mountains... everything looks... modern!
