I use both 2d and VR and the reasons: -2D: With trackIR I can stay in a blueflag or 104th server for hours and don't get any tired, cause doing PVP for more than a 1hr or 2 in VR is so demanding physically, is just like a hard workout. Plus better fps. In fact, I treat the 2d like a sim within the sim. I learn (or re-learn) my modules first in 2d, then I go flying VR when I have enough systems knowledge. -VR: Private sessions, more realistic ops. It's awesome if you do for instance an IFR patterns or less demanding ops like A/G, refueling, long trips. And that's where VR shines. When you realize you're doing checklist or just flying formation and you look out the canopy and you see a huge wing and you think; wow. Regarding PVP, I'd say since most engagements are just BVR, you can do a PVP session only in VR Got a couple of buddies who can stay 8hrs without getting tired and perform pretty well. Sporting is a little bit hard, but dogfight and general situational awareness is better. But the bad thing of VR is that you get inside a sim, and the world around you just disappears. And if you're ok with it perfect. But, if you have family, kids, or just a demanding girlfriend/boyfriend and you just can't get alone enough time to enjoy the session, VR turns out a bad experience. Too many takeoffs and much fewer landings. It is so anoying when you're 9nm out of your target, just about to shoot your beloved 120c and someone just knocks your visor in order to have their attention. My point is that it is really up to you. If you try both, one would fit your playstyle more. It is like having a hotas warthog or x56 for instance. I do have both, sometimes I prefer one over the other but I could live with one.

Can't agree more. Cap's vids are getting lower and lower quality over the time. I used to watch them just for fun. Now I don't even watch them at all. Not because they are not fun, just because they are not very informative. I was watching the F18-Independence Day vid the other day. The guy just said the F18 is FBW so, why two hands on the stick? So asked a guy who's real f18 driver, remember he told me that the shape of the stick is made so at high speeds and tight turns you would have to use both hands. My friend just posted a commentary on his youtube vid pointing out even where to find if that, (NATOPS included) but hey, we are all wrong...

I'd say I don't care what module you make. It will be an instant buy. I'll know what module when I enter the instant action mission ;-)

I used to have the radar antenna binded to a hotas axis but it was causing some issues. Now only on buttons but same as here. Contacts break lock tooo easy. I have to use the the HMS and sensor select FWD to use LHACQ(Long Range Helmet Acquisition if Sensor Control Switch is held for more than 800 ms 0 8 sec) in orther to have a good solid lock. Or just going with AACQ. And this is on PVP servers. Don't have any issues with any other jet.

I'll be using it for sure! ;-)

I revisited the harrier this week (including JDAMs) thanks to the GR vids and redike's and Chuck's guide. I got to a point where I'm combat ready (That's talking about my DCS servers and missions, won't be that IRL,that would take a big NATOPs manual and 300 coffees hehe) and I gotta say it's pretty easy. In fact, I remembered much harder to learn but after a Tomcat or Jeff every module is pice of cake. Regarding issues,in almost 20/30 hrs of using it, never had a single CTD. Everything performed as it should. When it wasn't performing as it should most of the time was my own fault. The only issue I had was using the TGP, I think I slaved the tgp to a WP and it bugged out or something and then I could not slew it. But I will be using more this module so I can check if there is bugs or something. My own opinion: -Controls and binds: Not a single problem. Very easy to bind. But I think you guys at Razbam need to include some profiles for different setups. I think none of your modules have them and it's a shame. T16000,x52/56 and warthogs should have their profile. Most ppl don't know there are such a but ... -Cockpit: All readable and nice modeled. Not a single problem using it in VR. In fact, it's incredibly good. Every number or gauge is readable. But on my Rift S, using a pixel density of 1.5, it's hard to read the MPCD's sub-menus names. I have to lean and get my seat closer. -Start Up: So easy. If you want a module easy to get from cold start to ready to go. This is your module. The INS thing. Sorry, I like the pre align thing. It's a feature I use, don't see the point of waiting 15min to get proper align. But that's my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I've seen ppl doing the engine run up at the runway entrance, but this is DCS not real life, you won't get any benefit from some of the IRL procedures. In fact, windsocks are 2d textures and I doubt the even show the 5kts steps. Won't arrive late to a dinner for that. -Sounds: I'm used to hear the Harriers spool up and taxi since they stop here when we have el Dia de la Hispanidad. Sounds are spot on. -Take off and landing: Is very easy but hard to master. VSTOL (in particular landings) are awesome. If you are light enough you can practice a lot of VSTOL. Even a nose up hover. The engine is very powerful. Will get you out of trouble pretty fast. And don't know if that is modeled or not but hot gas ingestion is a thing. -Flight: For me, the roll rate feels very fast. I'm not a Harrier pilot, but for me, felt little fast. Other than that. It feels very good. Draggy when you fill up with tanks and ordnances. -Sensors: Nav flir on the hud is awesome. DMT and TPOD are very easy to use. For some reason I thought DMT was useless but I was very wrong, I started to use a lot and is quite easy to use if you don't wanna carry a TPOD. -Weapons: As a full fidelity module, it has a large range of weapons but air to ground is your main task, and for me, those are very easy to practice. Don't get into the JDAMs straight on. Just practice every single method (CCRP,CCIP...) and then go for the guided bombs. As for myself, it was very easy to get used to but coming from other modules like F18C or A10C. In a 30' you would be dropping some JDAMs.The F10 thing to add WP make them very easy to use. And the Sidearms (Air to Surface Anti Radiation Missile) are so easy to use that I don't know why I wasn't using them. I had to readjust my SEAD missions now. Also as a platform, you can carry a huge amount of weapons. -RWR: Standard signal strength priority but when I have it on the HUD I prefer this over the F18c hud-rwd display. -Expendables: Very easy to manage. You can change the CHF and FLR programs from the ufc. Nothing fancy. I think you can set it up via the kneeboard but don't remember that. -Jammer Pod: As far as I know DCS only emulates noise jamming but this here is very traight forward (just a knob) and some differents modes. And I think it saved my life quite sometimes. But don't rely on it. -Radios: Nothing to mention. Did not used it too much.. But, please Razbam, change that bad 2D texture on top of the radio and the KY-58. In VR is very very bad. Very noticable. -Navigation: One of the best moving map I've seen. (The best here is the Jeff's sorry). Different types of steerpoints that will help you to navigate or employ your weapons. Waypoint navigation is for my, a bit odd. I'm so used to follow flight plans, and using waypoints in sequences. I'd love to see this in the Harrier. But if you are used to get to the wpt following the hud and not your HSI that will be easy. You can move the waypoint with the TDC which is awesome. You can create mark points while overflying, and create target points using the velocity vector wich is very easy. But, as it is a ground attack aircraft, I would expect to be able to create a target point from the EHSD with the tdc,not only pointing my nose to the enemy. I'm doing mostly CAS and that's what I missed the most comparing to a A10C for instance. Don't know if the real one those it. Also, the ILS (AWLS) & tacan system are there. AWLS will make you save a lot of time since you won't have to be setting the radios and all the that. (Kind like the JF17 and that's awesome) -Autopilot: You have pitch attitude hold, roll attitude hold, and heading hold. Also you can set the altitude hold. Easy to understand and easy to use. -Air to air refueling: If you're new to AA refueling, this will be very hard. A bit hard if you are used to see the probe. Also, take into account that if you refuel from a KC130 for instance, don't place it 25k feet, you'll be very high and slow, your moving surfaces will be less effective and you'll find on a PIO very quickly. That will work with almost any aircraft. And nothing else to say. It's been a fun week. And definitely will be using the Harrier a lot. Is it worth half off ? For me, even full price.

Hi, today we had same issue with the C101 multicrew. We could not 3hrs trying literally everything. Could not get the gear up. 1) No max landing gear speed exceeded 2) From cold star and hot start. Doesn't matter if we start the plane or the plane is already started. 3) Bug only occurs when multicrewing. 4)Map Caucasus. Also, don't know if its a feature or not but when pressing nav button to check ILS for instance, rear pilot/front pilot cant see the ILS on HSI

Well, in FPS genre we are used to make our custom ISOs with windows so we can only run one or two games and get the least input lag and the best performance. I have a custom made WIN1909 and can't confirm I gained or lost any fps but what I can tell you now is that I got rid of most stutters. Running your system without all that bloatware is night and day. DCS runs much more smooth. Can't describe. But don't take my word. Just try. Also, take into account that some of those tricks like disabling spectre and meltdown patches (via InSpectre tool) can cause security vulnerability but you could end up getting 5-10% more performance that you didn't even know was there. I treat my DCS pc like if it was a Real Flight sim. And we, engineers, not always can get the best o the best,(in this case I9 or i7 latest gen with 2080ti) so we must think smart and try to maximize our software to do the magic. Some part of that relies on ED's. But a big part of this is our own fault. If you run DCS but your pc boots up with 5gb of ram usage and 100 webpages opened, don't expect a good performance even with the best of the best. So my tip is to treat your pc like a real sim facility. Don't buy s^ht from amazon or use your credit card in it. Don't install crap that your boss would not alow. This guy can show you couple of good tricks,it's a complete series ( ) Some of the steps or recommendations are just simply not needed like network optimisation but other my work like a charm (I'm talking about the reg key that throttle your pc while playing multiplayer, yes, it's a thing) That been said, you can take advantage of some of those tricks. First and foremost, understand what you are doing. In fact, some of those steps will make your VR device just simply don't boot. So be carefull. Also, and very useful, don't try to do all in one step. Make little steps and log every change you make. That way, if anything breaks, you know what step was.

No difference here also from 16 to 32 gb. Also, before you spend money on ram, try getting rid of all the bloatware that comes with W10 by default. I havea Win10 1909 booting with les than a 800mb of ram usage. By default w10 uses 3.5gb which is mindblowing.

I've upgraded from 8350k @ 5ghz (4 cores) to a 9700k @5ghz also (8 cores) and not any fps difference.
-
You only have to delete all the content inside fxo and metashaders2 folders.
-
I'll try right now... Edit: Did not have any fps drop. Neither VR nor regular monitor. Check out your vr specs, try VR profile on the graphics settings to see if it helps. Also try deleting "C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo" and "\...metashaders2" content to see if it helps

Don't have this issue at all. In fact, I do have almost same pc than yours (8350k at 5Ghz, 1080ti,16gb ram, Rift S,win10 1909 and open beta branch) and never had any issue. As of performance in VR, no complains regarding Razbam so far. I do have also the Harrier and the M2000 and they perform very well. Let me know what conditions you've tried, if it was a instant mission or something.

Nice!!! Looking forward to fly it! Definitley having a blast with all your modules! Keep up the good work!!

[MISSING TRACK FILE] Pitch Occilation Around 700 kts
ECTAE replied to StarVenger's topic in Bugs and Problems
I had the refuel door open when started but closing didn't fixed it. I had to lower my speed a lot. Horizontal stab was moving up and down like crazy. -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] Pitch Occilation Around 700 kts

I had this issue while getting close to the tanker, 400knts and caused by the horizontal stabs not the vertical like in your vid... Weird -
