  1. I am running a 40" 4k monitoring on a 1080TI, you mentioned you're getting 60 frames per second, I get 40 frames per second with everything maxed out so for an extra 20 frames would you consider it worth the £1300?
  2. I am talking purely as a end user buyer here - Maybe the marketing people at Heat blur should understand what a LIVE stream actually is, LIVE being the optimum word there. not just playing a pre-recorded video. Would have been great if someone could have show even just a takeoff and landing. And Yes I have pre-ordered :) but just was hoping for more than a video to have been played :(
  3. thanks - ill give it a go when i get home :)
  4. Its astonishing how much actual work goes into creating a map. believe me I know :) 1000's of hours work. ED has done a fantastic job with the PG map and its well worth the money. If you think about it this way You take your partner and 2 kids to see a movie at the cinema, that gonna cost you 2 adults at around £13 each, and 2 x kiddies at about £8 So for 2 hours of entertainment that gonna cost you £42 Convert the dollars into pounds and ED want at today's exchange rate £38.48 And you get to spend more than 2 hours in the sim, and also get many updates to the map That's just how the world is mate, you want the best products then you have to pay for them. Thrustmaster Warthog is a fantastic system for the money, i used one for 8 years without issues until i swapped to Virpil stick and throttle. but yes I agree that things can get a little pricey while you are getting yourself setup. But as NineLine said, people don't start with the top end equipment. I personally started with a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback, back in the day and other before hand which i can't remember the name of. My personal opinion :) Cheers Specter
  5. I think there will be a purchase inbound lol
  6. No, I have OB installed for normal, abd another version for development. dont see the point of having Stable installed as things that get broken are fixed quickly in OB I agree since the last update, the A2A isnt that functional at all. I guess its a perspective thing, I am a ground pounder, so dont really car about A2A, others who are A2A focused probably dont care about ground pounding :) its all subjective i guess
  7. While the HARM will be a great addition to the Harnet, its not something that we haven't seen before within DCS, the harrier has the sidearms, which I know are not the same weapon, however the outcome is much the same, the operational range of the HARM is 92 miles, which to me just makes things a little fire and forget with not really any effort A2A at the moment is functional and kinda working, you can take targets out, maybe we just need to get TWS For ground pounding its very very limited at the moment with dumb bombing. I personally would have went with the ATFLIR, as this would allow us to lase for other and open up a new scope of weapons the Hornet hasn't seen yet Thanks Specter
  8. When my Warthog stick snapped, I contacted Thrustmaster and they where not very helpful. I also looked at both VKB and VPC as a replacement, I went with VPC and I found it hard to order a VKB and also the VPC customer services respond to you very quickly. I must say I really like the VPC, the precision is amazing, I went and bought a throttle from them also and let me tell you, WOW Thanks Specter
  9. Hi All I just updated my Stream Deck software to version 3.2 a few days ago and since that time the stream decks stopped working in DCS. I have identified the issue and have informed Elgato. Issue: I have for instance my TCN button in the Hornet mapped to keyboard ALT + T Checking the Elgato hotkey thats also says LAlt + T Pressing the button in cockpit, does absolutely nothing. further testing highlighted that the Elgato 3.2 software update, even though it says that its using a modifier (ALT or CTRL etc) its not passing that as part of the key commands Solution: Downgrade your software to 3.1, I have just done this and all is back and working perfectly 3.1 Download Here: https://gaming.help.elgato.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2793637-elgato-stream-deck-software-release-notes#3.1.bar Cheers Specter
  10. Yes I am experiencing the same problem. Also experienced unable to select 9X - display said 7M0 and wouldn't change - i checked control mappings all ok, re spawned on the boat and was able to select 9X after launch
  11. i agree, although i think we need to stick with realism :) - I am sure the real hornet makes its mind up pretty fast, so maybe ED need to work on that to get it working properly
  12. would be interested to have a chat about this mate - when are you on TS?
  13. I ordered my first Stream Deck just over a week ago, had it for just one day and ordered another one. I have mine setup using images I have cut from the cockpit, for both the 18 and the Harrier. Works really well
  14. excellent they must have fixed it - hadn't checked, thanks for the info
  15. irrespective of the time of day or night, you should be able to turn the external lights on or off, like the formation ones etc
  16. Hey all I just thought i would share my feedback on the Virpil T50 Throttle that i received last week Build Quality: Taking it out of the box for the first time felt even better than when i took my first Warthog out of the box. The build quality is absolutely outstanding, feels like you have spend your money very wisely and that it will last for years to come. Connecting the Hardware: I connected the throttle to my system (Obviously) and it worked without any issues what so ever, the only criticism is that the USB cable isn't that long so make sure you have a USB hub near to plug it into (for my setup at least). Wasn't really an issue though. Binding the Controls: I started by binding the controls on the throttle to the FA18. This was really easy with only once not being able to bind one button (Which bound at a later date, think this is a known issue within DCS) the 2 x Axis rotary (bottom left of the throttle) I bound to Comm 1 and 2 Volume controls. the other 3 rotary knobs I bound to the comm 1 and 2 channel rotatory (very pleased to find these in the bindings list with the hornet) and the last knob i bound to the jettison rotary. The only thing i would query is that the 2 x (what i call) flick switches on the right just below the leaver to the right of the throttle up and down produce the same value, so makes the flick switch a little pointless to be honest. Flying the Hornet: The precision as you can imagine is just like the T50 stick, very precise on the throttle movements, really feels like you have something of value in your hands. Overall Thoughts: I am very pleased with the product, well built and the addition of the knobs compared with the warthog makes me think how did I do without them for so long. The Warthog will be put on eBay :) The only issues I had were with the delivery dates slipping, I ordered my product in May and it wasn't done till Sept, so maybe 2 to 3 months delay from initial release. But I am sure that things will settle down for newer orders. EDIT: One REALLY COOL thing i love about the throttle is the zoom wheel in the middle of the dront of the throttle handles, this makes for zooming in and out very easy without having to move your hand off of the throttle, which i never had in the warthog Thanks Mithandra Callsign: Specter
  17. its happened to me when just taking off of the carrier then flying to some point. last time it happened I was not able to A2A re-fuel due to this issue
  18. i have seen this issue over many modules, sometimes binding works, sometimes it doesn't, the key to it is to just keep trying or to work out what button you're trying to press and choose that button from the drop-down
  19. ED, do we have any ETA for the lights issue on the hornet? Daytime - you can put the external formation lights on etc Nighttime - they don't work sounds like an easy fix to be honest and would help those doing night missions
  20. the answer is not to taxi on the deck with the hook down :) part of your procedure should be to put the hook straight up once the cable has been retracted
  21. no labels for me as most if not all MP servers do not allow it. I used to own a rift but due to the lack of resolution it was very hard to see targets from angels 8. looking for a green tank on a green field just didnt work for me so I sold it and went back to track IR. The new Pimax may change the bar though
  22. i would like to see laser targeting for the FA18, along with Mavs - this would bring the capabilities up to at least what other air frames can do, for those that just want to fly the FA18 this would make for some great additions and opens up the scope for more mission types to be developed as dumb bombing is getting old now
  23. I have also experienced this on a random basis, flying and just letting go of the stick and the aircraft will just start to lean to the left, then because your leaning left it will start to nose dive
  24. If you're playing on most MP servers this view isn't allowed as its not really realistic and can be classed as a cheat. I do find it useful sometimes though when playing single player
