  1. irrespective of the time of day or night, you should be able to turn the external lights on or off, like the formation ones etc
  2. Hey all I just thought i would share my feedback on the Virpil T50 Throttle that i received last week Build Quality: Taking it out of the box for the first time felt even better than when i took my first Warthog out of the box. The build quality is absolutely outstanding, feels like you have spend your money very wisely and that it will last for years to come. Connecting the Hardware: I connected the throttle to my system (Obviously) and it worked without any issues what so ever, the only criticism is that the USB cable isn't that long so make sure you have a USB hub near to plug it into (for my setup at least). Wasn't really an issue though. Binding the Controls: I started by binding the controls on the throttle to the FA18. This was really easy with only once not being able to bind one button (Which bound at a later date, think this is a known issue within DCS) the 2 x Axis rotary (bottom left of the throttle) I bound to Comm 1 and 2 Volume controls. the other 3 rotary knobs I bound to the comm 1 and 2 channel rotatory (very pleased to find these in the bindings list with the hornet) and the last knob i bound to the jettison rotary. The only thing i would query is that the 2 x (what i call) flick switches on the right just below the leaver to the right of the throttle up and down produce the same value, so makes the flick switch a little pointless to be honest. Flying the Hornet: The precision as you can imagine is just like the T50 stick, very precise on the throttle movements, really feels like you have something of value in your hands. Overall Thoughts: I am very pleased with the product, well built and the addition of the knobs compared with the warthog makes me think how did I do without them for so long. The Warthog will be put on eBay :) The only issues I had were with the delivery dates slipping, I ordered my product in May and it wasn't done till Sept, so maybe 2 to 3 months delay from initial release. But I am sure that things will settle down for newer orders. EDIT: One REALLY COOL thing i love about the throttle is the zoom wheel in the middle of the dront of the throttle handles, this makes for zooming in and out very easy without having to move your hand off of the throttle, which i never had in the warthog Thanks Mithandra Callsign: Specter
  3. its happened to me when just taking off of the carrier then flying to some point. last time it happened I was not able to A2A re-fuel due to this issue
  4. i have seen this issue over many modules, sometimes binding works, sometimes it doesn't, the key to it is to just keep trying or to work out what button you're trying to press and choose that button from the drop-down
  5. ED, do we have any ETA for the lights issue on the hornet? Daytime - you can put the external formation lights on etc Nighttime - they don't work sounds like an easy fix to be honest and would help those doing night missions
  6. the answer is not to taxi on the deck with the hook down :) part of your procedure should be to put the hook straight up once the cable has been retracted
  7. no labels for me as most if not all MP servers do not allow it. I used to own a rift but due to the lack of resolution it was very hard to see targets from angels 8. looking for a green tank on a green field just didnt work for me so I sold it and went back to track IR. The new Pimax may change the bar though
  8. i would like to see laser targeting for the FA18, along with Mavs - this would bring the capabilities up to at least what other air frames can do, for those that just want to fly the FA18 this would make for some great additions and opens up the scope for more mission types to be developed as dumb bombing is getting old now
  9. I have also experienced this on a random basis, flying and just letting go of the stick and the aircraft will just start to lean to the left, then because your leaning left it will start to nose dive
  10. If you're playing on most MP servers this view isn't allowed as its not really realistic and can be classed as a cheat. I do find it useful sometimes though when playing single player
  11. I normally don't reply to things like this but enough is enough! what you don't understand is that Razbam isn't just a couple of people. I for one am doing the Falklands Terrain, there are other people doing specific modules, each have their own tasks. Things are being worked on all the time, which sometimes you don't realise. As Ron stated in the interview video, the sim is ever evolving and code needs to be re-coded sometimes to sustain the functionality with the engine. So please get your facts right when you post a comment like this!
  12. same for me, editing a mission or creating a new mission and then just waiting caused DCS to crash
  13. Exactly the same for me crashes in the mission editor, can be anywhere, loadout screen placing units, unable to create any mission.
  14. The module is still in development and is being worked on, would you rather the devs continue to develop and spend time coding the module or sitting trawling through the forums looking to reply to threads. 99% of the improvements are posted on the facebook page, normally with screen shots to boot. I know the Devs and they are always working on improvements. Yes this is early access and things will break and have to be re-done, even to the point of having to be re-do stuff due to game coding change requirements. So please cut them some slack. Cheers Specter
  15. yes i was just going to post this as I remember when they headed to LA (If memory serves me right) that they put their bags in the tanks. Excellent show - well worth a watch IMHO
  16. What we need is the ability to enter MGRS coords :) like the A10C
  17. I also came up with .468 also
  18. The HOF function is indeed in the sim and working, i haven't tested the dispersal height yet so cannot comment but its certainly there in the Weapons DDI, its under MFUZ and then select YT and once the screen goes back to the main view HT appears at the bottom. Cheers Specter
  19. I'd suggest maybe upping your graphics settings as the Tarawa is a great model and the textures look excellent on my 4k display running with everything max'd out Cheers Specter
  20. Exactly my point, why would i think to look in the ED forums to get an update from an order i placed with a company mate - they should have sent out emails, i have received nothing from them. Not to worry, they either want my business or they dont :) up to them
  21. Hello All I would just like to share my experience of VIRPIL over the past 4 months About 4 months ago my Warthog stick snapped off. So I started to look round for another flight system as TM were not very helpful. After looking at VKB and VIRPIL i chose to go with the latter as the customer services reviews where pretty good from what I had read and I had already contacted VKB via email and the response wasn't great at all I placed my order 1 x Mongoose T50 stick 1 x Mongoose T50 Throttle until (Said not available till june 9th, which i was happy to wait) 1 x Desk mount for the stick Total cost I spent was in excess of 700 Euros I received the stick and the mount within 10 days of ordering 9th of June came and went, no communications from VIRPIL about any delays, checked the order status just after the 9th and the delay had been updated to end of July (this should have been communicated via email, shouldn't be my responsibility to chase them) I have just checked the site today and order is still being processed, its now August, I have waited and waited for this product with no communication from VIRPIL (unless I log a ticket and complain, then i get a response) So today I have created a ticket stating that if the product is not shipped within 7 days, just give me my 355 Euros back as I think i have been more than fair Anyways that's my experience with the product Cheers Specter
  22. the Height of the Farp comes from the x,y placement of the model in 3dsmax. all models, i.e buildings always normally extend under the 0 y pos so that when they are placed they will always connect with the ground and have no gaps under. The model can also be corrected using the LUA code also Specter
  23. If using option 1 it will replace the standard farp, we made these 2 mods as Suntsag said a 2 step process and each step can be used in its own right. So essentially if you want just AM2 matting use option 1 if you just want a replacement for the in game FARP with AM2 matting use option 2, if you want both use both We have tested these extensively but as always cannot test in every location on all maps. Cheers Specter
  24. I personally sold my Rift due to not being able to spot anything on the ground or in the air, hopefully the next generation of HMDs will improve the resolution
  25. I would certainly recommend purchasing the harrier - excellent fun to be honest
