All of these issues will be addressed within EA, as you can imagine the map is absolutely huge so we have had to prioritise the tasks Thanks Raz_Specter
-
this will possibly come in the next update we are looking into this, thanks for the reminder Raz_specter

To help us identify and get right to the issue we require the following in addition to a track file if that is applicable Within your controls under general there are 2 key binds that allow you to copy your exact location within the DCS environment Load camera position from Clipboard - this allows you to jump to any location if you have a camera position Unload camera position to clipbaord - This is the most important and allows you to copy to your clipboard the exact location Example of copied text: -camera -315.212957 0.087055 -575.050548 -cameradir 0.087917 -0.138443 -0.986461 If everyone can provide the camera positions of any issues they find or feel they need to report this would be of great help and will allow us to jump to that location within the development tools Many thanks Raz_Specter

Mismatched trees, rivers, roads, and water
specterStudios replied to Nightwolf's topic in Bugs and Problems
yes we are aware of these issues which we posted before the EA release, as we mentioned focus has not been on the mainland. We are switching focus back to the mainland and these sorts of issues will be solved in due corse. As you can imagine is mage is massive and it will take time. many thanks Specter -
Sharp edges where land meets water
specterStudios replied to Northstar98's topic in Bugs and Problems
With the height of the soil there i doubt you wouldn't be able to climb that location anyways, we have tested AI to the left and that works fine. Try the lower terrain to the left -
reported Black screen at South Atlantic airport
specterStudios replied to Gasman's topic in Bugs and Problems
this is a know issue with ED, not limited to the SA map but happens more on our map. ED are looking into this If you turn off your mirrors this will disappear until ED fix it -

released Why hasn't the South Atlantic map been released yet?
specterStudios replied to huchanronaa's topic in South Atlantic
This statement is completely wrong "You can also see in the videos that the map uses photo textures which requires less work and does not look as good as the Caucasus " All textures have to be hand cleaned of clouds and anomalies, along with removing buildings etc, this was / is a massive amount of work. IMPO this map looks like you are flying google earth, which is what a flight simulator should look like in my humble opinion. But thats just my opinion and others may have other views thanks Specter -
Good Morning all So currently within the South Atlantic map we have various degrees of image quality due to the size and scale of the map. For all of the Falklands we are using the highest quality images possible. for around all airfields and main towns, both FK and mainland we are also using the highest images possible, for the large areas between we are using a medium quality image. The idea I am toying with is to include the highest quality images across the whole map. This would bring with it a very significant increase in download size, possibly doubling the size of the download. I wanted to get a feel on what people wanted and what is important for people, file size download or image quality in game. This hasn't been decided yet so please put your teddies back in the corner . I just wanted to get a feel on what the community thought was most important thanks Specter

we will be putting some video out within the next couple of weeks depending on time scales
-
we test the map most mights it may be because we just want to fly a mission together (playing with the Fantastic Apache) with the testers or we have something specific to test. the map is looking really nice, and if i don't mind saying so myself i think it will blow your mind when you fly over it watch this space

released Why hasn't the South Atlantic map been released yet?
specterStudios replied to huchanronaa's topic in South Atlantic
watch this space is all i am gonna say it's entirely up to the developers of the products to put out as much or as little as they feel they want to during a projects duration, has nothing to do with closeness of release. -
Can we get the ability to use the front seat in multiplayer please
-
possibly you havent enough GFX memory on your GPU to handle everything that is being thrown at it
-
yes we visit the forums, we have other priorities atm so no, no news as of yet
-
hi, many shots of the map are in 2022 and beyond video from ED, but hopefully we will do something very soon thanks
-
things might have changed since you were their last. granted there are no native trees in the Falkland's, however, people have taken them and grown them in parts example of Port Stanley Fox Bay Anyways i think you get my point. as we have very little reference (as no google street view) sometimes its required to use artistic licence. Remember this isn't tree simulator but for the most part, there are not any forests in the Falklands Islands or any native trees. I think we have a happy balance to what looks really good. IMPO Thanks Specter

we are in the process of moving hosts, link should be back when this is sorted

work is progress nicely on the terrain, but as you can imagine the project has grown exponentially over the period due to community feedback. The map upon release will cover 1.5 million square km. so that will be good enough IMPO. Ill try and put something together this week, no promises thanks Specter With reference to the weapons, the Sea Cat, Sea Dart Missiles have already been submitted to ED for them to do their magic, I still have the SeaWolf to complete. The rapier is already in the sim.

Hi All I am the lead dev on the Falklands map and I wanted just to understand what video memory people have on their cards. This will give me a better understanding on what I can include texture wise and how far I can push the envelope. Also talking into consideration of the ED min specs of course. Thanks Raz_Specter
