  1. You have to use the virpil software once to initialize the base and tell it what stick you use. After that you can set everything in dcs. I have a warbrd base - no adjustable tension as in the cm2 base and i love it. It is super-smooth and feels much better than the warthog base and it is clearly more sturdy and durable due to the metal gimbal as opposed to the plastic gimbal of the warthog base.
  2. The f-16 stick as sold from tm is exactly the same as their warthog stick. You need to buy an extra adapter for the angle.
  3. Its a mini-din 5-pole connector (if you are asking for the connector on the stick). Maybe you could use the connector from the butchered warbrd base?
  4. I wanted a landing gear lever and then i stumbled over romeokilos pit and now i have a (nearly) complete cockpit... Its addictive!
  5. I am very interested in your results because i want to use a similar OLED (128*32) for the fuel quantity counter and i cannot get dcs-bios to write anything to this display...
  6. At Virpil you can preorder now, just takes time to deliver. I use a Warbrd base which is much cheaper than the T50 base and its far superior over the Thrustmaster base.
  7. Maybe you have a look at mmjoy? You can use shift registers without much coding. It also makes your button box more generic/versatile.
  8. Yes, m4, 110x68 mm.
  9. My ebay switch from china arrived within a week...
  10. This one fits: https://www.ebay.de/itm/SH-T8014-Z1-Large-Handle-12mm-3Pin-ON-OFF-ON-Maintained-SPDT-Mini-Toggle-Switch/172946599425?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  11. Max487 only needs 5v. From your pic i see you connect 5v out from mega (master) to v-in on nano. V-in needs at least 6v (up to 12v) because of conversion loss. Maybe this is your problem? Edit: Have a look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-topics/input-and-output/home-cockpits/245244-dcs-bios-over-rs485
  12. Have you read Debolestis thread about modding X-Fighter stick to use with Warthog/Cougar/Virpil base? It gives a good insight about what goes where. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160114&highlight=x-fighter&page=12
  13. I have ordered several times from them, had no problems so far. Once an item i ordered got lost in the mail, four days later i received a replacement.
  14. One tip against frustration: DONT fall for the cheap max487 chips from china. I ebay'd a 50-pack for 9.99$ and only 1 (ONE!) survived. I bought new ones from Reichelt for around 2€ per piece and all are working fine for over a year now.
  15. My cdu-display is a ili-9486 3.5" display and is fed by dcs-bios, so it should work. We will see.
  16. I also use the 200mm extension with a warthog grip. Unscrewing the female connector in the extension gives the advantage of pulling it out a bit to plug it into the grip first before screwing the grip on the extension. But you are right, the mini-din is really not easy to handle in tight space.
  17. I use rotary encoders - they are 10 by 12 mm in size.
  18. Hi BlackLibrary, I am using the "classic" DCS-BIOS (https://github.com/DCSFlightpanels/dcs-bios) and i cant find the HMCS-controls for the A-10C II in the control reference. Am i missing something?
  19. Have a look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160114&highlight=x-fighter&page=12 The old B-08 grip was used in a whole lot of planes like A-10a, F-15a, F-4, Uh-1 and many more. The Thrustmaster X-Fighter is a 1:1 replica while the other Thrustmaster B-08 style grips like Topgun and FCS are around 80% smaller for little kids gamer hands.
  20. Debolestis has a very detailed howto in this forum on making the x-fighter compatible with the warthog base (and virpil bases also): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160114&highlight=x-fighter&page=12 I did it also (without the otto switches).
  21. My CDU-cover also comes from pcflights.com. I just cut holes in a plywood board where the switches fit in, glued them and made a flying solder-job with diodes and wire. Its not the most beautyful work of mine, but works and was cheap (exept for the cover!).
  22. Thats why i use a Virpil WarBRD base. For the extension i added the extra-heavy springs because of the heavy Warthog grip.
  23. MFG, Virpil, WinWing, a lot of unnamed on ebay; just to name a few. From 50 to 400 mm. I use a 200 mm s-curve from Virpil on a WarBRD base and it feels fantastic.
  24. CSA is a surface-mounted chip (smd - not very easy for home soldering). CPA is standard package with through-hole soldering or for putting in a socket. CPE is with extra electrostatic protection - a bit more expensive but actually helpful if you cannot shield all your circuits properly. Just dont buy cheap packs from china - my first batch of 50 chips for 9$ completely went to smoke. I bought new ones for about 2€ a piece - and none have failed me since.
