I don't think do. The Hornet and Viper transmit designations over Link16, while the Hog uses SADL. The two can interconnect through a node but I don't think designation points translate. I could be wrong though.

Are you on Stable? A fix for this was included in the changelog for the last Open Beta release, but I haven't had time to check it yet.

Best Syria missions and campaigns?
Bunny Clark replied to CommandT's topic in User Created Missions General
Yah, exactly, that was the decision. Not that most missions should need AAR, but I wanted to give the player the option, especially on the longer strikes. That and I rather wish the Viking hadn't been retired so early. -

Best Syria missions and campaigns?
Bunny Clark replied to CommandT's topic in User Created Missions General
I certainly plan to keep working on it. The cold start version is done, I just need to do some play testing to make sure I didn't bork timings in some of the missions. I've used Oil In The Water as a test best for a lot of things, some mission exist only because I wanted an excuse to figure out how a mission editor mechanic worked. My Inherent Resolve campaign (which I still need a title for) will include proper scripted radio transmissions, interactive mission elements, and real human voice actors. I hope to be able to make it a paid DLC. I struggled to come up with a proper carrier air wing for the Gulf and time period. It's hard, as we don't have enough Hornet liveries to make up a single proper carrier air wing, much less one that was deployed the Gulf at any time. Add to that having almost no choices for the other carrier aircraft and the only choice is to hope for more options from ED someday or make your own. I embraced the fictional setting a bit for sure, especially having Vikings on the carrier after they were completely retired. -
I swear I remember reading something about this a while ago, and now I can't find it. Is there a plan to add Kabani to the map? Not even the air base, just the city? I'd love to include missions during the 2014-2015 siege in my campaign, but that's gonna be pretty weird if the city isn't there.

Best Syria missions and campaigns?

Part of that is that it just takes quite a lot of time to make a fully featured campaign, and not everyone was sitting around waiting for the Syria map to drop so they could jump right into mission making. I was working to finish my Oil In The Water campaign before I started real work on an Inherent Resolve campaign, and I'm only just getting to the end of that project. I started doing the research well over a month ago, and just started making missions. Trying to make a campaign that's even passably realistic requires a pretty in depth understanding of what is a very complex conflict, and then you need to start digging into particulars to pull inspirations for specific missions. I'm spending as much time writing briefings and dialog, drawing maps, and creating recon images as I am actually scripting missions. I'm hopeful to have something out in a few months, but we'll see. I try to set aside time to fly for fun too -
At this point I just assume the fix is going to be buying the full fidelity MiG-29 module. In the meantime the NS430 works reasonably well with the MiG-29 to see where you are.

I'd love an F-35 before the announced DCS: MiG-29A 9.12 is released! Somehow, I don't think that's very likely...

Comprehensive list of context sensitive HOTAS commands?
Bunny Clark replied to key_stroked's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I made this a while ago. I've also made quick reference kneeboards which you can find a link to in my signature, though that does not list HOTAS actions for every button. Hornet HOTAS Green.pdf -
Sorry, typo. Should be 251, the freq you said you wanted it on.

Best Syria missions and campaigns?
Bunny Clark replied to CommandT's topic in User Created Missions General
I've found I can get good performance with culling set to 200 and infantry turned off. With those settings it's not much worse than any other large DCS mission. The DCS AI isn't as bad many people make it out to be. At least an equal share of the blame is on Liberation. The DCS AI does not handle dynamic situations well, it's not designed for it, it's designed to be scripted and told what to do in pretty specific detail. When you do that it performs ... acceptably. It still makes plenty of stupid decisions, and scripting can be a mess of trying to determine exactly why the AI is doing something stupid. But Liberation, by it's nature, can't do the significant amount of AI tweaking that's needed for it to perform well in missions. Liberation has gotten quite a bit better at this in the last few versions, and with a bit of manual tweaking to the mission file before playing it can be made quite a bit better. -
Set the aircraft that you want to send the transmission to 251.000 Give that aircraft a Task of Transmit Radio Message under Triggered Actions, this is where you'll enter your sound file, type in the caption, and give it a duration. Create a Trigger Zone around the waypoint. Create a Trigger for Unit In Zone for the aircraft and the trigger zone you made, and set it's action to AI Task Push and select the Transmit action you programmed earlier.

The Hornet can have a single steering mode selected at a time, and when you have a designated target the active steering mode becomes TGT. When you're in TGT steering mode the WYPT option turns into a boxed TGT on the HSI and SA pages, and the steering cue on the HUD turns into a diamond. I'm not sure if changing waypoints should cause the system to exit TGT steering mode, but it also makes some sense, as waypoint steering doesn't display at all with a designated target.

I haven't had a chance to look at your mission yet, but a few general observations: You can set a flight's "Reaction to Threat" option under advanced waypoint settings. The default is "Allow Abort Mission" which can absolutely cause flights to turn away from a target area if there are threats present, even if there's no way the threat could actually endanger them. Changing this to Evade or Ignore could solve at least some of your problems. How are you telling your SEAD flights to attack? I've found the most reliable method is to delete the auto generated SEAD task and assign them to attack specific groups, or to use the "Search and Engage In Zone" task.

As far as I know if you buy the A-10C II module you will also get the older A-10C as well. I've seen other people say with conviction that it works that way. I cannot confirm this personally as I already owned the A-10C when I bought the A-10C II module.

I'm pretty sure that approach ATC does not work yet and only cruise ATC is implemented. I've also seen some people say that it does work, but my experience is like yours, it's tried to kill me every time I've used it.

Oil In The Water SP & CO Campaign
Bunny Clark replied to Bunny Clark's topic in Missions and Campaigns
And all 16 missions are done!! This campaign is now concluded and you can play the full story start to finish. That hardly means I'm done working on it though. As of right now the campaign is a full 16 hot-start missions with 2-player co-op versions of each. I'm now working on the cold start versions of both the single player campaign and 2-player co-op. At some point I also hope to build a few 4-player co-op missions as well, but I don't think every mission in the campaign will warrant a 4-player version. Version 2.5 is live now and includes: -Missions 14 and 15 added, which concludes the campaign. -A lot of tweaking and cleanup of airbase faction assignments, hiding objects on the map, AI flight radio frequencies, and generally correcting earlier missions to be consistent with later ones. -Added a voice line in Mission 2 if the helicopters flee the area to let you know that objective is complete. -
Oil In The Water SP & CO Campaign
Bunny Clark replied to Bunny Clark's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Alright, I managed to shoot down two helicopters and get two to flee tonight, and the triggers all worked as expected and triggered a mission success when they flew away. So, I'm not certain what caused your problem. I did add a new voice line for when the helicopters have fled the area so the player knows. Before it was a blind trigger that just tripped the mission complete message, now the helicopters fleeing is treated the same way as the helicopters being destroyed. -
Yup, totally right, got my INS advisory codes mixed up posting at 2AM.

It means INS is not coupled to GPS. Once the INS is aligned during startup, the mode switch should be set to IFA.

Best Syria missions and campaigns?
Bunny Clark replied to CommandT's topic in User Created Missions General
Much of the northern half of the Syria map was/is a battleground between ISIL, various rebel factions, and the SAA. The map includes the locations of many major battles like Raqqa (ISIL's national HQ), Manbij, al Bab, the Tabqa Dam, pretty much the entire region of Operation Euphrates Shield, plus Aleppo. Notable exceptions right now are Kabani, which was a major battlefield and later on a US forward airbase, and Shayrat Airbase, the Syrian base that was attacked by the US in retaliation for using chemical weapons. I believe both of these locations are planned to be added, as they are inside the detailed area of the existing map. A significant amount of Operation Inherent Resolve did take place outside the bounds of the Syria map though, either in the portions of eastern Syria not detailed in the map or in western Iraq. Quite a few US fighters were based in Jordan and flew missions in both Syria and Iraq, and that's not something we can really do with the map as it is right now. But the areas we do have include most of the more populous portions of the areas conquered by ISIL and where most of the heaviest fighting took place. Not like I'm doing a bunch of research on a Syrian Civil War campaign or anything ... -
Oil In The Water SP & CO Campaign
Bunny Clark replied to Bunny Clark's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I'm glad you're enjoying it! That's curious, there is a trigger that should let you win the mission if the helos flee. Any of the islands around there are out of the zone. There isn't a message to the player when the helos leave the area, which would probably be a good idea to add, but with all 6 boats dead and the helos gone you should get the mission complete message. I'll need to mess with this a bit more. Unfortunately it's a rather difficult scenario to playtest ... -
It does feel a hair tighter, but it's awfully close. It's weird placing aircraft there in the mission editor because you can't actually see where the side of the island is. If it's off, it's not by much, which I suppose is about what the old Stennis was too.
