  1. Maybe two versions like in case of the F-14. One early German Air-to-Air Eurofighter around 2006 like the developer flown himself in Luftwaffe, as realistic as possible, with minimal amound of "unrealistic and cut out" stuff, correct timeline to make realistic scenarios together with current 2006 F-16 and F/A-18 Second 2021 with Meteor missile and different "shaddy stuff" modeled more "freely" It would be a shame if, at one point, we will have fairly realistic Eurofighter around 2004-2006 timeline, compatible timeline with Hornet and Viper, really close to the real aircraft, but after some time we would "lose" it when it evolve in the second version and we would have ONLY this newer 2021 version and the 2006 would be lost. Two variants, with one being restricted to 2006 stuff and other evolved would be the best of two worlds.
  2. Agree. M and K are proably even lot more classified than SMT as they are more modern than Viper and Hornet we have in DCS... We can safely forget about them for the next 2 decades or so. (M and K are not the best looking in my opinion because they have only 2-seat canopy even in 1-seater probably due to lack of founds to develop two separate fuselage/canopy sets and 2-seat canopy is too big for such small airframe, it looks a bit like a trainer) I'm more than happy with a Soviet classic lightest 9.12 with concave fuselage without humpback, this one is a rocketship
  3. +1, IR supressors should be possible to remove like on Gazelle
  4. For sure not a Vietnam era, but both F-16 and F-18 are pure Cold War era machines designed specifically to fight massive Soviet air force over Europe. Obviously 2007 versions have nothing to do in a Cold War scenario, even with restricted weapons (and mid '2000 they are rather bombers than fighters) but pure analog lightweight super nimble F-16A shooting down dozens of Arab MiGs in a close dogfights over Syria with Sidewinders and Gun only in early '80s, before MiG-29 became operational, or manually bombing Iraqi Baghdad nuclear reactor with dumb bombs screams Cold War! Mirage F.1 did a lot of job in the Middle East, but on the Iraqi side against Iran, Turkey, US and later Desert Storm. Libya used them also in combat.
  5. So what would be even the point of PG map if it doesn't represent the region during practically the only serious military conflict? Fictional scenarios only? Strange choice. It would be like: let's make a Vietnam map. But you know what, WW2 era or year 2000...
  6. Every Hornet variant was good for a low speed turn on a dime.
  7. Interesting. Good to know.
  8. I remember flying over the snowy Caucasus in Lock On. In A-10A with european cold war green camo. It was really nice having all four seasons.
  9. I didn't expect to see it over the deck again.
  10. The only desert map i really wanted was Kuwait Iraq Iran SA border for Gulf War Desert Storm and Iraq-Iran War. I thought i was an obvious choice but we have Persian Gulf map instead. IDK why.
  11. Sounds great, where can i find this thread?
  12. We have Hormuz strait map. F-14A, F-5E, Gazelle and Huey for the Iran. MiG-21, Mi-8, Mi-24 and Mirage F.1, MiG-23, MiG-29A in developement for Iraq. Only oranian F-4 Phantom will be missing.
  13. I've heard Boeing is ending its suppurt to the AH-64D and encourages foreign buyers to upgrade to AH-64E Guardian standard. It may be the reson why ED was able to negotiate the license for AH-64D.
  14. Exactly the same, '70s version is in it's proper timeline when it can compete in air combat against other fighter. Exotic MFD version may be slighty better per se, but a lot worse in relation to its enviroment. I would like a face lift with slightly better cockpit/exterior graphics, VR cockpit geometry and bug free. Especially now when F-5E will soon be needed for proper Iraq-Iran war 1982-1988, since we have a map and soon practically all involved aircrafts and helicopters used in the conflict.
  15. What happened to the video on the first page? I can't play it anymore. I can't find in in YT either.
  16. Full fidelity fighter variant F-15A or C "not a single pound for air to ground" would be great, but i don't think it would be wise to have three different variants made by 3 different teams, FC3 F-15C by ED, F-15E by RAZBAM and F-15A or C by Heatblur. They would result in repeating each other's work, wasting the time and finally presenting inconsistent modules. Our best hope for fighter F-15 will be RAZBAM F-15A/C derived from F-15E or ED upgrading existing F-15C to the full fidelity standard. All aircrafts people propose here for Heatblur looks fantastic F-111, F-4, Draken, Tornado When i think about what HB said, A-6 has been revealed earlier than they wanted due to some guys guessed they wouldn't be making A-6 only to make an AI aircraft... This strongy suggest J35 Draken may be one of the two non revealed modules. Oh yeah!
  17. Rafale would be even less realistic than Typhoon because Heatblur doesn't have any real life Rafale pilots. So it would be both, everything would be classified and not allowed to be disclosed and the lack of knowledge of the real life pilots at the same time. Good luck.
  18. This. I don't think it's fair to compare anything, even Hornet, which US Navy decommissioned years ago (and practically replaced by the Superhornet a decade ago) to todays classified Europe's Top Dog. The leading phrase of the last interview with Gero is his quote summing up the interview pretty well: "I'm not even sure if i could say that". Basically good half of the interview is suggesting in a differen way which systems, parameters, modes, weapons, sensors can't be included in the module because they are strictly classified. And others we can't mention or even admit they exist at all. Few times he sounds like being afraid to even say something or comment some questions. Which obviously left me with mixed feelings. We definitely haven't had such a situation at DCS before. This cannot even be compared to the current F-16 or F-18, which have a big amount of declassified materials, F-16 FM base on declassified NASA wind tunnet tests and so on. The remaining 20-30 DCS modules are usually declassified aircrafts that could be modeled faithfully based on the available hard data and declassified documentation. To sum up - manage your expectations. Every sane person understands Eurofighter will require more guess work and more ommited systems than other DCS aircrafts. Let's focus on positive sides. They are commited to original early German variant they know about. It will be European fighter. It will be developed under Heatblur's supervision. It will have unique aerodynamic configuration of delta-canard. It will be pure fighter with impresive thrust to weight and wing loading. They have a real life Eurofighter pilot on board. It looks exeptionally good for my taste. It touches EF2000 nostalgia. Whatever they will do it's going to be the most realistic non military Eurofighter simulator ever created.
  19. Agree. That's why i always prefer '80s or at most Gulf War Sparrows, Sidewinders, R-60, R-73, R-23/4, R-40, R-27 and so on which can be modeled very close to the real device, with electronics way simpler than an old caclulator, the simplest guidance, mostly declassified, tested in real warfare against real enemy and proved real life effectiveness against different aircrafts in different situations etc. "the aim-120, the aim-9x, the r77" will always be guessing and balancing. (let alone Meteor from 2021) But your ethics is the best quality mark DCS module can have, i adore all your products, that's why i'm excited for the Eurofighter, go Heatblur!
  20. Yes. I'm excited for the Eurofighter. If it will be realistically modeled it's going to be unique and interesting aircraft. Probably day 1 preorder for me. Especially now when HB is guaranteeing it's quality. But i'm not excited for this whole Meteor missile. German Luftwaffe is upgrading their Typhoons to be capable to use them only in 2021. First we don't have anything in DCS from this timeline to realistically shoot it with this missile. Second, every sane person understand very well it can't be modeled in realistic way. Even it's data or engine can't be disclosed. Let alone the electronic part.
  21. Do you have a link? I didn't find it on Hoggit. I quoted Heatblur official FAQ published 5 hours ago, not 1 year old as 1 year ago Heatblur had nothing to do with Eurofighter.
  22. Outdated? Heatblur wrote this 5 hours ago. When did this information become outdated? What has changed during this 5 hours?
  23. Did Intruder have digital panel? I always thought it was an epitome of analog switches steam gauge cockpit like Phantom or Tomcat...
