Is there an Issue with the TPOD locking a target.....
Spurts replied to badger7966's topic in AV-8B N/A
^^^ This gets me all the time. -
Every time I fly the Huey over the Marianas my brain starts playing Fortunate Son.
-
No, that's for when they do a B-25 Module (Carrier Compatable)

F-14B afterburner makes plane tilt up & down

The issue is that you are using AP in a way that it isn't designed for. -

well that will do it. Alt Hold is not designed to cope with AB accelerations, it can't command trim change fast enough. -
LOL! Good one! I genuinely laughed.

What are you doing with the stick during this time? What speed do you see this in? -
I'm patient, I can wait.

and there is a vast chasm of range between APG-73 and APG-71. As to non-range factors, sure I 100% can buy it being the best Mechscan.

Does the DCS 2023 & Beyond trailer hint at a F-14D?
Spurts replied to JupiterJoe's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
And a ITAR restricted IRST. HeatBlur doesn't care about "can we make it look right" they need "can we make it function right". It's not a matter of "Do HUDs and MFDs" exist, it's a matter of "how does the HUD and MFD process data to generate the display and what is the page mapping. And again, the IRST is controlled and access to the doc is restricted. -
Agree. I think I have one DCS World Module (A-10C and FC3 predated DCS World) that can't land on a boat, the F-16. Everything else is either Naval or a Helo. <checks notes> I have the Community A-4, AV-8B, F-14, F/A-18, and Su-33. Is that all the official (and one official quality, that A-4 is a masterpiece) Naval planes?
-
That's a big ask of a small antenna. Should be better than any mechscan smaller than the above, but those planes have massive size advantages which improve power and gain which is a 3 part improvement to the radar range equation. Captor-M would have to rely solely on signals processing capability to catch up.

What I hear a lot from the old guard is that many (not all) of the Tomcat Mx problems were lack of parts, the Navy/Pentagon/Congress just didn't order them. Effectively, the Tomcat was on a fiscal <profanity>-list before it ever entered service. I have heard that as more and more squadrons were transitioned that parts became plentiful and Mx wasn't really a problem. -
And the II+ Harrier
-
That's still being mounted onto the II+ radar birds, not NA birds.
-
Harrier profile wanted for the TM Warthog HOTAS?
Spurts replied to Comrade Vodka's topic in AV-8B N/A
Agree. Only I know what inputs I need for the way I fly the plane. -
That's what I was getting at, there has been no confirmation
-
people are allowed to have their favorites. I've been a Viper fan since 1988, but when push comes to shove I tend to find myself only flying the Tomcat or Harrier depending on the mission. @Nahen is obviously "not a pound for air to ground" guy, or more accurately "not air to air, then I don't care." F-15 is a great module and it is definitely the one I recommend for people curious about DCS.
-
Find the mistake... Does this weapon mount correspond to reality?
Spurts replied to kotor633's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah, that Sprrow station IRL was only available if nothing other than more Sparrows were carried up front. DCS limitation. If you want to be realistic then edit the loadout to remove it. -
While RAZBAM has already said they won't do it due to the changes to the FM, it was certainly interesting to see a lightly armed F-15E with no pods, no CFTs, WITH wing tanks take off preceded by a full up F-15E with CFTs and pods and no munitions.

And low speed maneuvering. And SEAD. And ASh.

Yeah the focal distance it wonky for that, following
-
I used to use ATC but I find getting it trimmed and flying the throttle to be easier.
-
And it's also possible that I missed part of this thread. No matter how accurate a module is made, there will always be 10% of the users who find fault, that it is either too gamey in some aspects or not gamey enough for balanced PVP. Those 10% will complain, generating 90% of the noise. We see this going BOTH directions with the F-14 right now. "The FM/Phoenix sux and needs a buff for PVP play" and "the implementation of the target aspect size switch isn't accurate for the AIM-54A and needs fixing." No matter how accurate or "arcadey" the Intruder is, people will complain. Either that the trim doesn't function the proper way or the they want JDAMs for the lolz. When I say I can't wait to get my hands on it, it's because I trust HB to do what they have done with the F-14D... "If we can't do it accurately and legally then we won't do it" I have not seen anything that A-6 docs for the intended version were ITARed, so AFAIK it will be made. Clear as mud?
