It's a fox1, I never lost lock.

Tacview-20220719-212057-DCS-backseat trainer.zip.acmi no ECM settings at all in ME, so I don't know what the defaults are.

hmm, then issue #2 might be dumb luck timing with the first missile running out of power as soon as I fired the second... And thank you for verifying that illuminator lobe-width is not something in DCS.
-
So for issue #2 of losing track as soon as I fire a second missile, is that a current DCS-ism? For issue one of guiding to the wrong target, I will review my tacview for the first shot but it LOOKED like it tracked a different target than what missile 2 destroyed. I initially assumed it was because both targets were within the beam, but I don't know how big the beam in DCS is. I can check the Mission Editor to see what the jamming settings were to see if we can rule this out.

Not sure if this is a bug yet so not putting it as such. Last night I flew to intercept a few Tu-22s with AIM-7MHs. When I fired the bombers broke and dove, sure, no big deal. After a bit I decided the first missile was trashed and I fired a second one. My pilot (I was backseat) managed to snap our wings off but I was able to watch a bomber explode before we ejected. Later I checked the Tacview. We never lost lock, but the two missiles seemed to go after two different targets. Oddity number 1 Missile 1 stopped guiding the instant I fired missile 2. I will have to check my reference docs, but I was pretty sure the Tomcat had 6 channels for communicating with Sparrows, shouldn't that let me guide more than one at a target? Oddity number 2

I think something most people need to understand is that when you witch to the back seat Iceman doesn't try to do "Attitude hold and leave the throttles where they are" he more tries to "keep speed, altitude, and heading at time of switch"

Only when you cherry pick your data. As I pointed out replay desync can happen with non AI modules. It doesn't matter who made them or if the cockpits are clickable. They desync which means your overarching statement of " the only common denominator between the ones that have broken replay tracks is AI multicrew. " is demonstrably incorrect. -

except I have had track desyc in SP missions with Harrier, Su-27, and F-15, so that is not the only common denominator. -

it is so much more than Jester. I have always had replay issues with every module. -

I knew about that F-15 kill, there was also an AIM-7 and AIM-9 kill in that same engagement. -

Thanks for the update. I didn't realize the Israelis were still so heavily gun focused that late. -

MiG-17 is a 1952 jet. Nesher is likely given low missile armament and high number of kills attributed, Mirage III is possible but is also noted for kills with French missiles, F-4E is doubtful to me. Even though it has the gun the 8AAM loadout leads me to doubt how often it got gun kills. Looking at US record in Vietnam as an example the F-4E got 23 kills, 11 AIM-7, 5 AIM-9, 5 20mm, and 2 Maneuver. So without hard numbers I'd say 50% odds that the MIIIC beats 24.5, 80% odds that the Nesher does, and maybe 40% odds that the F-4E did. -

Please enlighten me, what post 1953 aircraft has more than 24.5 gun kills? Not sarcasm, honest curiosity. I can't think of what else does at 6am before finishing my first cup of coffee. -
Sanity check - speed too low on carrier approach?!
Spurts replied to TEMPEST.114's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I mean, nothing in the above is wrong, but I just want to add that the Tomcat on approach is +-10kts slower than a Hornet. So while the LSO is cuing off of AoA (which would be the correct thing to judge as it auto accounts for weight) to determine speed, an "on speed" Tomcat is slower than an "on speed" Hornet. -

I know, it's just hilarious to me that a low level nuclear bomber (the F-105s original mission) had more gun kills than all other US types in that war combined. Likewise that the only aircraft in US service to get a gun kill since that war is the A-10. -

The F-105 has more gun kills than any other type built after the Korean War. -
