It’s never been explained so well, thanks Hope ED find the problem, I’m loving the Apache, amazing module, but I’m not flying so much in the night because of PNVS problem. I use TADS instead (bit more smooth) but of course CPG needs more than me, lol.
-
Usually happens to me first time in a flight, but I center VR and I can switch between necksafer view and forward view without recentering again.
-
need track replay George will not unslave the tads to center.
nachomaga replied to CrazyGman's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, in the initial release, TADS remaind in the FXD forward position when you say George cease fire. I know is personal, but I prefer this way. -
Hajahah Good story, I feel your pain Almost happen to me sometimes, that’s why I prefer the “Consent to fire” key (and yellow George AI interface).
-
Nope. As I said before, when helo is turning and head more or less fixed, PNVS video is very smooth, like all scenary around.
-
@NineLine here you have the track. Anyway, I watched in VR but the the head movements are not visible. In 2D movements are visible. Hope it helps, thanks again. AH-64D PNVS stuttering.trk
-
Not in my case, with the head in fixed position PNVS is very smooth while turn the helicopter.
-
Swift, the opposite happens to me in VR, hehehe... Thanks for reported back. Anyway, even with slow head movement, PNVS seems more laggy than TADS. I said in another thread, in day light I even see a bit of stuttering in PVNS sensor movement in the nose. I’ll do a track too.

AH-64D IHADSS lines thickness edit
nachomaga replied to nachomaga's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It’s in the first post, there are three types of lines, the default value for the wider ones is 5.0, I believe, I put 2.0. You can try thinner, like frostycab says. -
Cursor controller - switching between MPDs
nachomaga replied to Rifter's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Yes, I have to add dead zone too, I think 6 or 8... -
Yes, I tried every setting in “Res. Cockpit Displays”, but no luck.

pokeraccio, Casmo is talking about the different slew rate between PNVS and TADs, PNVS being faster (120 degress per second). But we are talking here about refresh rate, is like the PNVS goes for 12 fps while movig the head, and all around is nice and smooth. Even when you move your head very slow, you get a bit of lag and shaky image. I know it would be difficult for developers (and perfomance wise, hehe) but this kind of level of smoothness would be really nice:
-
I have same issue (Reverb G2 here), no problem with NVG but with PNVS is not smooth tracking. I can even feel a bit even with only the HIDASS symbology. From pilot seat you can see this small “lag” even in the PNVS sight in the nose. Not a perfomance issue, I see good frame rate in the rest of the scenary. Weird, If I selected TADS in the HDM it seems the refresh rate is faster than PVNS, but of course the turning rate is slower. I tried PVNS with accelerate time just for testing and is very smooth, so strange.

AH-64D IHADSS lines thickness edit

I did a quick flight in 4YA PvP combat server with IC on, and no problem. -

I’ll try that, thanks Immel! -
AH-64D IHADSS lines thickness edit

Hahaha. Anyway I suppose is a matter of taste. Perhaps in a screen without VR, thick lines work better. -
AH-64D IHADSS lines thickness edit
nachomaga replied to nachomaga's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Here you have some pictures, Beirut. The effect is less subtle in VR. First screenshot is default lines, second is edited .lua. By the way, works in all symbologies. -
I found some IHADSS lines a bit too thick (specially in VR) and reading topics how to edit this lines in F/A-18C, I found this .lua file: DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AH-64D\Cockpit\Scripts\Displays\DSPLS\DSPLS_Symbology.lua There is values for Norm, Narrow and Wide thickness, I leave all in 2.0 (make a backup, just in case): THICKNESS_NORM = 2.0 FUZZINESS_NORM = 2.0 THICKNESS_NARROW = 2.0 FUZZINESS_NARROW = 2.0 THICKNESS_WIDE = 2.0 FUZZINESS_WIDE = 2.0 I have to test in MP to check IC.

Already reported, the solution for now is to start both engines at the same time, both start switches, wait a bit, and both power levers to idle.
-
Happens to me too from time to time, I think even before the last update. Open DCS, start a quick mission, landed... all ok. Close the mission, open a new one and the Apache has the same controller positions that were in the last moment of first mission (viewing controls in Ctrl+Enter). You can see even in a cold start that the stick and the rudder are not center. Solution for me: in the second mission I move a bit stick and rudder to center before taking off.

fixed internally Engine no.2 does not spool up and shuts down
nachomaga replied to cgjimeneza's topic in Bugs and Problems
Grizzley, I just try again the Persian Gulf cold start instant mission (with a wingman) and the start engines at the same time workaround is working for me. Good for me until we get a fix. -

Is already reported in another thread. Happens to me only in Syria and PG map, not in Causacus, weird. Didn’t try what Bong suggest, but if I start the two engines at the same time and move both power levers to idle, (and then to Fly) it works. -
For now, you can't switch seats in MP, only in Single Player. You must jump in a new Slot. It seems now you can do it in the Tomcat, would be nice to do in the Apache too.
