So I've been reading a lot about the Hornet so far and watched the awesome live streams. Based on the info, it seems that the Early Access Hornet will be comparable to the A model in terms of sensors / weapons? I didn't put a lot of time researching about the A model Hornet, but if you look at A-A radar with Sparrows, Sidewinders, no smart weapons or sensors it resembles the EA, C that we will soon get, right?

As far as we know, you are right to say that OB is currently the same as release. We haven't seen an update with fixes/ features for over a month. But ED are working on it. When the time comes I'm sure we will be ready :)

The most interesting part in the video was the HUD's refresh rate. Definitely lower compared to more modern aircraft - looks super realistic, this is great!

Update is out now. Haven't tested it yet, but according to the changelog this problem should be fixed.

+1 Would be great if we can have a consolidated update log across DCS.

I really hope that this is indeed being worked on. I also have to 'shelf' all my campaign missions that take place at night, it's just unplayable.

Thanks so much for the updates! So much to look for. Anything done regarding smoke generated by various missiles? What I would really like to see is smoke that stays longer in the air, the current model dissipates way too fast for A-A and Maverick missiles.

Thanks ED for the fantastic 2.5 release, even though it's beta, it looks extremely promising! From what I've seen so far, this version contains a lot of new visual treats: - Lighting effects - Ground explosions - Clouds - New Tree system - Waves - Flak explosions (WIP) - Tracers (AAA) I wanted to know if you plan to release additional effects in the coming months? Would really appreciate new air explosions and longer lasting smoke trails. Are those planned at all? Any other visual effects we should expect?

The FM of the Mig-15 is one of the best in DCS. Pure joy to fly.

I don't see an options folder, you mean the options.lua file? I have the same issue.

I tried to assign it as you suggested -from the HOTAS section but it won't pick it up. There is no button assigned to the microstick, only if I press it, it reads button_1 What am I doing wrong? When I click the Axis Assign button from the HOTAS menu, it just takes me back to the axis window where I cannot assign the microstick to TDC slew.

I need your assistance. Since updating to DCS 2.5 I seem to have lost my TM Warthog TDC slew function in the throttle. Everything else works fine. Attached is a screenshot of the issue - it appears as if the TDC slew can only be assigned to a mouse controller? Never had that before.

The encouraging thing is that when it's finally released, it will be in a better shape than other modules in early access. I think someone mentioned that it will feel almost complete in regards to FM and systems.

You need to differentiate between the FM and the avionics when you ask which module will be easier. If you are referring to the flight model, then the F18 should be easier to fly 'as you want it to' thanks to FBW. If you are referring to avionics though then I think the F18 would be a bit steeper to learn just because of its huge avionics suite.

I don't remember that ED allowed another module to be released while there is currently another available for pre-purchase. So I assume we won't see the Tomcat released (or any other module) before the summer.

Sorry if it was mentioned before, but do we have a list of features that are coming in 2.5 besides the obvious "merge"? In 2.2 I can already see the new explosions and clouds, but do we know of anything else that will be available with the initial 2.5 launch at the end of January? Thanks,

Hi all, With the upcoming release of DCS 2.5 I thought it would good to know a few things related to hardware. I currently run DCS on a 7200 RPM HDD. I plan to buy a SSD just for 2.5 when its release. - Do we know if 2.5 will be a brand new install, or an update for 2.2? - Can I just copy the current installations of DCS to the new SSD and it will work, or do I need to change the OS registry? - Is there a way to clone a HDD to a SSD, is there a freeware software for that?
