  1. Sometimes you just have to say an f-16 is an f-16. Same with Israeli f-16s, same with Omani ones for the Hormuz map
  2. Are u asking why two different types of lighting, or are you asking how to switch between the two?
  3. Set up curves in your axis tuning. Make sure your collective channel isn't reversed like mine was. I think I have a 25-30% curve on all axes. It can be fun to fly, but I need to work on stable hovering
  4. Which dcs version are you on? I played thru that whole campaign without trouble on 256 stable a couple weeks ago and had no issues (just finished the border as well)
  5. Fine, disregarded then.
  6. I've always found it to be too bright, even in 2.5.5 and earlier. Adjusting it has become part of my preflight routine
  7. I'd hesitate to call a Pac-3 mse a multistage rocket/missile. Dual pulsed motors are a delay bulkhead placed in the fuel source using the same motor/nozzle assembly. A multi-stage system jettisons spent fuel/motor assemblies 6 in one, half a dozen in another I suppose
  8. While not a long range missile, stingers are sort of two-stage. They have a launch motor to get the missile clear of the tube & operator, and a second motor in the missile Launch motor can be seen trailing the missile in this image: In general, two stage rockets are more complex, expensive and while they're more fuel efficient in the terminal stage, they're less efficient up front. In the end, it's a solution in search of a problem when single stage missiles get a sufficient PK as it is
  9. Ai helicopters seem to be piloted by retards in general. I had no problems in spring tension, except once or twice crashing into LZs or having equipment failures at the tarp. But now I'm halfway through the border campaign. On mission 9 I had one fly I to the side of a mountain, another dive into a river while I was engaging enemy troops. Then on the next mission, I flew about half the mission before one of the AIs clipped me and sent me hurtling to the ground
  10. leave that for x-plane. yak-38, on the other hand...
  11. Could go either way with that. The Russian devs, ugra and octopus, both operate under strict radio silence, choosing not to engage the playerbase at all. I don't know if it's a linguistic thing, I haven't checked whether they're more active on the Russian forum, or if it's just the way they do business of showing little and saying even less.
  12. I flew it just fine to completion in 2.5.5 stable. Haven't had a reason to revisit it in 2.5.6
  13. the settings are the same for the old version of the Kuz. you can also select "takeoff from parking" if you wish to take off from further aft on the deck,\
  14. Not sure whats going wrong on your end, but I've flown off the Kuz plenty of times with ka-50 , in both it's original & supercarrier versions
  15. I had no problems with guv yesterday. It's been about 2 weeks since I used 12.7, but it was working as well. I used it during spring tension campaign, now halfway through border campaign. Which mission are u flying?
  16. Someone recently had a similar issue with a hawk pattery recently. Which Sam were u having trouble with?
  17. Wags mentioned third party hind. ED is doing it. It could very well be the Apache, but I wouldn't read too much into this old statement
  18. Rotary wing: Hind. Nothing new here, warszawarc. WIP images have already been shown
  19. Thank you, zhukov032186
  20. Wow, ok I thought it was just me experiencing this
  21. Iran is for aviation guys what Cuba is for car guys
  22. A note on what I mentioned for CEP , I've found federation of American sciences lists scud B at 900m, and center for strategic & international studies lists it at 450m Possible someone mixed diameter and radius? Or people working from wildly different sources of data
  23. I doubt we'll ever see such a thing from ED, but I can tell you from experience that if you like watching paint dry, a SAM module will be exciting
  24. Chizh- see above, actual dispersion is quite a bit greater than 1km@300 (unless you calculate dispersion the same way CEP is calculated) Will Patriot be able to engage scuds now that they're functioning?
  25. Both are realistic. Some of these missiles have a tendency to break apart mid-air. This was particularly true of iraqi-modified or iraqi-manufactured variants On the second point, these are not precise weapons. Scud-B has a CEP of 900 meters, meaning it has a 50% chance of landing somewhey within a 900m radius circle centered on the target point. Not so precise indeed
