That's fine, I think an OB update once a month is wonderful. I think players will be happier with fewer yet higher quality patches, and for programmers & but hunters, it must be nice to not be living under a crunch situation week in and week out. For the public faces of ED- wags, newey-,9line, Nick grey, and any others I failed to mention- there must be a real sense of relief at not having to bear the brunt of anger& frustration week in& week out. All told, I think it's a positive direction. The question is: what is the wait time after releasing an OB patch to check the general consensus of whether we have a keeper of whether we need to go back to the drawing board & iron out a few more things. How long do they allot to determining whether a build is stable-ready?

valves near monopoly on video game distribution means theres a large amount of players on that platform that can be exposed to dcs who otherwise wouldnt be i suppose then it becomes a question of whether a lot of modules sold for a reduced profit is better than a reduced number of modules sold for full profit
-
sales start earlier& run longer on standalone, generally
-
nice, thats pretty much what the dude saw in the video posted above

Probably valve got salty they weren't getting their cut of the $$$ when you could move things from ED store to people's steam account, I imagine
-
Steam doesn't give miles. EDs program adds up to a nice discount

Anything in particular pointing to that date? If the feedback has been largely positive, unlike the recent trainwrecks, and there hasnt been a need to issue a hotfix, how long should it take to decide if a build is ready for the big time? Also, i want to emphasize i wasnt trying to pin ED to a date, just are we cold?warm? Hot? Are there a few loose ends to tie up, or do things look good for a stable update in the near future?

This is what i originally expected, which begs the question why is this a separate dev if its sole task was to integrate a feature into an aviodev aircraft, and that task is complete?

Makes no sense that belly rails cannot hold Air-Air missiles
ngreenaway replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in M-2000
Can you find documentation that shows that they can on the -C model? Or are you merely speculating? What i found ( https://www.airvectors.net/avmir2k.html )states: Primary armaments of the Mirage 2000C in the interceptor role were the Matra Super 530 medium-range semi-active radar-guided air to air missile (AAM) on on the inboard wing pylons, and the Matra Magic short-range infrared-seeking AAM on the outboard wing pylons. The Mirage 2000C could also carry air-to-ground stores, such as iron bombs, cluster bombs, or Matra 68-millimeter rocket pods, in its secondary strike role. It had no smart munitions capability, though it could carry laser-guided bombs (LGBs) if another aircraft or ground forces provide designation. If there was an advantage to loading up AA missiles on all hardpoints, or on the belly ones, i cant see the military arbitrarily passing that up. While it doesn't make sense from where youre sitting, there could be a reason for it , such as (&im only speculating here) lack of a compatible data connection between the fighter and missile on those pylons or other incompatibilities -
What's the outlook on a stable patch? On patch status, both ob and stable are listed as "TBA"

I'm like you: speculating based on past experiences only to opposite conclusions

There's room in the virtual skies for all of us. I don't care if he wears a saddle and "neighs" around his house, Eldur has been as much a community asset as the rest of us, and even more than some of the prolific-complainers and tantrum throwers

Tieing in a COTS GPS into civilian aircraft, even an older one isn't quite the same as adapting it to a 70s era military aircraft may be a whole different story Consider this: when I was in the army, I had to replace a number of keyboards in the patriot ECS - we were spending approximately $3000 each for these special keyboards that tied into the 70s era electronics infrastructure when a USB keyboard costs all of what? 10$ for a generic one? It's possible that there would be a way to retrofit one of these to the c101 avionics, but I'd be skeptical about it
-
oh yea, modules are available sooner and sales are longer for standalone than for steam
-
I dont think so, since ugra hasnt made anything to bundle with it
-
look, i really really want the an-2 in dcs, but unfortunately it doesnt seem the dev really looks or responds here, so i doubt we'll ever see it. thats a shame, id be happy with even an fc3 level an-2 over a full fidelity c130

Im sure settings port over, u can save ur controller settings ( i make backups before any updates just in case) To me, it doesn't make sense to go on steam. Im not comfortable with the monopoly valve has over video game distribution. If you go standalone, you benefit yourself as well as the devs if you plan on buying more modules. Steam takes a chunk out of the payment to the devs, so theyre better supported by you buying direct If you buy direct from ed, you earn a cumulative bonus that doesn't exist on steam. Look at the Miles program ED has....currently ive accumulated $53 worth of discount thats just waiting for the Hind to drop :)

isnt it weird how people can have such wildly different experiences with the same piece of software? i understand differences in hardware, but still... i hear peoples complaints sometimes of unplayable/awful/unusable/whatever...while mine works just fine, and i think, "are we really playing the same game?" of course, having all the modules& playing on stable means if something slips thru and something doesnt work on one aircraft, i can just switch to another for awhile but from a troubleshooting perspective, it must be maddening for the bug chasers to iron out the software when there isnt even a commonality to many peoples experiences
-
ya know, i figured Incirlik would have the hard core hardened shelters like these at Ali al Salem
-
seems about right. would be strange if a commercial off-the-shelf gps could crosstalk with military avionics even if the gns430 has outputs to talk with other systems, and cant see the c101s avionics having provision to tie in with the system , or that they would even be using the same communication protocol
-
that would be useful, because i only fly in VR, but i prefer to do mission editor in 2d
-
Standalone dcs will launch steam vr on its own, no need to launch it yourself

I know the feeling. Not with this map, it was a foregone conclusion that itd be an insta-buy for me ( ive toyed with the idea of retiring to israel, but my wife complains that even tel aviv was too hot for her) But ive had modules that i bought simply because i didnt want to think anymore whether or not to buy
