470 is insane for just a 32GB kit RAM, but when i decided to go with DDR5 i was totally aware of the fact, that it's going to be expensive. My 6800K served me pretty good for the last 5 years, but i was desperate for an upgrade now. Will sell this kit and upgrade to 64GB once the prices are more consumer friendly...

Garantiert nicht. Mit nem 1KW Netzteil wird man auch die nächste und übernächste Generation an Hardware noch zuverlässig betreiben können. Sofern es dann noch lebt, ich tausche meine Netzteile grundsätzlich spätestens nach 5 Jahren aus. Und so einen gewaltigen Leistungssprung wie von der GTX 9XX auf die GTX 10XX Serie (wobei da auch nicht die doppelte Leistung geliefert wurde) gab es seither nicht mehr. Und wird es wohl auch mit der nächsten Generation nicht geben. Zumindest glaub ich es erst, wenn es belastbare Benchmarks gibt. Egal was die Hersteller wieder alles versprechen und ankündigen, die erzählen einem immer viel. @Sofapiloz Gratulation zu deinem neuen Rechner. Oder sollte ich besser sagen zum DDR5 RAM? Alles andere ist ja weniger problematisch bezüglich Verfügbarkeit. Ich habs jetzt nach 5 Wochen warten auch endlich geschafft welchen zu bekommen. Und genau wie Du wollte ich auch gleich wieder 64GB haben, aber das war mir dann ehrlich gesagt zu teuer. Fast 500€ für 32GB war schon saftig, mit den nächsten 32GB warte ich da lieber bis sich die Preise etwas beruhigt haben.

Yes. Managed to grab a 32GB kit G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6000 Cl-36 for 470€. Not realy cheap, but compared to the price of a DDR4-4000+ kit (and those scalper prices on ebay) i guess it's okay. Not to talk about the same kit was 590€ just one day later...

If it's within your budget, you should realy do. The difference is night and day. Lange_666 explained everything worth to consider pretty good, nothing more to say. Maybe one thing more if it wasn't clear: Virpil uses the same connector as TM does, so you can use the Warthog grip on the Virpil base.

Solange jemand Zeit hat, werd ich den auch nicht Solo fliegen. Aber auf irgendwelche Randoms hab ich keinen Bock und von anderen abhängig machen will ich meine Fliegerei auch nicht. Wenn der Apache zum Download verfügbar ist, werd ich wohl erstmal gar nichts anderes fliegen...

Und dann drauf angewiesen sein, über die Feiertage immer einen Coop-Partner zu haben wenn man fliegen will? Nö, lieber nochmal eine kleine Verschiebung und dafür dann richtig Solo spielen können wenn der Vogel zum download bereit steht.

Was meinst Du mit "Schalteraufsätze"? Die Ausrichtung der beiden Drehregler für Position und Formation Lights weicht bei mir etwas von den Markierungen ab, die beiden Schubhebel sind nicht 100% synchron wenn man sie arretiert. Und der Slew Control gibt in der Nullstellung seit Anbeginn auf der X-Achse permanenten Input, was sich nur mit einer 10% Deadzone lösen lies. Ansonsten kann ich über das Gerät nichts negatives sagen. Naja, ist bei einem knapp ~700,-€ teuren Throttle aber schon viel zu viel negatives... Für den Preis müsste der eigentlich 100%ig perfekt sein.

Blaue Feder und den Silikonring für den Warthog bestellt. Versand war sehr schnell und damals noch kostenfrei (kam per Couvert). Sahaj ist absolut zuverlässig, Du brauchst Dir keine Sorgen machen.

There are quite a few out there made from aluminium and i would at least recommend one with a radiator (and cooler block) made from copper, as copper transfers heat much better than aluminium. Also aluminium is very "critical" when using liquid metal (gallium) instead of conventional thermal paste. Well, critical may not be the correct term as gallium completely destroys coolers made from aluminium. Propably unimportant for the TO as i wouldn't recommend gallium for unexperienced users, but you know... just sayin'...

Welche Software meinst Du denn? Die TARGET Software die beim Warthog mitgeliefert wird? Falls es um die geht solltest Du wissen, dass TARGET alle Deine Geräte die im Profil aktiv sind zu einem einzigen virtuellen DirectX-Controller zusammenfügt, sobald du das Profil startest. Ist schon eine Weile her, dass ich den Warthog benutzt habe. Ich hoffe ich bekomme das noch richtig zusammen. Ein DirectX Controller kann nur 8 Achsen ansteuern und mit dem Warthog HOTAS hast Du schon 7 Achsen zusammen (Stick = 2 Achsen, Throttle 2 = Achsen, Slew Control = 2 Achsen und zu guter Letzt noch eine Achse auf dem Slider). Wenn Du nun die Pedale ( Achsen) auch im Profil aktiviert hast, kommst Du also über die maximale Anzahl an Achsen hinaus und es können daher nicht alle Achsen erkannt werden. In dem Fall musst Du die Pedale aus dem Profil entfernen, dann sollte es funktionieren. In TARGET solltest Du auch nur die Knöpfe/Kippschalter belegen und die Achsen dann in DCS selbst. Falls TARGET dein Problem ist, hilft dir das hoffentlich etwas weiter. Viele Grüße.

That sounds good, thanks for the heads up. Coming from a 6800K, i will hopefull see even more improvement in VR than you did. That 12900K may at least be able to properly feed my GPU then... Just a few questiond. What RAM did you go with? How are your temps going and what kind of cooling do you use? That was my concern as well. Your MB seems to be a pretty good one, so this should perfectly do the job. I grabbed the MSI MPG Z690 Carbon as planned. Was a good deal, as i got it for less than 400€ (instead of 450). Now waiting for some more RAM kits to be available. Cheers

Crucial does offer a 2x 32GB kit DDR5-4800 and they will propably come up with faster kits in the next few weeks i guess. G.Skill announced DDR5-7000 with already acceptable timings to be released within November. Progress with DDR5 is much faster than with DDR4. IIRC DDR4 took like a year or so until it had higher speeds than DDR3. Very different with DDR5 now as it seems. If it's only for DDR5 and not for Zen4, i realy don't think you need to wait another year...

Did you decide about any of those components yet? Regarding cost/performance, the 12700K is propably the better choice i guess. G.Skill announced DRR5-7000 with already acceptable timings beeing released within this month. One may have to sell a kidney for it, but i assume we're getting more variety in terms of brand, speed and latency soon. No. It's more like that they're not interested in sending the parts the TO already payed for. And here: Winwing is claiming something, that is definately not the truth. And telling something that is not the truth, is what? I know, some people may call it "alternative facts", but it remains what it is. A lie, plain and simple. Nein. Ob Du den X-56 Throttle nun gemeinsam mit einem X-56 Stick, TM-Stick oder Virpil Stick zusammen verwendest, interessiert DCS nicht im geringsten. Solange die Controller von DCS erkannt werden, kannst Du benutzen was Du willst. Viele Grüße

Sadly yes. And it's even more expensive over here (450€, wich is roughly 480$), but it was the only one fitting my needs (MSI, numerous USB ports) and not beeing above 500€. I still hope that they come up with one between 300€ - 400€ in the next few weeks, as i would scratch that one then. The ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-G Gaming WIFI is propably also a good option, as it's coming with a lot of USB ports and is around 360€ over here (obviously assuming you wanna go with DDR5). At least a bit cheaper, if one wants to use the word "cheap" here. I also saw some DDR5 MBs at around 200€ - 300€, but those have not too much USB ports or made by GIGABYTE. Not saying GIGABYTE is bad, but all of my RL friends use ASUS or MSI and therefore i have zero experience with them. Tbh i didn't plan to build up the system soon after purchasing the CPU, as i expected to wait until December/January for a decent MB and better RAM kits. I'm not so much afraid about the prices and availability of these, i expected the CPUs to be more critical in this regard...

Die TM Cougar MFDs kann ich auch empfehlen. Vom Preis/Leistungsverhältnis sind die auf jeden Fall sehr gut. Daneben wäre vielleicht noch DSD interessant, auch wenn die hauptsächlich auf SimRacing spezialisiert sind. Qualität ist aber erste Sahne, wenn auch nicht ganz billig. That's what i've read too, some manufactors are even said to offer them for free if your cooler is less than a year old. But i haven't found any information about any manufactor already offering adaptor kits for their existing coolers. But once the CPU arrives at my door, i'll be happy in the first place and not in a hurry anymore tbh. My old system ran 5 years, it will last another few weeks until decent coolers (adaptors) and some more RAM kits are available. My main concern was, that prices and availability of Alder Lake CPUs diverge similar to GPUs and therefore getting horribly expensive and/or hardly available...

Same here, same CPU. I've been told it WILL be delivered at the day of release. Fingers crossed, also for you. As for a mainboard, i will definately go with MSI (as always) and i think it will be with the (DDR5) MSI MPG Z690 CARBON WIFI. Sadly not available yet, at least over here. Another concern is a CPU-cooler, as there isn't much variety yet. I don't want liquid cooling and will propably have to wait until Noctua comes up with a decent one.

I'm using the same combo. You should have 19 respective 23 buttons working on the virpil base, just like using it with the Warthog base. But the buttons are mixed up, right? If that's the issue, i've had the same problem with both of my Virpil base the T50 and the WarBRD. I solved the issue by getting a ASUS BT400 Bluetooth Dongle and connecting the RS F-18 grip via BT and only use the base for axis and power. Works like a charm since then and never had any BT disconnects. Maybe you should give that a try. Cheers

Wenn man mal etwas google bemüht findet man schnell heraus, dass es nur wenige Außnahmen gibt bei denen das CE Zeichen nicht auf dem Produkt selbst (oder an einem am Produkt befestigten Schild) angebracht werden muss. Und zwar wenn das Produkt zu klein dafür ist, oder wenn es auf Grund der Art des Produkts technisch nicht möglich ist (z.B. bei Sprengstoffen). Ob es sich um einen 230v Anschluss handelt spielt keine Rolle, auf meinen RAM Riegeln ist eins drauf, auf meiner VR-Brille, auf den Virpil bases etc... alles ohne 230v Anschluss. Und wenn diese Bauteile/Geräte keines bräuchten, dann wär auch garantiert keins drauf.

I think it's about 2 weeks until PayPal decides about the case. I recently opened my first PayPal case and it was like 16 days until i got my money back. This is something they should've considered a bit earlier. I.e. when the buyer reported the missing parts and asked for them. They gave the TO the runaround, so it is completely their own fault and they'd better be haulin' ass now. Also they told him that this would effect their record and PayPal clearly said there is nothing like this. So they are obviously lying in order to fool him. Do you remember the boy who cried wolf?
