I had both stable and OB until recently, I play mostly in VR and really didn't notice much difference since last update on stable and OB, part of reason I ended up uninstalling stable.

Are both the Mirage 2000 and F1's going to be allowed on the Cold War server? I saw Enigma's video speaking about the positives of the Mirage 2000 for Cold War but looking at the list of planes, I don't see it there anymore, just the F1? Wasn't sure if both or just one Mirage variant are allowed. Thank you. Keep up the good work!

For me, it's been all good for awhile now. I was tweaking all of my inputs and going in and out of game a few times. Again, fine for me at the moment.

Me as well.. It logged me in Offline mode, I waited a few and reopened and took awhile but was in online mode. Maybe server trouble?

I have similar, 5800x and 4080 and play in VR on a HP G2, I'll have to take a screenshot of settings in next day or two. For me, between the OpenXR, graphic settings in DCS and keeping frames at 60.. it stays at 60 for most part, dropping close to urban terrain in Persian Gulf but not by much and recovers pretty quick.. I have textures and water at high, MSAA at x2 and am actually pretty happy with overall performance. I have both 2.7 stable and open on my computer, the colors and other visual aspects of open beta are far superior than stable, but so far at the expense of some minor jitters and overall performance loss, but...... I haven't opened stable in last week or two and mostly play in VR. For me, I leaned most of how to tweak and tune on this thread from the initial post and others tweaks and settings, overall I'm pretty happy.

I mostly fly in VR, improvements there i.e. multithread will go a long way, a better track/replay system. DCS is pretty awesome, nothing like it imo.

You must own the DCS F/A-18C Hornet Module Caucasus map, you have that Copy the mission into your Saved Games/DCS/Missions folder, start up DCS and select this mission I had looked for something to help me get familiar with flying around and using all the weapons.. you'll just copy this into your Saved Games/DCS/Missions folder, start up DCS, select this "Single_Player.miz" mission and upon start up, you'll be in the air and have the Mig29a right in front of you. Think of this as an "instant action" mission but your Mig29a opponent has no weapons. You can take this already set up and very basic mission and alter the load out portion and provide guns and other weapons if you'd like.

If you mean the display for the companion tool.. once I dialed in my settings, I've turned it off. You can hold CTRL+ALT and the down arrow (by default/unless you've changed) and tab thru some options there. I also have kept my FPS locked to 60 for now as my experience is really smooth (once in awhile a jitter when viewing cockpit, but I'm happy). I have Reverb G2 v2 and 5800x 32gb and 4080 and only time I see framerate drop a bit is on the deck around other planes.. I have most all settings on high as well. You are right though, this is THE BEST thing I've experienced for VR so far.. it's dope! Once you set your selection in the composite app, you can permanently select Steam VR for IL2, I actually haven't and not sure what it runs on when opening in VR.. IL2 was always a bit more optimized imo for VR, I had a good experience with that in VR with a 3070.. not sure as to why. I don't know if you can use openXR/VR for it but I guess can try? I've landed the same so far, I actually am having a harder time now playing in 2d since this as my VR experience is so solid. Not sure if I helped with anything, that's my experience so far. I hope others find this as well. I would also assume that when ED implements additional cores for gameplay, VR will come WAY up and this may be less of a thing or need?

Mine is on a 2nd pc in the house and keeps losing connection, no longer responding. Made sure network adapter can’t turn off via power management, 2.7 stable version. It’s on a 2nd pc and I’m just using within same network for track replay. No ip changes, we have good equipment etc. Maybe I’ll create a virtual container on same pc if that’ll work for purpose of tracks but I’ve read that won’t help. Also created firewall rules for DCS traffic on both client and server pcs. Would be nice if there was a viable track replay system. Or just pay monthly for a hosted dedicated server.

I tried this.. F18, Nevada Mig29 and was broken after a.) saving track b.) exiting DCS c.) replay track Bandit was doing it's own thing off the bat. Weird thing is that when I first started playing I rewatched without exiting.. and was accurate track. I really like the idea of rewatching and creating videos, I've asked the YT channels that have cockpit and other replay action how they do it, I haven't gotten a reply which I guess I don't blame them lol. I guess I can make a server on a 2nd PC in the house. If you install DCS's dedicated server on a 2nd pc for purposes of getting better tracks.. can you log in with same user / pass as your primary account? I just have the one

I've been using a Reverb G2 with a MSI 4080, Single player and mostly High settings MSAA 2, Clouds High and pretty solid 60fps. Multi slows down in spots to 30-40 which I expected from reading others experiences.. awesome. Not sure the differences between original Reverb as far as ports but I hope you have as good a visual experience as I'm having. As I get more experience and play on Multi and Servers more, I've no problem scaling down the eye candy a bit for a solid experience. It's what VR was expected to look like imo. I've a 5800x 32gb which I also read less than 64gb can be a shortcoming.

This is what I'd like to do, and apologies if this information is somewhere already, but what is the easiest way to have 2 installs and keep or transfer bindings for controllers etc? Thank you in advance!

I prefer on desk, above anything that can spill on top of it and being higher helps reduce dust and cleaning intervals.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but, is this still an issue? I play in 2d and VR and have had my sync box checked.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the work put in to give a much improved experience, I had tweaked and massaged settings as much as I could.. this tweak made a pretty big difference, even with a 4080. I had previously tweaked settings and used an oculus q2 before the G2 V2 and between Steam VR and Oculus VR the other 3070 I had definitely worked but not the experience I had hoped for. Installing a 4080 solved lots of woes of course, but I felt like the experience should be better and setting up per instructions, started with the repair tool, then open XR and followed to a T, I installed the OpenXR tools but haven't tweaked anything there yet. I can report an improved experience even with the 4080 for sure! I have a 5800x, 32gb and run off the NVME.. was a decent experience with the 3070 but again, between the upgrade and subsequently following this, I am now impressed. I haven't tried Multi Player yet but will give it a shot in near future. As a sidenote, I had run a Q2 thru the oculus app and the 4080, stable but this openXR w the G2 is much better, probably can say significantly so. I was never able to get close to controls with the Q2 in the F18 to really see, the G2 is technically similar but actually much better for anyone reading. I'm somewhat new, but is there any discussion by ED to implement this by default? Having DCS VR on OpenXR can't be that difficult I wouldn't think but again.. I have no idea. Again, thank you!
