  1. Very interesting. Thanks for your work!
  2. There was a request by real life pilots to check the flight model as the autorotation seemed too easy for them. IIRC AlphaOneSix found that the rotor seemed to be too effective and guess the code was tweaked to be more realistic. People have reported that she's more affected by wind and the feel is a bit different now. I haven't had time to fly the new Shark yet but really eager to test out all these sweet new features and tweaks! :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1267135&postcount=6 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1275805&postcount=31
  3. I don't see why would we need to choose between the two. It has been done and that way some sims work these days too. The main world evolves and at the same time you can buy DLC modules for the sim. I know nothing compares to DCS in complexity and it's not as easy but I also don't see why this couldn't work if it was done from the beginning. To me it even seems as less work would be required because this kind of huge compatibility patches wouldn't be needed. They will evolve the world anyway so I don't get why would it be more work to introduce new modules to an existing world? I wouldn't have minded if the plan from the beginning would have been separate stand alone modules but if it goes there it will be dissappointing as the main idea behind DCS was to have a realistic and a diverse battlefield IIRC.
  4. Oh hey, was anything done to the flight model? There was lots of discussion about it before release.
  5. Exactly Insanatrix. I'm not complaining here about anything, just stating the fact that the current way has no future for more than a couple of modules. On the contrary I thank you ED and testers for the quality work they have done so far and I can't wait to give the beast a spin once again! Quality takes time and I'm happy to pay for it. :)
  6. Personally I don't mind the current schedule but what Kuky is right about is the fact that this kind of system just doesn't work. They must have a unified base package on which to build upon. This will very quickly become impossible for ED. They must be completely aware of it and that's what worries me here. They cannot but dump the compatibility idea between each module with current way of doing this... Each time a new module is released it will take more and more time to do the compatibility patch for previous ones and it's already been a long time since the Warthog has been released. :(
  7. Wow I can't wait to fly this new beauty! So many new exciting features that I'm definately ready to pay for it! +1 I've had doubts for long that this current module system won't last. It will become extremely complex to make compatibility patches for every single module. It's going to be a DCS: Nightmare for ED in the future. I'm really afraid that this system will become too heavy and they will stop making previous modules compatible and thus break the DCS world where all the DCS standard aircraft can fly in the same environment and create a complex and realistic battlefield simulation. It has to be something like the other simulation series to be actually modular. Right now the game is built around a single aircraft when all the aircraft should be built around a single simulation platform (hope that made sense).
  8. Wow! One of the coolest helicopter videos! Totally new respect to the CH-53. Thanks!
  9. Set the resolution of cockpit displays in the options to 512. ABRIS picture quality won't really suffer.
  10. "The compressor blades were being damaged, and it was impacting the engine performance. At the time we were experimenting with filters - including panty hose." LOL
  11. Check screenshots thread mate. You'll be dazzled!

  13. Heh these guys are sweet ;)
  14. Amalahama, you should also post those in the Outstanding major bugs thread to keep the bug list concentrated and help Nate by keeping it as clean to him as possible. :)
  15. Some sweet, mixed HD Super Hornet cockpit footage: What the hell is this guy doing?!?! Must be taking bush flying too seriously... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP3AnFiHRsQ
  16. vanveken: those are pure gold! Thank you! I would even pay for higher resolution images.
  17. It uses the doppler navigation system. The two round things under the tail section are the antennas.
  18. Stay out of manpad range. Use the reach of you Vikhrs. Fire them from maximum range whenever possible. I assume you mean the "Patrol" single mission? There's plenty of mountains from where to ambush and escape. It's also easy to keep out of enemy gun range when the missile threat is eliminated. Your cannon's effective range is 3 km and from a stable hover you can nail targets from almost 4 km. No need to get shot at in the first place.
  19. Apologies if showing another example is unnecessary but here's a video demonstrating it pretty well:
  20. Thanks guys! Very interesting. Finnish helicopters have their dispensers blanked too. I already forgot. Would be awesome to find out what modern Russian heliopters are actually capable of. Ka-52 keeps me fascinated with it's mysterious equipment. :)
  21. I recently found this old little sticker collection that we bought from Russia when I was a kid. Well, it's cool and all but unless I've missed something in aviation slang, there's something bloody strange. :D
  22. No idea. Seems like there's no two alike.
  23. According to this picture the Ka-52 certainly does have 3 pylons on each wing:
