  1. Damn you guys have been rocking lately! Appreciate your work!
  2. Aren't those more of limitation charts for example Max Cruise and not minimum fuel consumption cruise etc? EDIT: I'd like to see how a cruise performance chart looks like for P-51 and generally get the information that a flight instructor would give you for a type rating.
  3. Shouldn't these charts be in the manual? Real flight manuals have detailed charts which show which settings to use for example for the most economic flight at a certain altitude and speed. For me it still creates problems in understanding how to manage the engine to get best out of it in different situations even though I've flown prop sims for years but the lack of manuals leaves a big gap in flying them right.
  4. ^ I just can't make myself watch videos with such irritatingly arrogant and self praising commentary. That's why I hate Russian "documentaries", because they make even 20 year old craps look like the most advanced weapons that are "ahead of their time" (see Ka-50 doc). Even my mom gets terribly irritated when she watches Russian TV and I have hard time keeping myself from correcting my dad when we have man talk about tech and stuff. :D But thanks to that I found a more down to earth and interesting clip about the engine tech of PAK FA! EDIT: Ok this one had a bit of bullshit too. :P http://www.airliners.net/photo/North-American-B-25J/2100817/L/
  5. This is awesome! DCS is really coming along! From a mess of modules into an integrated solution with high quality 3rd party aircraft. Maybe not exactly a dream for those who are waiting for the official DCS: Fighter but much to have fun for not so picky ones for the time being. :) I wasn't too fond of the Mustang but with the hype and awesome screenshots I might actually fall for it. :P One thing I demand though is to iron out bugs in the modules before making new ones!
  6. Let's try some obvious things. In case you just bought them, check whether they are in direct or mapped mode in CM Control Center. If you are not using a CMCC profile, then set it to direct mode. If the CH Control Manager has problems finding it for calibration, press the rescan button so it won't read "Control Manager Device" but find it as CH Pedals.
  7. Now they can tell their critics that they "drifted" to Syria by accident.
  8. ATR-72 Crew To Last Moment Tried To Avert Crash "...ground icing of the aircraft's wing and stabiliser as the main cause of the accident." "De-icing from now on will be mandatory for all aircraft of the UTair airline." http://www.aviationpros.com/news/10690701/atr-72-crew-to-last-moment-tried-to-avert-crash
  9. Who needs de-icing? Russians prove it's unnecessary...
  10. The most expensive private jet ever created—an A380 double-decker from Airbus, is on track to be delivered this year. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-worlds-most-expensive-private-jet-2012-4 "The original plans included "a garage for two Rolls-Royces, a stable for horses and camels, a pen for hawks and a prayer room that rotates so it always points toward Mecca," Dealbook writes of the plane, which was ordered in 2007."
  11. Great news all of them! Goodies come slowly but all of that seems exactly what we need. It's nice to hear that new products are coming along but the best part is to create the base (core) for them and make the current modules work as they should. Way to go ED!

  13. The safety culture doesn't look too great in that company...
  14. I have never sat in running attack helicopter but even in military transport helicopters I could not imagine not using ear protection. They also fly often with doors open so it gets loud. Changing a headset inside a running helicopter doesn't hurt but is very unpleasant at least. You can actually hear what he says there. I had to scream right into someones ear if I wanted to say something without intercom.

  16. That's the most important philosophy that people need to learn. Can be a bit of challenge but you just need to fly it into your muscles. Here's the cockpit video:
  17. LOL at the ETOPS definition :D

  19. First of all you have a great flight manual. Read everything about the trim and also check here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33527 Most of your answers are there. Trim is there to help you and knowing how it works is the key to successful piloting. For mods there is an app called Modman 7.3. Search it here or on google and also find the BS2 update.
  20. Yes the trimming system works as before. Since 1.0.2 patch there has been an alternative way of using the trimmer and you can set it in the options. You could try it if you are having major problems with recentering the stick in time but I still prefer the original.
  21. Alot of interesting speculation going on a Finnish forum. Here's an interesting one:
  22. It depends on the military contracts they will receive that allow them to create an entertainment version. Another company already made a Ka-52 simulator for Russia so I find it highly unlikely that ED will get anything from that direction. I would kill for DCS Ka-52 though. :P
  23. My problem was looking at the details instead of the big picture I guess. Planks use thrust to create lift but choppers use lift to create thrust. Simple :) Thanks for bending it for my brains guys!
