[Resolved] Jester does not perform LANTIRN commands
rwbishUP replied to Tomcatter87's topic in Bugs and Problems
BUMP can't get him to acknowledge anything except that the tgt pod is ready -
I know it's not a vital feature. But, just something as little as having an active patrol adds some nice immersion. Especially when you're on an attack mission, looking at the tgt pod feed and see an enemy patrol unit driving or infantry patrolling the area. It kind of brings the scene to life.

Yeah, the "go to wp" command is handy. But, that should be an extension of a simple command to "patrol assigned route or waypoints". It seems like it would be a very obviously needed function. I mean, if you want to have a patrol running around your FOB, FARP or airfields perimeter, it should be pretty intuitive inside the ME. For instance, place an armed humvee, assign it's route along the perimeter on & off road, shouldn't matter. Create advanced wp action either at wp 0 or final wp, choose command or task, "Patrol Route" or "Patrol Asgnd WPs". Without having to go to your scripting tool and write a script for every perimeter patrol in your .miz. And the speeds would be whatever you set in standard, already existing fields in ME, stops can already be done in ME also and that's great. But, just a basic command to repeat the waypoints that are assigned to the units. If we want a more advanced patrol, then we can use the more advanced commands and triggers that are already inside ME or then rely on external scripting.

Wish I could help. I've tried to figure out how to create a "patrol route" script using MIST for over a year, and can't get it to work, or anyone to help me.

For ground objects. The switch waypoint function commands the group or unit to go to the selected wp, but then they stop and hold there. So you have to individually set a command at each wp to tell them to go to the next wp. You have to tell the unit or group every single movement to make. When you set a cmd at the final waypoint to return to wp 0, sometimes the unit will follow the cmd and go to 0, just to hold there. But, a lot of the time the unit will go crazy and do some of the weirdest sh*t I've ever seen, i.e. run or drive in circles endlessly, travel in a completely different direction, drive into map objects and get stuck, etc. Therefore, you have to use external scripting to get a simple "patrol route" function.

I never think that a lot of ppl think little posts like this are jabs. They're not, it's just light, goofy fun.

Very true. I don't play transport roles much, but I just found out about the new supply and transport systems..........VERY SWEET

Thanks a ton, friends @crazyeddie @ggrewe. For checking it out and fixing the issue, and for the extra paint job! I'm gonna add a little more wear to a few places I messed up and I'll drop it in the ED user files, with y'all definitely credited for it!

So, I set my pagefile for my DCS drive to 20gb init & 40gb max. I don't really know if that is to much or to little. But, I loaded into a mp server that I kept crashing on before, it has a lot of assets in it. I was able to spawn, refuel/rearm and taxi to the strip without CTD like before when just loading the mission. It seems to have solved my problem, and even if I have more trouble with it after being in game for an amount of time. I will know what the issue is related too and where to start troubleshooting. Thanks for the quick help, @BIGNEWY, it's hard to tell how long it would have taken me to find out what the problem was stemming from. If you think I should set it different, I'll sure take the advice. And, THANK YOU AGAIN!

I'll give it a shot today, and post result. I did a little more testing last night after the post. It seemed the more assets in the mix, the higher the frequency of the ctd. It's weird it just started happening after I reinstalled Windows. Thanks for the help @BIGNEWY update: This is strange, @BIGNEWY I went to my virt mem settings and I haven't changed anything yet, still set to auto manage. And it's showing that my DCS dedicated drive, the M.4 drive, has no virtual mem allocated to it!, and only 8000 mb for my OS drive! Does that seem normal to you? Maybe I'm missing a driver after the reinstall that manages the virtual memory normally, and currently it's using a Windows fallback or something? But, anyway, what do you recommend as pagefile amount for, DCS when manually set?

When working in ME, after around 15 mins, get the DCS crash notification and am able to send crash report with dxdiag info most times. When try enter MP server, crashes pretty much instantly or while loading scenery, hard CTD. Included 2 back2back crash log archives. @Tiger Lead Same problem. Have a lot of airframes that are stuck on default livery, or just get hung between switching. In static AC, I can't view any warbird liveries, they all stay stuck on the default

I did a simple OD green skin and decal on the, Razbam excavator from the South Atlantic assets pack. I'm trying to add it into DCS as an option livery, but I can't get it to work. I created a description.lua and tried to set it up like my custom aircraft liveries, but can't get it to work in DCS. Unless I just directly replace the default texture file. I would like to have it as a selectable option in game, and share it. It looks a lot more authentic around FOBs, FARPS. I included the texture file in the directory sequence used in JSGME. Thanks for any help. GRN Excavator.zip

It would be incredible if ED could develop it just a little further, like data link and a few more features, even if it's a slow back burner project. Or even come up with something to allow some members of the community who create the great community mods, to tinker with it and maybe move it forward just a little more, if they wanted to, and comp them if possible. I don't know how it's set up of course, but even though I own it now. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO PAY FOR THE MOD AGAIN, if it were to be officially taken over or put back into active development!

Looking for someone to 3D print an adapter for me
rwbishUP replied to Hammer1-1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok, I can invert it no problem. I'm not concerned with the "getting a bit involved". If I can help someone out, it's not an issue at all. And I enjoy printing. -

Yeah, @BunyipBilly. Stainless would be great, but even to have a small piece like that fabricated. Would cost a small fortune nowadays. I'm going to make some mods to the file, thicken it just a bit, add some cross hatch and webbing then analyze again. If I could fit it in my resin machine, it would be great. I have a resin blend that you could make false teeth with, lol. Even if @Hammer1-1 finds a solution, I still want to make one that could be used in case someone else in the community gets in a bind and needs one. Looking for someone to 3D print an adapter for me
rwbishUP replied to Hammer1-1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@Hammer1-1, well I grabbed it and looked at it and I think your best bet would be to go with aluminum. I honestly don't think a 3d printed version could stand up to the repeated stress from the collective. Unless maybe, it were printed in carbon fiber, I don't have the equipment to do CF, and I'd say a custom printed CF parts is OUTRAGEOUS. But, judging by the shape and simple contours of the part. I think it would be fairly easy to get a square of thin aluminum and fabricate it with some basic metal working tools. -

I'd be willing to help ya out. Depending on the size of the part. My fdm printer has a pretty good printable volume, so I'd say it would print it. I'll dl the file when I get home and look at the dimensions. -

@Hammer1-1 did you get your part printed? -
That did the trick, @Rudel_chw. I did the cleanup, and when I came back and checked it, I didn't run the full repair so I could try your sugg first. After I ran the runtime files, it acted like it was going to hang, but it eventually loaded into the launcher, and from there on into the start screen. Thanks again for the help!

Ok, I'll give that a shot, I'm running a full cleanup & repair right now. Thanks a ton @Rudel_chw, I'll report back with results here directly. Thank you again for the recommends!
