  1. What about an Iranian language RIO? Would be cool to have a Farsi speaking Jester, even if us westerners couldn't understand a word of it :) (we have a good number of Iranian DCS pilots in our community, maybe they could help out)
  2. It seems the shadows revert back to flat shadows at a distance hence the sudden shift in shape as you get closer to them, it does look quite ugly.

  4. Yep I noticed the bugged shadows in the F-16 cockpit in Wags' videos over the past week or so, hoping they'll be fixed soon.

Solution, goto Bazar\World\Shapes in DCS directory and locate 'albatros.lods' and open with Notepad++ and change the contents to: model = { lods = { {"albatros.edm",100000.000000}; }; collision_shell = "albatros-collision.edm"; } as a sidenote the 'Rezky' model also shares a similar problem and can be fixed in the same way.

Yeah the Ultra setting is bad for DCS and causes very irregular FPS, a good explanation of this feature is written here https://www.anandtech.com/show/14765/nvidia-releases-geforce-436-02-driver-integer-scaling-and-more "Ultra, meanwhile, is more -or-less new, and goes one step further by reducing the queue size to 0, meaning frames are submitted to the GPU on a just-in-time basis and no pre-rendered frames are held in reserve."
  9. Sparse Grid AA still works really well with DCS, I use 4xMSAA set in game and 4x SGSSAA with NV Inspector.

  11. Happy the forest shadows are fixed, now I hope the cockpit shadows could be repaired next.

  14. Has anyone else noticed black sparkly/shimmering textures on objects recently? I've been trying to pin down what might be causing this, I managed to snag a videoclip of it happening on the F-18 along the dorsal of the aircraft, it seems to vary depending on time of day/sun angle. EDIT: uploaded a 2nd video with the F-14B demonstrating the problem with the effect being even more pronounced. nZontY_p9pM eXopMAqCwns

Just tried them out on my GTX 1080, all fine so far - adds new option 'low latency' mode in the NV control panel (basically max prerendered frames) P.S: heads up : this driver installs Geforce Experience even if you uncheck it, you can remove the software after it's installed however through add/remove programs in Windows.

  23. Not fixed in todays OB 2.5.5.34644, see how large areas of the Hornets headrest are missing in the shadow, also there is still no pilot shadow in the cockpit as there was 3 versions ago.
  24. Also try maxfps = 0 as this completely disables the FPS cap completely.
