  2. Is the issue, that the powerlines are not longer visible due to specific settings on the server or is it due to the latest DCS update? For me they are not longer visible - but still kill you. Anybody here, who can see the powerlines still?

  6. Awesome! Did quite a lot of formation flying (F/A-18E in FS9 and DCS:K50) - but THIS with 9 elements is simply amazing! And the music fits perfectly!

  10. Congrats and a very big THANK YOU! The STP-server still is my favourite when joining a free server... That didn't change the whole year long! Keep up your great work! If workload allows I will join you in the evening - for sure later this night. See you in the air!
  11. filtonflyer, do you get the menu at all? The menu where you can choose F10 for ground crew? If not: Check your keyboard-assignments in the options. -> open single player -> options -> key assignments/bindings -> radio comm -> edit key assignment -> press the desired radio comm menu key -> save options -> start mission -> let the helicopter cold & dark (engines and APU OFF) with door open (RCTRL+C is for close/open door) ---> explanation: with engines & apu off and door open you are able to communicate with the ground crew regardless if radio intercom-system is on/off/correctly set. It is the simulation of just talking to them out of your open door instead of any radio-system. -> press radio comm menu key as assigned in the steps above In case of success the radio comm menu should appear where "F10" is ground crew. I have the problem that certain keys from my keyboard DCS recognizes as some others. That's why I have to assign some keys in the options manually. One of the keys is the radio menu, an other is the key for chat. There some more. You have to try and error to find out which keys are working by default and which are not.

  14. The lower sound of the switches is one of the things I like most! Because I think that you do not hear the switches as loud as they where before the patch when the engines are running. It gives me a much more realistic feeling to hear primarily the engines and much less in the background the switches. In my mind it is far more realistic now compared to before the patch.
  15. For what reason you do not want someone else hosting your missions? Why not taking it as a compliment! If your mission where bad, nobody would be interested in it ;) I think when you see your mission on a number of servers, you see that the work designing it was it worth. ;) The whole Multiplayer-Community is thankfully to the mission designers who spend their time and work in creating the missions and spending them to the community. They are not only thankfully; they depend on such guys!
  16. Not a question - just a comment regarding the new sounds: In my mind the new sounds "feel" much more realistic! They are really very cool! Well done!!! So keep up tweaking your already good work on the sounds DCS-team :) Regarding flares: I like it the most realistic way! If the most realistic is that you can't hear the flare dispence at all - I am fine with it how it is. If the most realistic is that the pilot does hear the dispence - I would appreciate a change to that sound. Nearly the same for Vikhrs. I have the impression that the launch-sound is more realistic now. I think that I recognized a small bug with the cannon-sound. When pulling the trigger first, I had small like stutters in the cannon sound. After this first stutters the sound was further on normal.
  17. ...can't wait to fly this kind of missions! Hopefully in Multiplayer Coop with Helicopter and Jets. Same as you guys who posted the above statements I also prefer the ultra-realistic-kind of missions! Any recommendation - especially for Multiplayer Missions and Servers - are more than welcome!

  19. Tried on the STP-server yesterday, together with some well experienced pilots. plus: - Very nice location! Everybody liked the landscape where the mission is located! Thank you for that :) minus: - Very hard in my mind! As briefed you have to stay low. But when staying low it is nearly impossible to do a proper recon from a safe distance because of the (nice) terrain. The result is that you get shoot down earlier or later without warning. I also felt that the enemy units are nearly everywhere when you are at the lake. Nobody of us survived a significant amount of time. Maybe all is about a better explained briefing as mentioned in one of the previous posts.
  20. Da ist natьrlich viel dran: Das Flaren muss natьrlich gegen die damit verbundene Gefahr, selber schneller entdeckt zu werden, abgewogen werden. Deswegen stand das Flaren bei mir auch als letzter Punkt in der Liste. Es gibt aber einfach auch Gebiete, die man nur sehr schwer im Vorfeld und aus sicherer Distanz aufklдren kann.

  22. ...ein Soldat, der bei der Luftabwehr beschдftigt ist, hat mir mal erzдhlt, wie die Luftabwehr ein Objekt schьtzt. Als einer der Verteidigungsringe werden aus genau den weiter oben genannten Grьnden (schwer zu orten, effektive Bewaffnung) Stinger-Manpads nцrdlich, sьdlich, цstlich und westlich des Objekts verteilt. Es kann sogar sein, dass es der дuЯerste Verteidigungsring war. Angreifer mьssen also erstmal an den Stinger-Manpads vorbei, bevor die grцЯeren Luftabwehrsysteme ьberhaupt zum Einsatz kommen. Daher: ist schon sehr realitдtsnah, wenn die Stinger-Manpads dem K-50 Kopfzerbrechen machen ;) In vielen Videos von Angriffsflьgen auf feindliche Stellungen kann man ьbrigends sehen, dass da die ganze Zeit in Zielnдhe geflared wird. Eben auch aus den genannten Grьnden: es kann jederzeit aus irgendeinem Loch ein einzelner Soldat mit einer Stinger auftauchen, den man vorher nicht aufgeklдrt hat. Strategie muss demnach wohl lauten: - Aufklдren! - Aufklдren! - Aufklдren! - Aus sicherer Distanz mit Vikhr bekдmpfen und nicht an der falschen Stelle sparen. - innerhalb der Gefahrenzone FLAREN, FLAREN, FLAREN! Generell wird von den Piloten nach meiner Beobachtung im Vergleich zu Videos von realen Einsдtzen auf den MP-Servern zu wenig aufgeklдrt und zu wenig geflared. Eine (selbst-)vernichtende Kombination ;)
  23. Bei Airbus und Boeing ist das nicht anders. Auch deren Triebwerke werden mit Hilfe der APU gestartet. Bei den meisten Typen ist diese so dimensioniert, dass nur jeweils ein Triebwerk gestartet werden kann. Es gibt - wenn ich mich recht erinnere - aber auch einzelne Typen, bei denen die APU kraftvoll genug ist, nicht nur ein Triebwerk anzulassen. Das ist aber nicht die Regel. Insofern also kein Unterschied zu den Militдrjets. Im Gegenteil: bei den meisten zivilen Typen dauert der ganze Vorgang lдnger.
