I did a trap today on the Forrestal Instant Action (would be nice if we were about 5-10 more miles out as I have to rush so close) and testing out DLSS (didn't see a wake when I was trapping for some reason but did it see it from F2 view after I landed) and didn't get the damage notification when landing or in the debrief like it did the last time I used Forrestal (been awhile). Meatball light was still way too bright, though.

Laser cutter is next on my list. Loving your work on the wing sweep. Very nice. Could just get the acrylic from Amazon or wherever and then cut it to your measurements with an acrylic blade (10-12 bucks) and then use a heat gun to bend it. I'd be reticent to give up my Virpil throttle but more thinking to design something that sits around it with a large cavity for the Warthog sized base (with proper flap handle on the left) and emergency wing sweep on the right.

The raw speed is one thing but there should be more variation between individual members instead of perfect synchronization.

I printed both v1 and v2 parts and while the one peg hole for the mouser rotary holds it in place, when on its side, the washer comes loose without the nut and would no longer be limited. Base probably needs to be redesigned to have the nut as part of it? Or maybe my layer height is off.... Also have to sand and bore out the Selector Washer to for the PBS-110 Mini Push Button to fit bit then the big button ("Jett button") was sticking out too high so need to cut about a third off. Is the big Jett Button supposed to rotate or float stationary?

I have most of the Display bound to my VKB MCG Pro along with the nav steer commands. I have the autopilot bound on my Virpil throttle. The rest are my fuel probe, nose strut, and spoiler and brake. AIR Source you only need two for refueling, but cycle through everything but RAM Air on an Cold Start. This is mostly for immersion/ realism and only need Both/off for in game effect. I did build a button box for all air source as well as lighting. The next most important are the vertical panels for landing gear and tail hook. For myself, I most desire emergency wing sweep.

Having a human RIO is heaven but most of the time it's Jester.

Making want to 3d print at least a few CB and place them ala DACA book. From hearing some of the pilots like Slammer, etc would be more a matter of warning lights.

"VF-14 Tophatters AJ200 (1999) 80th Aniversary" skin - Wrong Pilot Helmet
Uxi replied to =Skywarp='s topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Cool info tidbit. Could the hypothetical new to have random sister squadron RIO helmet probability? Know that's baked in right now. Would be a cool option to mix up in certain liveries did certain missions by mission creators so maybe need a special name otherwise. -
Performance/FM Development Status DCS 2.8.3.37556 Open Beta FEEDBACK

I noticed the wing rock first time since MT patch in the IA Marianas dogfight with the JF I like to run as a warm up followed by a plug and then trap to stay in practice when I don't have long to sit at the computer. I was used to the shuddering but not that one. I'll get used to it! -
Clicking on it to remove it (like the HUD camera) would rock. But that should only be for the tape more than the wire maybe... probably too complicated....

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat - Update 10th March 2023

Loaded an old mission and had no FORGE elements. Would be nice if now and then, at least, there weren't any on the ACM panel. Also curious how that was. -
Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat - Update 10th March 2023
Uxi replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm enjoying FORGE. I'll keep it random if/when. -
I've been working towards that myself in how I'd envision the F-14E. Basically 3 DDI across the front and an AMPCD where the HSD is. Left vertical panel would have the Hornet E-Brake and Select jettison and Landing Gear handles in their Tomcat equivalent positions while still having the Tomcat nose strut, fuel, spoiler switches, etc (probably reusing these Hornet flaps, etc). Rather than the ACM panel bind the top center DDI top row for most of the ACM buttons and above that a miniaturized UFC (Similar to the F-15EX) with the ACM and master arm levers on the ends (they'd be flipped in real life like the F-14D and F-14B Upgrade with Sparrowhawk but for sim purposes be where they are in the F-14A and B.

Clearly I read that F-14D is confirmed with ST-21 mod in the works wink wink.

Fear the Bones includes 201, 202, 203 in that 89 scheme (with some E awards, etc).

I tried the reduce engine rumble in the air option and couldn't feel hardly anything anymore even when turning up values. I expected it for engine, but couldn't feel flares release, either.
-
When I do night refueling with my squadron, we generally turn the gamma up to compensate for the current state of lighting.

Does the DCS 2023 & Beyond trailer hint at a F-14D?
Uxi replied to JupiterJoe's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I did get a bit excited when I saw that GPS dome at 4:19... but then remembered it was always there. Then saw someone put VF-103 Jolly Rogers livery on an F-14A.
