  1. Wishing HB had done CVN-65 Enterprise instead of Forrestal. No variants to worry about (though would have enjoyed seeing hypothetical skins of America and JFK as Enterprise class).
  2. Hoping to be able to do an "F-4V" with three gunpods. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/remembering-vmfa-122-f-4v-the-usmc-phantom-ii-featuring-a-unique-three-gun-pod-configuration/amp/ Otherwise hoping for a later model F-4N or ever F-4S to better fit the rest of our planes.

    F4-B Naval

F-4B is awfully early. Are there any date comparable Redfor planes? I'm hoping for F-4N if not F-4S to better fit with everything else.
  4. Very cool. Would love to see the F-14D too
  5. Loved the comment on pilots racing RIO for targets. APG-71 and IRST sounds epic. Also that they didn't really use Pulse Search anymore.
  6. The Sparrowhawk was on the F-14B. Kaiser Aerospace AN/AVG-12 was on the F-14D. Iran reasoning is laughable. They're not getting any of that to work on a 50 year old block 95. Or a mod dev lol
  7. Really doubt DCS even models IR well enough for it to matter.
  8. Or caps for the currently sized one. Someone was working on it...
  9. IRST sounds like a really effective tool.
  10. I use mostly HOTAS. Sometimes mouse though have a button box I need to finish which should take of most of that. Keyboard only when necessary.
  11. Oh yeah there's lots of plans but not exactly expected in the short term. We don't have moving clouds yet much less moisture layers, thermal updrafts, etc. Rain, fog banks, etc should all be a factor and integrated in. The early version on the F-14A would interest me much more than an F-4 thigh F-14D would be the ultimate IRST before next gen on Super Hornet, Legion pod etc. For purposes on a hypothetical F-14D though getting way ahead of ourselves since the engine doesn't support that level of detail nor is likely to in the near or even intermediate future.
  12. Right now if I was you I'd get the G2. I'm still happy with Odyssey+ as I don't want to reduce FOV and the Pimax are too expensive for they are IMO. Hoping 2022 brings some better headsets. I like WMR overall. Works great with the Tomcat and VR is sooo immersive. Really get a sense of spatial awareness in BFM and formation flying. I always like to look at the backup compass just because which is something very easy in VR as well as looking behind, etc.
  13. No change here. Higher end settings. Trapped fine 5 or 6 times on Bankler's Case I trainer.
  14. I really doubt DCS models IR well enough for it to matter more than doing what the SU-27 does, more or less.
  15. It would be awesome! I'd be happy with the F-14B with Sparrowhawk and PTID. That would rock. F-14D is another animal.
  16. Isoko did the Christmas Bones VF-103 Jolly Rogers https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307339/
  17. Should include the Chinese carriers if they're going to do that.
  18. IRL they'd probably walk you through emergency procedures and the Air Boss is probably making that call since it's going to foul the landing area for awhile, right? Easier to fix in the game, of course and would be nice to tie it to the LSO station rather than letting an individual player FUBAR things in MP.
  19. Worked today. Maybe a one off
  20. After a couple weeks of working Jetseat power switch was acting up again. Was not wiring in DCS so maybe SSA but the Massage app worked. No errors or popups.
  21. Got a tiny bit of love with the last update with CRS. A few bindings each update would seem more manageable...
  22. There is at least one instant action that comes with it.
  23. Enterprise was much longer than the Kitty Hawks and even longer than Nimitz. 4 rudders, etc, The square island was pretty distinctive even after the SCANFAR array was removed. Yeah ship names and perhaps even pilot names would best be dynamic and set in the ME. Have few to none of the older escorts for historically accurate cruises.
  24. Shoes tells the best stories. Too bad most of them were variations on what we already had from the Mover interview. Would love to pick his brain on AIM-7 Sparrow employment and see how close DCS is. The lawsuit and airline comments were hilarious. Love his sense of humor. Old school man's man pilot. What are the yellow patches on his left shoulder of his jacket above the name badge?
  25. Enterprise hull is significantly different from the Nimitz. The lighting around the numbers means it's not a simple reskinning, unfortunately even without consideration of all the antenna and mast variations, etc.
