Not sure the hi-viz 70's jets really work with our block 135's anyway, but imaginations have no limit. Would love ED to do a block 70 or 75, but can definitely feel the feature creep coming in. Have the desert hot suit (and chocolate chip helmet cover) in one of Flying Isoko's VF-103 livery with very nice weathering and probably the best looking GE petals I've seen.

As you say almost certainly am issue of priorities. Accurate behavior around the boat higher for those most interested in naval ops, of course and those who have Supercarrier are right to be... displeased at the lack of priority.

Best thing ED could do spills be official Mod repository and integration into the game UI. Community would fill out escorts and assets from each era with much more volume and detail (see all the livery). They would just need to make sure all the weapons are modeled. I want to see the Long Beach and Virginia CGN and the nuclear Bainbridge etc

F1? I'm using Voice Attack

F14E Super Tomcat '21 Project proposal and discussion
Uxi replied to Tank50us's topic in DCS Modding
Yeah I'm thinking own both Tomcat and Hornet modules. Incorporating the Fowler flaps would be the hardest part unless it's just visual maybe... My thoughts are most of the work is already done on the election seat and MFD and essentially pulling in those assets into the Tomcat. -
Love that radio panel.

Wonder if Grumman employees would help. Just need Northrop-Grumman to sign off... -
Feedback Thread - F-14 Tomcat Patch, Sept. 1st 2022
Uxi replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I don't actually see that apear until I pull the handle to Oversweep. Until then I just see EMER. -
Nope, used some 3d printed lift detents for my Virpil throttle. Not Tomcat accurate but worked fine with a bit of a curve.

I'm only a slightly younger USMC M1A1 tanker who wielded the 120, especially the DU M829A2 and A3 "silver bullet" in Iraq. We definitely took advantage of the ability to reach out and touch someone at 3-4km. When we crossed LD, it was only tactical considerations on our load (normally 50/50 in the hydraulic armor protected ready ammunition storage but bad intel said an armor regiment was headed our way so the loaders mixed heavy sabot and then we had to switch everything back when that armor threat never materialized. Lots of use of MPAT and HEAT, though. AMRAAM was ready to go for the F-14D with the APG-71 including the first test firing but never got the funding for the software updates which was diverted to LANTIRN, instead.

Still needs to correct for Tomcat, as well.

at least one complete carrier wing with appropriate skins would be nice. Probably early-mid 2000s. Need an E-2C AI model though.
-
At the very least it would need to pulled and have an overhaul done. That wasn't happening on the last flight of a Tomcat at that stage in the game. Probably just the fuel cut for now, regardless.

That's why you need to preview and examine layer by layer. Better to not get the base of the text than put white filament somewhere else though.

Shoes mentioned manual slats before they picked up the new 95s for VF-84. Hard to imagine anything drastic enough to change center of gravity, though. Would love to see a list of changes by bloc.
-
You can paint it manually, or Cura has a festure to "stop at layer." You preview the file to print and set to the layer before the text appears. The printer pauses whenn it finishes that layer, you change to white filament and then resume.

I just did some testing. The ME did some interesting things.... the CAP has a mix of weapon loadouts usually A with Mk 60 and C Mk 47 but all the other profiles (Escort, Precision Attack, etc) look like they did C with Mk 60. Was that intentional or am oversight? C with Mk 60 would be more of an odd duck by my impressions. I was using an Iran F-4 as a drone substitute in NTTR, flying at 38k ft going Mach 1.2. I miss from 50-60 miles but hit reliably at 45. This was a shoulder station since the main training mission is delivery of a couple GBU-10. The Phoenix misses were all followed up with Sparrow hits, which was nice Ti see since my early experience with Sparrows was not good so nice to see them effective.

I didn't think I'd ever get it down but I did. Then I didn't think I'd get the A down... until I did. Now I do it at night, sometimes with a human RIO in the back and the rest of the squadron....

Good catch. Either he's remembering wrong... or... Globalsecurity lists a C+ variant. https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/aim-54-variants.htm AIM-54A First production model for F-14A. Analog electronics, klystron tube transmitter/receiver. Liquid-cooled hydraulic and thermal-conditioning systems. Design range of 60 nm (69 mi; 111 km) was easily surpassed in testing. AIM-54B Interim model. Simpler construction, non-liquid cooling. Not produced. AIM-54C Last production model. Analog electronics replaced by Reprogrammable Memory (RPM) digital processor, yielding faster target discrimination, longer range, increased altitude, improved beam attack capability, better ECM resistance, and greater reliability. Continuous-rod warhead replaced by controlled fragmentation warhead. AIM-54C+ High Power Phoenix Improved variant developed by Hughes for F-14D. Contains internal heaters, which eliminates need for temperature conditioning liquid, high-power Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) transmitter adapted from the AIM-120 AMRAAM, and low-sidelobe antenna. Latest version of RPM substitutes 6 ultra-high-speed computer chips for 45 of earlier, less-capable chips. Full-scale development began in August 1987. First test flight of fully upgraded missile on 14 August 1990 scored a direct hit on a QF-4 drone. Puck did seem to more time in the D and would have been in them by 97 anyway, probably and isn't talking about which version he was in at that point.

Any progress or files? We have all the bindings now... I don't own a Warthog but use a Virpil Mongoos T-50 CM (v3) same size as the TM, but am using my flap lever, etc so would want to add my own electronics. Am looking at motorized pot sliders which look like they should allow simulating the spider gear (with a separate raise/lower of the emergency lever). Only thing against them is most of them look pretty small in travel but might be able to spread it out creatively with some extensions...

Some people were using GIMP, which is free...

Also the Emer and Oversweep flags pop up even if you man mode (with throttle bind) the wings to 68 and DON'T pop up when you put the emergency lever back after any period of time to actually over sweep after trapping, for example. Both are more just visual than broken in functionality, though you see it entering every break and after every trap.
