Any plans to make RWR more realistic and less accurate?
falcon_120 replied to Snappy's topic in Wish List
@NineLine this has nothing to do with specific documentation, its rather a physic based approach as your team is doing on the tire strut suspension. We just want systems that converge with the laws of physics and mathematics (and EM fields). You cannot have perfect angular accuracy with a limited number of antennas at relative close distance from each other, your team knows that. But i guess this is something not planned at the moment. -
Well, that of course can be done. But now you're talking about a huge project. It took Razbam 5+years to develop the F15e to the current level, potentially ED could have that reduced a bit but still no less than 2/3 years i'd say (yeah i know they've said F15C and F35 starts this year and will be in 2026, and i dont think that will hold true specially for the F35). In any case, ED considering to make an F15e from scratch would follow the same process as any other module: 1-financial viability (how well it will sell), 2-documentation available and 3-technical capability. Now point 1 is a tricky one, because now ED knows exactly how well it will sell, since they are actually monitoring the sales of Razbam F15e, now a more relevant question would be, will it sell the same the second time? considering all the fans that got very upset for the ED/Razbam situation and more importantly, considering that many users; myself included, already have the F15e and are happy with it. I would not buy the module again except if: A-It comes already with what is missing in the current module (JHMCS,Link16,new weapons...) or B- if i perceive ED is in a bad spot and at the end of the day i want to support them as they are my biggest hobby and source of fun).

Fixes are always welcome. Not gonna lie, new features are thrilling but you can't have those all the time. Thanks!

Also it doesn't seem Razbam or its coders would be collaborative on that handover. Taking a project with thousand of lines of code and passing it to a different team and telling them "there you go, now you maintain and develop this code" its easier said than done and could be a nightmare. That considering ED pays enough for the IP and razbam accepts that offer... i dont see this happening to be honest, who knows Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

I'm raising an eyebrow with the Aerges and heatblur example as being the same... nothing against Aerges at all (bought both c101 and F1) but aerges F1 radar simulation is arcadish at best AtM. Heatblur f4 radar is a thing of beauty Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -

Im looking forward to the f35, in the same manner i would kill for a full fidelity su30 mki, mkk, j15, j10c, mig29k... whatever would add some options for team red. In the end im an aviation nerd that would love to see any modern and past fighter replicated to the best degree publicly available , even if that means leaving some room(only a bit) for guesstimation. I know im not the only one on that group and i guess that's what have driven ED decision to go ahead with the F35. What wouldn't like to fly this beauty? Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -
I'm so happy this plane is happening in FF. Thanks ED.

Seems to me like a very niche requests that requires so much dev time... This is not like requesting a livery Let's see, if they implement this they would need to: Make a second flight model to account to new drag profile and weight Make additional 3d work to make it realistic (missile hard points, possibility of adding bombs in the rack...) We had the same discussion in the F15e forum requesting to remove the CFT... you could just use already the F15e in air to air mode (aka no bombs). If it was really a thing operationally in some units i'm ok but only if its low in the priority list and after EA. In the end, not only DCS maps are not very big, but we also have already options now (F15e, refuelling, taking 2 drop tanks...)

The unofficial "2025 and Beyond" video hype / speculation & discussion thread

Bad reason, period. -If someone is going to mistake a DCS footage by real life footage, its going to mistake it whether that footage is done in [insert name of the hot zone] or in the current caucasus, future caucasus, Kola, South Atlantic... you name it. Any map will have some forest or vegetation or geography that could potentially look like [insert hot zone here, eg. crimea/Ukraine map]. That would make my day. -

Yes of course, yet dont fully understand it. What harm does it make a couple thousands of chair pilot fighting a virtual war on their houses, cheering if they get shot down and hitting fly again. Wouldn't that be actually so much better the the real human catrastrophy we have now in Ukraine, with so many lives being lost in each side? Also, on a more practical way, why would ED need to provide any explanation on making a map in any part of the world? even on an hot conflict part of the world? I understand why weapon systems are classified and sensitive so can be monitored even in videogames, but maps? Who is going to file a suit on that? EDIT: Not trying to talk politics, sorry if it came across like that. I'm just enquiring on whether ED can make any map freely, even when world politics put in on the spotlight, after all Crimea map was in Flanker 2.0 and 2.5 back in the day. -

I like Caucasus very much, not only for its geography and suitability for different type of combat but also because of its relevance in the international geopolitical sphere, specially nowadays, I just wish they would expand it to Crimea and maybe a bit more to the north . -
As far as we all know all official work on the F15e module was abruptly halted sometime back in end of Q1 2024 (came public in April 24 iirc) as soon as a legal dispute erupted between ED and RAZBAM. Multiple threads on that topic with walls of opinions and only some information in this same forum if you have the will ad time to read it. TLDR. No work on the F15e until legal dispute is resolved, potentially the DCS F15e will not come to be a fully finished module. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Very short answer, for any complex system or procedure you want to achieve, youll find a 60 seconds up to 5-45 min tutorial in youtube explaining it from the bare minimum to an in depth explanation, in your example how to use a 9 line in the viper. Why don't you try that? i leave you what you need below: -https://youtu.be/4hCkwdAL0sc?si=MJdhpfJsxFzg4yii Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Couldn't agree more with this. AI is gonna be a problem if not tackled appropriately, which ED is trying to, however IT FEELS to me not with enough priority. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Thanks, i was aware of that, as I took that statement like “this enhancement… *allows* …” which does not necessarily mean that is implemented already on introduction. I know i’m being pendantic here, but this could mean the new technology is considering this in the way it has been designed, but could come later [emoji28]. We’ve seen other cases of new technologies introduced by ED like the radar refactoring that announced everything it will eventually consider in the future, however when introduced it turned out phase 1 did not had all the features yet [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the new fog and dust coming on the next patch including logic to block LoS or reduce employment distance for weapons and AI? or is that coming later? Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

I was really thrilled by the DC, until i realized that a DC with current AI, and current comms would be a let down in many respects. In fact a realized that community provided DCC or retribution DC are already quite good already. Now I’m looking forward to any improvement on those areas (AI and comms)?with more interest than anything . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok so actually it was my fault not reading the roadmap. It clearly states the following: -AUTO LOFT mode and remaining JDAM and JSOW functions. I get from there we will probably get remaining functions like terminal parameters. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Thanks @BarTzi ! So this is not considered as a WIP or in the plans in any shape or form @BIGNEWY ? Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
