  1. Just what I was looking for. Thanks.
  2. I will chime in here as well and say the Mirage is one of my top 4 modules I fly in DCS. So much fun with the systems, good looking bird. Interesting systems and the fact one can do both A2G and A2A along with Air2Air refueling just makes it plain fun.
  3. Not a question but just a thank you to the people at Eagle Dynamics etc., for this wonderful tool and gift in the mission editor to be able to create "static templates" for mission creation. The ability for me to make an airport look like it is being used and then save that airport for use in other missions is phenomenally helpful. I've been working on templates for almost every airport, at least major ones I like to use and the fact that I don't have to redo this time and time again just makes me cry with joy. :smilewink: Mission making is so much faster and creative now only having to concentrate on actual AI stuff and not worry about whether an airport or target area looks real and immersive enough. Again, thank you to whomever at ED for creating this. Cheers.
  4. I've just gotten the Mig-29 module myself the last week and have been reading up, testing how the autopilot works, still confused a bit. Been reading through this thread and was wondering if anyone knows of a video or tutorial on how to use this aircraft feature?
  5. Nicely done. I myself have just finally acquired the Mig-29 module and I'm surprised and happy with all the nice changes they put in from the old module. Quite interesting stuff.
  6. Well I tried it and wow! It did work and solved all my issues I had with DCS. Who would have thought. Everything is now smooth as silk, lowest FPS I'm getting is 60 which includes flying down in the weeds in the big cities. I'm running everything on high, visibility on Ultra at resolution of 2560X1440. Thank you for this thread and this find. I can now enjoy DCS on this new rig.
  7. Interesting thread gents. I will have to give this a try and see if it works for me as well.
  8. In the mission editor, there is a trigger where you can make a city or village show damage etc. Same goes for static objects and such, you can set them as destroyed. You also can create fires and the smoke billowing up into the air from them.
  9. Go to the tab for setting up way-points. Make sure you are on the very first way-point, way-point zero (0) and then take a look and see if you have the "uncontrolled" checkbox. Also make sure that way-point is set for ramp start.
  10. I second your request for optimization of the Persian Gulf map. There is something going on in that map which causes some serious performance issues.
  11. Well you and Grimes keep beating those heads, both of you are most helpful. I know I've learned a thing or two from you both with respect to doing things in the missions I create. :)
  12. feefifofum, I'm going to start calling you the "Gandolf of DCS!" ;) You speak magic when it comes to the mission editor.
  13. FYI: It is my understanding all AI wingmen have issues with ground pounding at the moment so it is not just related to the F/A-18C module. I can't get my Su-33 comrades to hit targets on the ground. When I go into the mission editor to set up targets via waypoints, I noticed some "advanced waypoint actions" were missing so my guess is either a bug or ED may be working on new AI routines and it just hasn't hit beta or stable release yet.
  14. If you are flying the Harrier with AI wingman and you are doing a conventional take-off from a regular airport, the AI wingman will not take-off. They start a roll then stop because they are attempting to do a vertical take-off with too much weight in terms of fuel and weapon load-outs.
  15. Very, cool. I did not know this. Thanks.
  16. Another alternative I actually use is create a random flag which can have a value of 0-3 or 4 or 5, however many possibilities you want to have. You then create 5 different SAM Batteries in different places of the general area you want to place them. Create a rule where if Flag 1 is value 4, so and so battery spawns, if Flag 1 is value 2, another battery spawns in a different location. You can also have different types of SAM batteries with the Flag 1 value that shows up when the mission starts. It works quite well IMHO.
  17. Spot on. I'd purchase a full fidelity Mig-29 or Su-27, Su-33. The sim is becoming if not already "out of balance" in terms of multiplayer blue vs red. One of the strong reasons I was drawn to DCS and it's predecessor software was the fact you could fly both sides on basically equal technologies. Not the case anymore, unless you are flying on the Korean War Servers.
  18. Yes, thank you Cik. I did not know this as well. Learned something new today.
  19. Also, when creating missions in the editor and you have several flights which are not part of the player's flight but you want those AI Flights to Air-2-Air refuel under "Advanced Waypoint Options" you can command them (provided they have the equipment) to seek a tanker for refueling and once done they will return to their planned route.
  20. Interesting on the NWS Simple Behavior box in special settings for the F-86F. I was looking at that setting today and wondering what it meant. Now I know.
  21. Too bad. You are missing out. It adds great immersion to the battlefield.
  22. Yep, spot on. I actually got shot down a few times doing this until I finally learned my lesson.
  23. I did some testing last night. What I found, at least with the Su-27 is that "salvo mode" does not work, at least not with bombs. Haven't tried missiles. Could only drop in pairs when bombing.
