  1. When you place them in the mission editor and you place them in the positions you want them, make sure that the formation is set to "custom." I believe they will stay in place then.
  2. There is a work-around if you so decide to choose. When I'm making a mission and it includes wing-men or ENY AI aircraft, at the very first way-point I set the aircraft options in the advanced way-point editor to "afterburner off." That way the flight does not use afterburner flying around until I tell it they can. How do I do this? At another way-point, one closer to the AO, I set the advanced way-point options back to "afterburner on." That way they do not waste fuel in afterburner until needed in the combat area. You could also set this as a radio trigger for your own flight if desired or that of the ENY. The tool/option is there to help alleviate the problems with the AI managing its own fuel consumption. Hope this helps.
  3. This is incredible work. Thanks for sharing this with the community.
  4. Thank you sir for the clarification.
  5. You could always set the "restrict afterburner" option in the advanced way-point options menu and limit their use of afterburner until they get to the battle area. Then turn on use of afterburner and all should be well.
  6. Yes, that is indeed a very nice skin. Nice job chaser.
  7. I have a question I would like clarified if possible. When setting the Advanced Way Point options in the mission editor for a flight, does one have to do that with every way-point in order to keep the flight using that particular option? As an example; Let's say I want the flight to keep a certain formation during their patrol. I usually set that formation in the very first way-point. In order for them to use that formation during the whole patrol, do I need to set that option at each and every way-point?
  8. Yep. And it is going to get even more intricate with the addition of ground radar, FLIR pods etc. Good stuff is coming.
  9. Been using this superb addition to the Air-2-Air fun in DCS recently. Absolutely beautiful and seems to work like a charm. Thanks for working on this.
  10. That is beautiful work sir!
  11. Do you use "Static Weather?" This might be worth experimenting with. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/dcs-dynamic-weather-performance/7764
  12. How about some screenshots as well?
  13. LOL, it is always the small things isn't it? Happens to everyone at least once. ;)
  14. I don't have beta on my PC anymore. Only stable for me.
  15. And there you have it, straight from the man himself.
  16. Personally I think you are pretty close to the truth here. ED has to take into consideration hardware and what it can run reasonably for maps in use like what we do with a flight simulation. I would also add making maps with large bodies of "water" to be easier on hardware and performance as well. Look at the aircraft modelled in DCS. The star performers are naval in nature. ED has stated they will be redoing the whole carrier operations aspect of the game. There is a new third party developer (DEKA) who is making Chinese equipment, both naval assets and playable aircraft. What's next beside the new desert maps coming? South China Sea? I'd put money on that. :smilewink:
  17. Yep, noticed that myself the other day.
  18. Beautiful list of tactics. Well done sir! However you forgot one last tactic. Be sure the skies between you and your opponent are filled with comrades flying lesser quality aircraft so they can divert the ENY's attention and soak up his missiles while you sneak in for the kill. :smilewink:
  19. Most helpful Grimes. Thanks. Was wondering about this issue myself as I've started making missions and trying to create atmosphere on the carrier for the players.
  20. So I remapped those buttons discussed and with the knowledge from this thread I tried out the Mig-29 autopilot again and it worked beautifully. It is actually quite useful, helpful now that I know how it works and how to use it. Thanks again @Ironhand.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up.
  22. Thank you for the clarification.
  23. What does "Alarm State: Green do?
  24. Most helpful. Got one question though; in the key commands for autopilot, there is the "autopilot" A key or as you've mentioned the reset the "damper" mode command. The other one you mention here is the "autopilot reset" mode and I can't remember the key commands but one does see both in the autopilot section of the controls menu. I have both mapped to my HOTAS. I'm confused a bit as to when to use each one. If I I'm using the autopilot for level flight let's say and I want to cancel that, do I use the "autopilot reset" button or the "damper reset" button to give me back command of the airplane? Perhaps I need to re-watch the video but those two things have confused me as I've begun learning the system.
  25. It really is a fun bird. Enjoying it myself along with the higher fidelity stuff.
