  1. Interesting winz. When I migrated over to DCS World from the stand-alone products I noticed that the preload radius was a new feature in the option settings. Never had to set this option before so I just naturally set it to max. I will try this as well. Also, can anyone tell me (or us) here exactly what this setting does in the game? I mean what is the benefit to setting it to max as opposed to setting it to something smaller? In addition, in the stand alone products, as said we didn't have this option so what was it set to before in those stand alone products? In other words, what was the standard setting in DCS, set by the developers automatically?
  2. +1 It is depressing. I've been a customer of ED since 1995 and for the first time in my use of their (more times than not) superb products, I'm shelving them due to unplayability. And it is not like I have an old computer...brand new a year ago. I'm having withdrawls now...I miss my DCS. :smilewink:
  3. I definately have performance problems myself. A-10C and Black Shark 2 stand alone products ran flawlessly for me with plenty of bullets flying and smooth gameplay. Now with moving over to DCS World, my flying days with these sims are over until things can be fixed. Many stutters, frame rate drops etc. with just the smallest of action taking place. Heck, I get stutters and pauses just flying around with only my aircraft. ED is trying to merge everything under one roof. That is a big undertaking bound to have problems. I am sure they will fix it in time. How much time I don't know.
  4. For everyone one's reference in case it helps. Up until now I had been using missions that I created or someones else's which were created before DCS World. Now when I installed DCS World I went into the mission editor and resaved those missions so they were brought up to the current version standard...or so I would think. I know for a fact that on one mission I created myself, there were some sound files which were supposed to execute when a trigger took place. They have not while playing mission in DCS World. This is the mission I had been using to test my DCS World Black Shark and have gotten those said stutters and pauses. The same goes for some of the old missions that keep getting ported over from way back when with the various versions of BS, BS2 and now DCS World. Today, I went into the mission editor and created a simple mission at same airport and tested it. No stutters or pauses took place. The mission was smooth as silk and fun to fly. So I ask you guys having this problem as well: Are you using old missions or old missions ported over from earlier versions of BS? Even in multiplay? Go into the mission editor yourself, create a simple mission and try it out. Do you have any of the stutters and pauses then? Figured it was worth mentioning in case it may be relevant.
  5. For the record, I too am getting these intermittent stutters. Never had this problem with the two stand alones but once I switched over to DCS world they now show up.
  6. I saw that too. I believe it is indeed on the list already.
  7. Bump for reference.
  8. :pilotfly: bump for reference.
  9. I believe Combat Helo is no longer active. It is my understanding the developers ran out of money for development. That is what I remember at least in reading their forum posts over at SimHQ. I read that about 4-5 months ago. Perhaps things have changed.
  10. I take the lack of response as "no" then.
  11. After a long hiatis I've re-installed everything through DCS World. I've got the A-10C module and the Ka-50 module. When I was setting up my opions, I made sure tool tips were on. Some things I've notice. Tool tips work in A-10C, not in Ka-50. Noticed also I don't have any clicking sounds when pushing buttons in Ka-50. I do have them in A-10C. Has anyone esle experience this?
  12. I wonder if Ed Macy still flies the BS simulator, or even upgraded to BS2?
  13. Speed. For large files which would be difficult for your email client to send, use this website to deliver those files. There is a paid version and a free version. Use the free. Many of us who play the Combat Mission series use this site to exchange our PBEM files. I've had files as large as 35MB. http://www.sendthisfile.com/ Hope this helps.
  14. Absolutely superb stuff! Thank you.
  15. Thanks noc_orthodontist. I understood how to use and mark target points with the schval and PVI-800. I was a bit confused as to how you would use them for creating a mission in the mission editor. For static targets, buildings, bridges etc., makes sense like you said, for a battle area where enemy AFVs might be operating, makes sense to use them as a Battle Position (BP) point for the human player. I was curious as to how any real Kamov or helicopter pilots might use them if in fact they even do. Guess no real pilots experienced with the real Black Shark cared to answer.
  16. Yeah, that kind of confuses me as well. I never know if I should even conduct that test or not.
  17. Absolutely brilliant!
  18. I love you noc_orthodontist! Can you believe I had just arrived in this forum to post a question as to whether anyone had created such a thing? Absolutely superb! Thank you!
  19. Well said Starkey817. With the new mission editor features, one can really begin building missions which simulate real world situations. With that in mind, and with human wingmen, you can really simulate the combat situation and tactics of the real world...without the real fear, stress or death.:smilewink:
  20. What ever happened to Glowing Amram? You don't really see him around anymore.
  21. Welcome Manuel. I've been a customer of Eagle Dynamics since 1995 and today I still feel the same energetic excitement as you when I fire up their simulations. They have that sort of effect on their customers. :)
  22. I thought I would miss it at the beginning. I've found out I don't.
  23. Got a question for any who care to answer. When in the mission editor and you want to set up some target points; are targets points for player helicopters supposed to actually mark targets or are they supposed to mark good observation points from which to watch over a target area? In the real Ka-50, how do the pilots use target points on the PVI-800? Are they to mark observation points? That just seems reasonable unless your mission is to destroy a known bunker, building or bridge.
  24. Yep, he is very good. I subscribed to his page on youtube to make sure I don't miss anymore.
