  1. Clearly this must be a bug. :smilewink:
  2. I've really noticed the difference while testing my first mission in the editor. The AI is simply stunning! My hat is off to you Nate--IRL.:notworthy:
  3. Yep, makes sense and frankly I find it no big deal. And I used to fly with the pilot on all the time. With all the new stuff added with BS2...I don't even think about it anymore.
  4. I'm currently finishing up a mission. I had some screenshots from in-game that I uploaded and wanted to use in the briefing. They turned out all scrunched up and really horrible. I followed what was stated in the manual about pictures no bigger than 512x512 pixels. I look at the stock missions and the pictures in those briefing are perfect. What real size are you guys using?
  5. Now that we got beautiful additions to the map. Nice history and detail of units taking place in the North and South Ossetian Wars. http://www.allworldwars.com/Battle%20for%20the%20South%20Ossetia%20August%202008.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_South_Ossetia_war Very detailed stuff. Excellent pictures and maps as well.
  6. @Bad_Crc...it really is a kick-ass mission editor isn't it. I'm just floored by all the new and different things we can now do.
  7. Oh cool...I've not heard of this. I'll give it a try. Thanks.
  8. So far I'm extremely impressed with the wingman AI. He doesn't crowd you in various formations...unless you tell him to go "tight." He goes to Datapoint you send him to and hovers there until further orders, same with target points you assign him. In battle he does not get too close to enemy anymore but rather stays at optimal distance from target when attacking depending on weapons used. I've never seen him overfly target but rather break off attack and veer to one side or the other...quite impressive. Also, when he is attacked by AAA or Sams, he jinx's from side to side trying to avoid being killed...unless he is on his attack run...then he is concentrating on the target. Overall a huge difference in game. You actually get help from him now. The ground AI is most impressive too...but alas that is another thread.
  9. Ah...thank you. I can live without the shadows on the fuselage...I love the new in cockpit shadows. I just wanted to make sure because I do remember them from BS1. Thanks again.
  10. Is there anyone else who could just remember to check the next time they are in game and post results here it would be most appreciated.
  11. Yep, don't get me wrong...I love this upgrade but it is indeed time consuming to place ground units, then run program, get out of program, change placement...do all over again. Perhaps some day. I was actually thinking about this last night...being a helicopter simulation, you need to work on the ground units all the time. It matters where you place them within mission you are making. I think it will get easier once ED starts putting out air2air modules...easier to work with aircraft rather than ground units...if you get my meaning.
  12. I started making my first mission today with the new BS2. Been reading the GUI manual on the appropriate sections. All I got to say is Wow!!!:clap_2: It is simply stunning all the different things one can now do with this mission editor. The different triggers, AI waypoint scripts, I'm just floored.:surprise: Thank you so much ED. What a beautiful sim...you guys are the simulation gods...:worthy:
  13. Just so we are not misunderstanding each other...I'm talking about when you are sitting in the cockpit now...not on an outside view looking at the heli. You are sitting in the cockpit, move your head up in order to look at the nose...or look left or right at the wing pods...I don't see any rotor blade shadows anymore on those areas.
  14. May I ask what your shadow settings in the game are? I just want to check that I have the correct settings.
  15. I believe I may have found a small bug. Been admiring the in cockpit shadows, flying around in a mission. Was looking over at the nose and out on each wing...noticed that I don't see any rotar blade shadows anymore. Can anyone confirm this?
  16. Thank you Nate! I tried the files and they work like a charm. It is beautiful to here nagging Nadia again.
  17. Yep...I would agree to this as well. It just adds to the immersion.
  18. Explosions are better, look more real. The smoke plumes from buring vehicles is just awesome...when you look out your cockpit over the battlefield it looks like armagedon. Flight model has been tweaked, wind and such affect hovering...more realistic IMHO. Mission Generator is superb. You can generate random missions anywhere on the map. Mission editor itself and the new AI scripts you can write make for some very interesting more realistic missions by the community. It looks to be a very deep improvment for mission creation. The ground AI fight more realistically and are a much bigger threat to you and your flight. You need to take more realistic care and don't just go flying into hell...they will shoot you down. The map itself is so improved it seems to be almost new. There are actually more realistic contours to the ground, hills, slopes, small valleys, rivers have river banks...very good terrain for a helicopter to fly proper NOE.
  19. It is a superb improvement over BS1. I'd like to say thank you ED as well. Thank you ED!!
  20. I've been using it a bit lately. Very, very nice feature ED...thank you.
  21. Had some wonderful battles last night. Saved a track file of them. Went back in and wanted to use Fraps to capture some video in order to share with community. Trouble was when looking at the track file, some completely different things happened which did not during original mission. What must I do in order to make sure a track file plays back correctly? The only button I pushed was the one I had assigned to fraps. Problem was even when not touching anything the track played differenty. Any of you other guys who make vids have this problem? Or do you just record with fraps when playing the mission?
  22. Have you all noticed all the nice little things that come with the new and improved map terrain? I've noticed the more realistic contours to the terrain, many realistic little valleys, hills...plenty of places for a helicopter to fly NOE and be a challenge...not to mention good cover for attacking. Rivers actually have banks alongside them. Just beautiful!!
  23. It's not that bad Irregular...just pretend.:smilewink: Now I havn't checked it yet in the mission editor but I believe while perusing through the GUI manual that the communication suite is much more sophisticated in terms of who we can hear over the radios and who we can actually talk too. I believe I saw that we can use Forward Observers in sink with the BS. So much to explore. I hope I'm right.
  24. Those new smoke effects with burning vehicles are really quite good. Very cool to watch while flying around the battlefield. It looks quite literally like armagedon.
  25. I've noticed that ground units actually stop and assume a defensive position when they detect you. When they think it is clear, they move on. I even (I kid you not) had one anti-air vehicle stalk me in a small area. Very, very cool.
