  1. I'm running 2560x1440 now and when I zoom in exactly where the aircraft is I can see them at about 10 miles. Then if I zoom back in they disappear. This may have something to do with the display settings or the GPU settings but I have not been able to locate any solution. My only solution now is to run the game in 1280 which makes everything terrible to watch but the enemy aircrafts is somewhat more visible but far from reality. I would like ED to really get closer to reality on this for all resolutions.
  2. Completely possible if the CDU panels have keypress assignments. I would go for some of the CDU panels that is available in all simulation shops already.
  3. Bullshit, they would be sued anywhere.

    how to update

When ED first started this update process they have now I was also very confused but it does make perfect sense now. Prior to this line of beta testing we had all the bugs released on fridays just right before the weekend massive event ant it killed it kompletely many times. People were installing and uninstalling and getting all kinds of problems along the way. Now the new process for updates is really simple. ED will update the OpenBeta version when they have a internally tested update that seems to work. Then everyone that have installed the OpenBeta version can update their installation and most of the times it comes with a set of new bugs, almost always. These bugs on the OpenBeta can be game breaking so a lot of features stops working or they could be minor, it does not matter, it is a beta version so the bugs are completely fine but they needs to be found. Now everyone that is running the release version is not subjected to these bugs as they will normally be running the most bug free version that exists. When all/or most bugs are solved in the OpenBeta version then it will be published to the release version. Now that may have some new bugs right away as it most of the time is not the same build as the OpenBeta build, at least that is how it used to be. If the release happens to break some of your most dear unit you play you are perfectly fine to downgrade your installation of the release version back to the previous version and still be playing "offline" with that module. As ED now are finished with all the work on both 1.5, 2.2 and now only concentrate their work on 2.5 I suspect we will have more stable release versions coming down the pipe, and maybe more often have game breaking bugs in the OpenBeta version so ED can discover the bugs faster and get a bigger crowd to test the build. So if you don't like to test things you should always keep the 2.5 release version updated to the build you prefere. You can also have many installations of DCS on the same computer to make it easier to switch between for instance clean release version and modded release version. I have 5 installations of DCS now covering 1.5 and 2.5 versions for both clean versions and modded versions, it works perfectly.
  5. You have lot to learn obviously. You select next and previous airfields with the touch of a button. I can relocate to any map point and know that I'm there just by using the airports as navigation beacons and it will take seconds to calculate using the F10 MAP. I did it in FC 1.1.2B in complete darkness and I'm sure I can do it again.
  6. Thanks!
  7. All airports is nav possible, check the "Quick Airfield information" in my signature. In the F-15C you must use the heading and distance to decide which heading is which airport and then you can easily make out the airport list. In the Russian aircrafts the airport number is visible and should correspond to the ID in the table. It's very basic info and I would love for more navigational functions as well.
  8. I just did a test and I can barely spot two MiG-29S with smoky engines on 3 miles distance. I have to know where they are and then zoom in max to see them.
  9. OvGME pack is updated to Mustang tiles v1.02. Remember to disable the mod first, then copy over the new zip file, then enable the mod.
  10. Encouraging news in today's newsletter! Awesome lighting improvements!
  11. I have huge problems seeing anything after the 2.5.x rollout. Is ED working on Dynamic Scaling to increase Model Visibility or is this a lost case? Although the previous project for model enlargement was flawed I hope ED don't stop trying to provide something that works for all resolutions up to 4K.
  12. Ah, sorry. No to make it OvGME compatible you need to do a bit of work. But now I have done it for you. Here are the OvGME format of the mod. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nMubsZvpT6aMcYffga9Jvdj9NOKGTwPO Just add this file to the OvGME folder that mods DCS App folder and enable. :)
  13. We need more carrier based aircrafts. I wote for the MiG-29K.
  14. What ED could do is to make it possible to have a online repository for skins. When the user connects to the server and select the aircraft and skin the skin could be downloaded. With today's internet speed that would be acceptable for a lot of players. So the server have all the skins but they are stored online so users automatically download them, or as a selection/acknowledge for the download. At least the nose decals could be distributed that way I think, small files also.
  15. Yes it is not very advanced logbook. I have never understood why ED isn’t capturing all statistics up to a website. Much better logbook could have been made and could log both single and multiplayer. Could even be a payed service.
  16. Yes that is most lightly how it is going to be. :)
  17. Yes of course. I just tried to fire Pikes up a bit more :music_whistling:
  18. Thanks Mustang this is great! Works with OvGME
  19. I have played with the Saitek X52 PRO since 2005 and I have replaced it with the same stick a couple of times but I fly a lot! I have also tried the X52 simple version, don't get that one! The TM 1600M is a good alternative but more expensive I believe. It is all a matter of what you can afford.
  20. The PRO version is good. I guess you are talking about the simple first version.
  21. Since you don't fly any of them please stay out of the discussion/wish list.
  22. Investigated this a bit more and the problem is when you need to restart the server and then select a mission down in the middle of the list you have made and start the server. When doing this the mission you selected will become the first mission in the list. This may have been like this for a long time but this must be wrong coding. If you have a list of missions where you have moved and placed the missions in a particular order and want the server to rotate this list then the server should not change that list. Must be fixed!
  23. I would like more of the systems fully simulated, like the Radio's, ILS, TACAN and Landing gear lever. What can be secret on those systems that need license?
  24. I'm sad to hear that. The priority list should be, Core game breaking bugs first and then Multiplayer breaking bugs, then Single player/module bugs and any map bugs, but I understand that ED's priority list is completely different. The list is of course longer as well ;)
  25. Why can't you? It's just as simple as adding missions from Caucasus and Nevada in the server list and rotate them. You need the Nevada license of course but it is not impossible.
