Depending on the exact problem, searching youtube can be very useful as well. And welcome to the forums ofcourse, there's lots and lots of information to be found here.

How else would he check if you already own BS1 ? If a DEV wouldn't do that everyone would just buy the upgrade version, even though they don't own the software there upgrading. Microsoft for example does the same whit there products. In order to install an upgrade you need to have what your upgrading installed. (or in some cases, insert a disk into the disk drive or perform some other check)

Problem is, a lot of people here don't know that, and assume SU-25T when talking SU-25. hence i prefer using the A to make clear were talking about the SU-25 and not the T version. (is there a more correct designation for the SU-25 that we can use?)

Other way around, AtoA missile are a DCS World thing, not FC3. All airplanes capable of firing an R27ER, regardless being them an arcade or full on DCS module, would have to fire the same R27ER. To prevent the R27ER of the arcade plane actually being better then the one of the full DCS module.

Why? people that already bought BS1 can buy an upgrade at reduced cost. Since they already paid for a large part of the content in BS2. People that buy full version of BS2 pay full price, cause they didn't already pay for the full game. I don't get the money grabbing part, its a good, sensible and fair deal for all involved.

John Carmack joins Oculus VR!!!
159th_Falcon replied to VanjaB's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, would depend on its price for me, but i very much like the idea behind it. EDIT; They have a sense of humor at oculus to, from there "careers page" Principal Hardware Engineer, Badass Requirements: 10+ years of engineering experience architecting and delivering awesome hardware products. Experience with all phases of electronic product design, prototyping, and production. Strong background in FPGA and/or ASIC development. You’re the badass; you tell us. -
There's no cheats really. And we already have the integrity check. Maybe make it a bit more strict?

+1 (25A that is)

Did you turn on mirrors by accident? Key for it is M while ingame. For me its just fine, seems to run better then A10C and KA50, guess due to lack of MFD's

Civil aircraft around the world take part in various armed conflicts in one way or another. I don't see a problem here.

Some how Bill et John come to mind:punk: for those that don't know them, open the spoiler Cheers Gentleman:beer:

Su-25 VS T A has better maneuverability A has better speed and acceleration A is a hands on plane, no AP A is steam gauges only, no HUD A has same payload as T except ARMS, Vikhr and optical guided munitions So even though it can be a bit harder to use, its also more rewarding. Your also kind of forced to play co-operatively whit others in it because finding targets on your own is hard. So it promotes team play in a way. And lastly, its the most fearsome bomb/rocket truck you will see over the crimea for a while to come.:pirate:

No idea, hardly ever fly SP. Let alone campaigns. I'd say try it out and see what happens.

That, i guess.

Problem is that by default, the scroll wheel is said as an mouse scroll wheel. But the game does not see the X52(pro) as an mouse, and hence you can't map it. To solve; Install the latest SST driver software, and create a profile. Whit the profile window active, scroll the wheel, it should snap to the correct position in the list for the scroll wheel. Here you will see it functions as a mouse. Right click and select Unprogrammed or Button. This makes it an DirectX input, which the game DOES recognize. ~S~ (think "unprogrammed" is the one you need) IMPORTANT. Whenever you have made changes to a profile and saved it. right click the icon in the task tray and hit "clear profile". Then load the profile again as normal. If you don't do this the old profile whill still be loaded in the device memory, and cause it to look as if you changes are not working. Instead, there just not loaded into the device yet.

I need help combating enemy air defenses
159th_Falcon replied to Wags94's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
About altitude, keep in mind that you can and should change it as needed. But flying close to or even over areas known to harbor enemy ground equipment. Above 4000 meters is a good idea. Though, as Maturin said, fighters may prevent you from doing this. About vikhr's from high altitude, make sure you have the target lock in skhval at least 12 km out. Dive down and launch using launch override from 10 to 11 km out. After launching gently pull back on the stick to reduce the planes pitch angle to a positive 5 degrees which will greatly help in reducing your rate of decent. Flaps to the maneuver setting will help reduce it even more. And as said before, don't get greedy, 1 vikr per run in. Unless your absolutely certain that there is no anti air threats around, then you might wanna risk 2 launches. -
Holy Grail and Time Machine - No life beyond the Hog?

ED's very own DCS F-18 (C?) will most likely be on par avionics wise whit A-10C and the KA-50. At least, that's how they seem to advertise it. Then there are 3rd party projects for F-15E i believe it was, aiming to be on par whit the aforementioned as well. Only thing i am missing at this point is an modern(ish) Russian fighter. Which will no doubt come to us at some point. -
That's the way we try to organize things in the 159th. In our relatively new public missions you will also see that the plane slots are unbalanced. This is to make sure that the Redfor pilots will actually try to protect the ground pounders from the limited Blufor fighters. Doesn't mean it happens that way though.

Not sure if there is anything wrong whit cluster bombs as such. But they sure lack the power to take out heavy armor. Try racks whit 4 FAB 100's each, set release interval to kmgu/rbk. S-13 rocket pods can easily take out those tanks to, but require you to fly multiple passes. And not sure if you will have enough of them to take them all out. (could work though if you have an AI wingmen) Could also use the laser guided KH-25ML or S-25L, though there hard to use on moving targets when launched from the 25A.

150 ms is just fine, depending on distance between client and host. What was so suspicious about there behavior? And how would an track file possibly prove anything? All it contains are mission files and a means to replicate the flight. It does not contain any config files from the clients computer as far as i know. And as said, it would be impractical. Along whit the fact that especially MP tracks get corrupted quite easily.

I need help combating enemy air defenses
159th_Falcon replied to Wags94's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
PATIENCE Keep your distance while scanning whit the Skhval from 20 to 10 km away. Extend and repeat. don't be afraid to use autopilot while scanning (ideally you have a wing men to spot launches and/or an KA-50/A-10C acting as JTAC) Make sure to activate your rear hemisphere IR jammer. Believe its LShift E, green light should illuminate close to the gear lever. This should trow off most IR guided missiles within a cone of X degrees off your 6. Use Pre-emptive flares when running in on a target, use twice the amount when extending cause your hot exhaust is now pointed at the defenses. Whenever possible fly above 4000 meters AGL. This greatly reduces the manpads engagement zone. Could still get hit though if you fly straight over em. The 25T is an relatively heavy airframe that doesn't turn to great and loses speed quickly. As such make sure you end your attack runs whit 450 km/h of speed or more. Giving you some spare energy to use in defensive manouvres for when you manage to spot the launch. Extending the flaps "one notch" (meaning manouver position) can also help. Mind the extra drag though. This should get you started. And yes, targets are just really hard to spot whit the Skhval. It helps if there is a good briefing from which you can deduct on were to search for the targets. Keep in mind that the Skvhal is mainly a means of engagement. Not a means of searching for targets. (i think at least) -
Question is, how long will it take em to achieve this. Currently, DCS only uses 2 threads. (sound engine has its own) It has been like this for a while now, and i don't see it changing anytime soon. Also, ED have mentioned they would gradually add multiple threads, instead of one big switch. So by the time we have 4 seperate threads its most likely 2015, maybe even later. So i'd say a 4 core CPU is plenty for now and the coming 1.5 to 2 years for DCS. Probably even longer.
