  1. So... I gave up. Turned on my Second screen and was watching football... try DCS again on a whim... et voila, DCS loads. Makes no sense :) Nate
  2. Grrr, no joy with 2.5. So it is something else broken. Odd that it's only the one app having the issue. Any other suggestions gratefully accepted.... Nate
  3. No Joy with DDU cleaning out drivers from safe mode.... resuming the rollback to 2.5 to see if that has any effect. Many thanks for the suggestions BIGNEWY - much appreciated. Nate
  4. Getting a bit further now the AV is gone, DCS is recognising it is crashing and creating its own log package (see attached). Again something is pointing to DirextX Dlls as the faulting module. Will try going back to 2.5.0 to see if it still occurs...... Nate dcs.log-20180428-103058.zip
  5. Avira Free. Will uninstall as a test........ Nate
  6. No, no metashader popup (I've been reading through the forum also :) ) Log and dxdiiag. attached in the first post now. Even with a fresh DCS config, no metashaders the result is the same. I've also tried disabling DEP as test and the error changes to a dxd11.dll (or similar) but still crashes at the same point. Nate
  7. Since updating to 2.5.1 DCS will crash out just before getting to the Main menu. DCS.log stops at just before initialising DirectX (comparing against older logs I have), no crash dump is provided - the only information is the below. Problem Event Name: BEX64 Application Name: DCS.exe Application Version: 2.5.1.16543 Application Timestamp: 5adf71a0 Fault Module Name: StackHash_77b3 Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Any Ideas? EDIT:- I've tried completly resetting the DCS config, by renaming all DCS folders in my C:\user profile, same result. Nate dcs.zip DxDiag.txt
  8. I find it is usually when attempting to lock something it just goes nuts. It might also have something to do with a dip in Frame rates? It always seems to happen right in the thick of battle. Nate
  9. I always wondered about the Origins of the relationship between TFC and ED. How did it come about, and what exactly is the relationship? Nate
  10. If you can Capture it in a 30-60 second long track it will get looked at. The issue for me has always been that any track I have of it is hours long. I've never found a method for recreating it on demand. Nate
  11. That's been there since Black Shark 1 - tried in vain to get a track of it to submit for a Bug report. Nate
  12. Just tested it, ramming various airport support vehicles :) - the effect is less than I would expect, but it is present. Nate
  13. Are you sure, I'm nearly certain that, if a wing falls off for example, I have to trim massively in the opposite direction. Nate
  14. That's unintentionally hilarious :) Nate
  15. I was enjoying this with 1.5, does anybody know if it'd still work in 2.5? Nate
  16. I had my first serious session with CA in years today, and I agree it's so much better now. I think it is getting close to what it was envisaged to be from the outset. There are still bits that need a bit of polish in term of UI, but overall the new Terrain has given a subtlety to combat that was previously lacking. 10 out of 10 ED, well done. Nate
  17. There really needs to be a solution to this, however isn't it a limitation of how GPUs work? I can live without Deferred shading for now, AA is a must for me. Nate
  18. Same - I've disabled deferred shading now and back to MSAA, but the sim looks terrible. Nate
  19. ^^^ that s new to me - could I ask for link Mustang? Nate
  20. I would like an air quake map for multiplayer. 2 islands separated by a large ocean. First team to knock out the other wins. The Distance between the islands could be adjustable in the ME. Nate
  21. Just wondering, do those registry file paths get updated to the same folder as dcs_updater.exe is run from, upon execution? If not, is there a reason why not? I'm always shifting DCS around as space requirements dictate. Nate
  22. You can already do that, but you have to attain a certain speed that I can't recall exactly. You have to dive from high alt to reach enough speed, and you can go right through the terrain. Nate
  23. Jesus, nearly 8 eight years ago.... my god time flies. Nate
  24. This is not a Simulator....... L2CsO-Vu7oc Nate
  25. Heh. I remember making this very suggestion on the Flanker2 forums :) Anyway - track replay will need to be improved first I think. Nate
