  1. You should not deactivate any licenses when uninstalling/reinstalling.
  2. HiJack, according to the DXDiag report the swap file is now enabled. Saw a few interesting lines docfu, pre-1.2.0 DCS A10C was working on your system and something may have become broken in 1.2.0. However, I strongly recommend upgrading to 64-bit Windows 7 if this is possible for you, especially with a system that has 16GB of RAM, of which about 12.5 GB isn't being used.
  3. Any .crash files in C:\Users\your-user-name\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\ or crash details from Windows? Have you tried enabling the page file? A DXDiag report may help. OT: 16GB of RAM with 32-bit Windows XP? It can use no more than 4GB. Even with the /3GB switch the maximum amount a single 32-bit application can use is 3GB.
  4. Playing DCS:BS with English audio is like watching Das Boot or Der Untergang with the English dub ... Anyway, there's an option to select the cockpit language so there should be an option to select the audio language. To top it of, you'd have an option for label/text message language ... Problem solved.
  5. Also seen with the two static Ka-50's in the Death Valley single mission. Paint scheme is "Demo #024". PS: it's orange, not yellow :P
  6. The modified PRW-11.edm seems to do the trick.
  7. The polygon count of the modified .edm file looks good. One small detail, the modified model doesn't seem to have specular highlighting. Will give it a try later today.
  8. Did you watch the entire video?
  9. The issue with the PRW-11.edm model's embedded LOD's still stands in DCSW 1.2.0. Probably the most urgent LOD issue ;)
  10. Sure looks like it.
  11. Why not use ZIP files instead? ZIP files are natively supported since Windows XP, RAR files are not supported natively and require third party products ...
  12. Odd ... it was mentioned in the change log of the beta patch (which I couldn't play due to BS2 upgrade version ...) but not the non-beta release's change log ... Anyway, I like Yo-Yo's detailed explanation.
  13. Yes, after activating your BS2 upgrade key.
  14. DCSW will only accept the BS2 upgrade key. The basic procedure is: 1) Install BS1 (1.0, no patches) and activate using BS1 key 2) Install DCSW 1.2.0 --- steps above can be performed in any order --- 3) Install DCSW 1.2.0 BS2 upgrade module (KA-50_bsupd_1.2.0.63205.exe - there is another file for the BS2 full license) and activate using BS2 upgrade key Save your money for the next modules ;)
  15. If only this information had been included in the changelog ...
  16. Of course the upgrade license requires a BS1 license. The point is whether customers should go through a tedious process in order to use the upgrade license. Requiring BS1 to be installed (and activated) is due to functional reasons, in order to verify that you in fact have a valid license for BS1. In the scheme I mentioned before this would no longer be necessary since you'd have a BS2 full license (and relinquished your BS1 license, preventing it from being used again). As a customer, you would have the choice to convert to a full BS2 license (and relinquish your rights to use BS1), or to keep things as they are and retain your right to use both BS1 and BS2. The principle of replacing product license keys with keys of a newer software version, after purchasing an upgrade or as part of a subscription, is not uncommon in the software industry.
  17. Perhaps ED could allow you to merge a BS1 license with a BS2 upgrade license into a "BS2 full license". As a result, the BS1 key and BS2 upgrade key would become inactive (no longer possible to activate these keys) and you would be given a new BS2 "full" key. This would give you access to what you paid for, access to BS2, but without the hassle.
  18. I just checked DCS A10-C 1.1.1.1, it has the full animation, including the propel animation with the skeets. See attached screenshots.
  19. I hope so. Make it less precise, appear slower (it appears instantly right now) and add a reload delay. Are armored units supposed to be able to drive through (dense) forests in the first place? Regardless of this, forests (as well as other objects like buildings) should block the line of sight. Visibility could be determined using the object's existing collision box.
  20. I have the impression that it's related to the "disable aero interface" option as well. It's not happening consistently though.
  21. The new CBU-97/105 animations were introduced in DCS 1.1.1.0 which was released about 8 months ago :P
  22. The GUI is already capable of flowing content within a box. If the GUI dynamically adjusts the size of the box, more content (text) would be visible and there would be less (if any) scrolling.
  23. It would useful to have a list of the controllable units in the F10 view that you can filter by type (JTAC, artillery, armor ...). You'd select a type of unit from a dropdown list, then select a unit from the list which would select it on the map (and put it in the center of the view if it's outside the current F10 view) ...
