If you fail your campaign mission but do not wish result to be logged, while DCS ingame is still running - alt-tab, right click DCS icon on your taskbar and close application, this actually force-kills your sim. Now GUI will launch with message informing you of no records for logbook, campaign won't advance.

You were watching A-10C video and QFE was given out by ATC in inches of mercury (inHg) not in hectopascals.

Okay, cool, Roadrunner. Good there is some tool out there to schedule closed server missions, really appreciate it. I will try to schedule first four ship COOP flight starting January, leaving myself enough time to learn the tool and write setup/join tutorial for first-comers. Is there someone very proficient using radios/TARS who wishes to join on the first session? It will be better if there will be immediately two of us who have everything properly configured to efficiently troubleshoot two users who may be using TARS for first time after installation. quick notes for requirements for first session: Knowledge of the aircraft, operation in the cockpit (at least most used functions), safety discipline in flight - complete in-game tutorials and complete 5 missions in campaign following JTAC calls without dying. TARS will be applicable for the flight, but that is if 1.2.7 update does not break its functionality. TS3 of client version 3.0.12 or lower is required to run latest version of TARS plugin properly, but that is unless new version of TARS is released by January that supports new TS3 clients. Knowledge of all three A-10C radio panels and radio operation. Host only: Server exports must be allowed to allow TARS to function.

Since it is not used by in-game DCS A-10C and real one, if you have a free hat on your controller to dedicate it as mic switch PTT for different communication channels, I recommend doing so. Here I have some ideas for you, you may clone A-10C mic switch PTT functionality beside its in-game menus and make it corresponding to in-game menus in terms of voice actions you are taking. My example: I use Mic Switch UP held command as PTT in TeamSpeak3 to active channel. -- default communication way on active channels of TS3 throughout all servers FWD held acts as TS3 whisper to ATC/GCI channel on Teamspeak3 depend on server. Still ingame it brings up the VHF AM menu to use with AI Allied flights, ATC, Ground etc... Additionally FWD is tied to VHF AM radio plugin TARS (TS3) as PTT for TARS enabled flights. AFT held acts as TS3 whisper to GUARD/ALLIED(all flight & ground channels) on TeamSpeak3. Still brings up the VHF FM menu to use JTAC, ground... Additionally AFT is tied to VHF FM radio plugin TARS (TS3) as PTT for TARS enabled flights. DWN held acts as TS3 whisper to assigned flight channel (set before mission) and is tied to VHF UHF radio plugin TARS (TS3) as PTT for TARS enabled flights... Notice in almighty Thurstmaster Warthog throttle you can also PRESS the mic switch hat like a button and hold and this function I exploit too, it is bound via AutoHotKey script as PTT button simulated as F14 keyboard key which is captured by VAC profile to activate voice recognition as long mic switch hat is depressed, giving me absolute control over AI menus. Maybe that is not what you are looking for, but it surely helps if you wanna have ergonomic and immerse and real communication and full-time use of your mic switch hat :joystick:

2-4 pilots COOP sessions, hosted by one of participants. ATO tool not necessary, although it may help quite a bit with sign up process. I won't be the only one creating all events, just wish to bring up a bunch of people here and kick start small coop flying, briefed in one place. First session I suppose is good just to warm up with TARS - make sure all have their configurations set and understood - followed by flights in default A-10C coop missions that come with module install. Brevity not certainly required, just knowledge of the aircraft, rest we will built it up along the way. This is not intended to be understood as squad events or joint squad trainings.

I own both Steam modules installed in bed rooms PC and DCS modules from ED website installed in my sim pit. While both are compatible with same multiplayer server there is one observation I have made. Although running through Steam... no, there is no Steam overlay available. DCS on release Steam is for distribution only I believe and due to some community here asking for Steam sale, although it is not what believe as Steam-connected game with achievements and such. I guess even if you force Steam overlay functions you may lag DCS more or keybinds will conflict, but that requires you to find out, test it and post it here :)

This works great for me, since I am using three screens, two USB ones, for HELIOS and TS3. Windowed mode with res set to screen res of primary monitor is the only way to go and very stable on my system.

Hi, I am trying to revive community interest in COOP closed missions and trainings. I hope to organize few COOP missions on A-10C with TARS realistic radio operations communications. http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/ Something I have tried before but due to issues with DCS and RL time concerns took me away from the idea. There is this community tool with RSS channel for arranging such events but seems abandoned by both Falcon and DCS A-10C community. http://www.quasar-49th.de/briefing_tool/ I have done some forum searching, found no recent discussion of this ATO planning site. Any idea what happened with its authors? I hoped to use it to invite some serious fliers for revival of coop flights. Anyway, I am here, open to organize A-10C 2-4 coop flights, and I need some :helpsmilie: to spread the word.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Shaman replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Headspace, is it safe to update TS3 to 3.0.13.1? TARS community? Where are you flying? I am bored and need a TARS coop flight :) -
Skin request, AREA 51 MIG :) http://rt.com/usa/declassified-soviet-mig-area51-975/

I don't want any new content. I want avionics bugs fixed (most obvious, cuz I spend 99% time in pit) stability & performance in both SP campaigns and MP campaigns.

face it :) This thread goes nowhere, lets change it into REP SPREAD FESTIVAL :D

How do you manage your profiles for all the aircraft?
Shaman replied to johnv2pt0's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I do like this, CLEAR ALL assigments first (unblocks grayed fucntions) and redo everything from scratch for only planes I fly extensively. If I don't fly something often I do not fly it (do not configure it) at all. -
Can I connect f.e. DCSW:CA from Steam with DCSW:A-10C from ED-webstore over multiplayer? Or software from STEAM is not multiplayer compatible with software from ED STORE? Can I use same player account on Steam and on DCSW and log-in into MP lobby twice? This question connects with one above.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Shaman replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi, is TARS still supported with new versions or due to lack of time abandoned, maybe on-halt? -
ED, current multiplayer situation is unspeakable, simply feels ruined. There is no motivation to connect and train anymore, forget bigger events. I am bored, flying patterns and offline campaigns. :bored: Waiting for a year for mp to be playable again. -Hope dies last-

Sounds interesting. How to get devs hooked up on this?

I have joined <51>SERVER, loaded up in A-10C. After powering up APU, I have contacted ground brought up rearm menu, scrolled loadout profiles list down... and this happend, two crash dialog windows: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: dcs.exe Application Version: 1.2.6.17746 Application Timestamp: 5225b96f Fault Module Name: p51_protect.dll Fault Module Version: 5.70.46.4 Fault Module Timestamp: 5225b831 Exception Code: 40000015 Exception Offset: 000000000002e2ee OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: ee81 Additional Information 2: ee814ed8a4d959506daedf34cceae613 Additional Information 3: 8c25 Additional Information 4: 8c25825392e0fbcbeb24444b52332eb5 Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: dcs.exe Application Version: 1.2.6.17746 Application Timestamp: 5225b96f Fault Module Name: Cockpit_A10C.dll Fault Module Version: 1.2.6.17746 Fault Module Timestamp: 5225b3bf Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000000000003941c OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: d0e5 Additional Information 2: d0e5b6816b6d22dd3377738fd053c9b6 Additional Information 3: c625 Additional Information 4: c625a0f4b150c587c73d1f278766967a

Well, no one ever replied to you. This is normal for current version of DCS World (1.2.5). This is caused by technique chosen how cockpit shadows are mapped. Well on the other hand this is resource friendly way to render such live shadows.

c0ff, I currently own Lock On on a CD, and then from ED online store these: Lock On: Flaming Cliffs, Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2, DCS Black Shark, DCS Black Shark 2 Upgrade, DCS A-10C; DCS World owned modules: DCSW: Black Shark 2 upgrade, DCSW: A-10C, DCSW: Flaming Cliffs 3 with AFM planes (A-10A and Su-25A), DCSW: Combined Arms I really wish to migrate entirely to Steam, I do care spending a bit more via Steam if required due to licensing issues with UBI to support ED; please post an easy step-by-step procedure for people like me. Should I begin by uninstalling all DCS software from my PC first, cleaning up folders and then going to re-download everything with Steam? Awaiting some good step by step tutorial to migrate :) See you all on STEAM!

Dig out this old thread because noticed in DCS World problem occurs on all planes, all axis YAW, PITCH, ROLL are working at 150% of TrackIR axis by default which is not what TIR user expects. In-game Y saturation advisable @ 64 value out of 100 % to correct DCS behaviour with TrackIR drivers to 1:1 axis ratios.

Hello pilots! It has been thrilling event for all of us. Best thanks to all squadrons participating. I do hope to see SATAC 2014 being even more awesome. It has been great journey for 51st "Bisons" PVO since our inception back in Dec 2007. Winning SATAC 2013 is a milestone in years of our squad's effort to discover high potential in our trusty rusty simulated Flanker and working tactics. Cheers :pilotfly:

iControl DCS - Android - interest check
Shaman replied to boarder2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I own Nexus 7 tablet and will buy another two tablets as such if this app is pro for Android. -
Before I try it, question: does it simulate radio signal quality and distortions as in FM or AM signals, radio horizon based on altitude, terrain (visibility of antennas), and other radio wave effects?
