Well, no one ever replied to you. This is normal for current version of DCS World (1.2.5). This is caused by technique chosen how cockpit shadows are mapped. Well on the other hand this is resource friendly way to render such live shadows.

Should I begin by uninstalling all DCS software from my PC first, cleaning up folders and then going to re-download everything with Steam? Awaiting some good step by step tutorial to migrate :) See you all on STEAM!

Dig out this old thread because noticed in DCS World problem occurs on all planes, all axis YAW, PITCH, ROLL are working at 150% of TrackIR axis by default which is not what TIR user expects. In-game Y saturation advisable @ 64 value out of 100 % to correct DCS behaviour with TrackIR drivers to 1:1 axis ratios.

Before I try it, question: does it simulate radio signal quality and distortions as in FM or AM signals, radio horizon based on altitude, terrain (visibility of antennas), and other radio wave effects?

I will migrate last .lua file into my Saved Games folder manually. Now regarding <51>SERVER, we have trouble. Due to high rate of requests regarding exports have been disabled (false'd) in network.cfg file for our server. Server admins asks us on what particular times we wish to have TARS compatibility (read: we will enable exports on certain times), then we can make TARS fly-in events on <51>SERVER. I'd be really happy to organize such TARS fly-in event on large scale. Where users can test TARS to the max, with their preferable aircrafts, exchange experiences and help others with configuration. This is file list, how it should be, if you are running TACVIEW + TARS + HELIOS %USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\ network.cfg - with exports enabled "true" %USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\ Export.lua - with HELIOS code ending with --file ends with dofiles like dofile("./Config/Export/TacviewExportDCS.lua") dofile(lfs.writedir().."Scripts\\TARSExport.lua") now in c:\Games\DCS World\Config\Export\ you should find only one file TacviewExportDCS.lua and in the c:\Games\DCS World\Scripts\ Export.lua should be left above folder untouched, and there should be no legacy TARS files or folders inside DCS install folder (delete all of them!) and/or user folder (if you did manual editing). I noticed these manual checks have to be done to avoid having left over TARS files (probably conflicting or dead) if you installed newer version of TARS over older version of TARS before TARS was compatible with changes to DCS regarding how user lua files are handled in windows user saved games folders.

Asked server admin to investigate network.cfg file first...

It seems TARS no longer works only on our <51>SERVER. Although my touch-panel with dials and switches (HELIOS) works fine, and it uses exports too. Can you quickly point me what is going on so I make sure our admin adjust file configs? Once this is fixed lets plan some TARS fly-in event, wanna?

Hi, As squad we have a kind request regarding TARS functionality. We wish to regain ability to whisper to TS3 channels with no-plugin users (while we are flying with plug-in) and be able to hear whispered response to TARS channel, while using TARS logic with TARS users on the same "TARS" named channel. Please advice if there is a workaround.

I wish to invite everyone on <51>SERVER that hosts dedicated TARS channel on its own TS3 and encourages using at the same time both AI-comms and HUMAN-comms on same regulated traffic frequencies. No one wants to develop new maps since ED announced they are replacing terrain engine soon. No SDK has been released by ED for new terrain engine supposedly called "edge". Yes, DCS needs new terrain. I'd be happy to pay 50$ for cold war era Baltic.

Hi Frostie, There is absolutely no need to mess with game lua or cfg files to fix this problem for any 6DOF aircraft! All you must do is to fix this problem in controls section of game options, dig deeper into TIR axis. Leave no restrictions whatsoever (do not edit any files). To fix 540 deg rotation ration in DCS to 360 deg rotation in TIR software, you do by resizing amount of travel from 100 to 64 in DCS axis. Here's an example for Yaw Axis. I use same on other rotating axis since all have wrong DCS 540:360 TIR degree ratio by default install. I find this a a bug, because TIR should be plug & play and corresponding 1:1 to what your head looks at in software to what your head sees in-game DCS with default axis settings (value of 100, instead of 64 that fixes it). This applies to all 6DOF planes. PS. By theory value 66 fixes wrong 540:360 ratio, but actually 64 works better imho for checking your six.

How does Intercom panel has to be configured to allow comms with ground crew? (not using easy radio here, full realism settings with TARS, fiddling with all freqs) Where in the airbases (airport apron map locations) or what kind of active or static objects (vehicles) mission designer must place to allows refuel/rearm? How close doe some have to taxi to these vehicles or objects? Does anyone have list of these objects for all countries? I am still struggling to understand logic behind this after so many changes.

It works with DCSW 1.2.3, only TARS Control Panel is not compatible with DCSW 1.2.3 due to migration of export.lua file to user scripts folders and... just check my post here: http://forum.51st.org/viewtopic.php?p=27640#p27640 If you need to test TARS with someone I am often available in TARS channel on our TS3 server: 51st.hopto.org

I have tested it, thanks for quick heads up. It's alive! TACVIEW records are OK, HELIOS works OK, TARS not tested yet, but I suppose analogy applies OK :)

c0ff, where TacviewExportDCS.lua and TARSExport.lua should be located now? In 1.2.2 they used to be there \DCS World\Config\Export

Where are the files gone from this folder DCS World\Config\Export After 1.2.3 update Export folder is empty! This broke: HELIOS, TARS, TACVIEW, all depends on finding .lua files in this folder. Please keep at least template .lua files like before so these apps correctly recognize installation.
