It would be awsome if you uploaded this in the user files section sir:)

Quoted for truth. These are very wise words sir:thumbup:

Hell this sim will outlive any OS let alone game. Seiously, nobody is gonna produce a sim of the A10 better than this so I'll be playin DCS A10C till they box me up and RMA me back to Jesus.
-
Whats the brief for that one? I got up to 7 but gave up as the CAP doesn't engage so I get nailed by the Migs.
-
Gotta say i'm pretty lucky. The lady in my life leaves me alone most of the time, it's only the odd occasion that she messes with my TIR or shakes the chair violently (earthquake training apparently) All that'll change though as we're planning to have a kid in a couple of years so i'll make the best of it now.
-
Bummer, oh well maybe someone will fix it eventually :(
-
Does this mission work correctly? I keep calling for fighter support but it never seems to arrive and the Migs keep getting me. What is the strategy for this one please? Any help would be much appreciated as this one is driving me nuts:helpsmilie:

UK people... where did you get your TrackIR?
Scarecrow replied to 112th_Rossi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Does it work in 64bit? I saw a thread were there was some problem but that was a while ago so they mabe fixed it? @OP I got my TIR3 and then later vector expanision from RC Simulations, they're a small family business so you get to feel good about supporting the small business community:D I don't know about the free head tracking solutions but naturalpoint are really on the ball when it comes to driver support, i had some probs when they brought out the 64bit drivers went on the forum then got p.m. from a dev team member who found a workaround for me and two weeks later they had new drivers out. You won't get that level of support from many peripheral hardware manufacturers! -
Thanks very much for the update Luckybob and Wags it's a great privilge to be able to have such access to a dev team, can't wait for Nevada. Will Vegas be on the map and will it be true to life i.e will trademark stuff restrict the use of the casinos/hotels logos etc?

See the little plants on the ground infront of the trees in Poko's pic? Those are the Clutterbrush. The value you give them is how many metres around the camera they are drawn. Edit. Clutterbushes lol

Cool thanks guys.

I've often noticed my CDU displaying Mark Z info and now that it has a TAD symbol it got me wondering why does it do this, what is triggering it?

Low level valley run to kill an SA-3.

Great vids guys, I'll be trying that miz. I actually said holy s**t out load at the oil rig and the inverted under bridge in the second vid, incredible flying! -
No labels no externals, learn to enjoy losing! Theres no challenge with labels in A10, call in SEAD/CAS, anchor at IP then use the TAD to hook target locations and mark. At the end you have a bunch of marks to explore with the TGP from a safe distance, thats what I do and if I get shot down so be it;)

talk me out of returning my TM Warthog HOTAS
Scarecrow replied to gear_monkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I bought my Hogstick back in december and have not had any of the Firmware problems that were prevalent on release. Its a great stick for A10 and for FC2, but I still prefer the G940 for use in IL2 COD. One thing that really does worry me is the delamination of the collar ring here:- http://www.warthogworld.com/hangar/showthread.php?65-Delamination-of-Anti-friction-Buffer-Ring . I truley hope TM will make parts available for purchase if this is a big problem. -
Try using the zoom keys / and * on the numpad to increase or decrease your FOV. Locate the switch zoomed out then zoom in on the switch and then pause TIR if neccessary to make adjustments to ILS radio frequency etc. There are snapviews for the radios, CDU and ILS panels aswell.

+1 The ED team are first in their field, the features added in 09 could easily have been selling points for the upgrade pack but we get it for free now.:)
-
Thankyou I was a bit puzzled by this myself. P.S. Patch is great, cockpit shadows are so atmospheric, tuning to Vaziani ILS much easier.
-
You could add the pinky/paddle as a modifier within the DCS contols page and retain the PnP ability, thats what I've done. Target would be a real PITA to setup as you'd have to set up a bunch of keystrokes then figure out the press and release logic for all the switches to get them working as should be.

I also like repeating even the most basic training over and over till i'm statisfied I know what I'm doing. I didn't even fly a mission till january and I had the beta since day 2 (best day of 2010). I still regularly drill IFR ILS, and air to air refualing as you never know when you'll need to do it. I've flown full switch (the only sim I can fly full switch) since day one as labels aren't needed when you have a TGP which makes the successful completion of a mission soo satisfying. Still scared of online though as my understanding of correct landing pattern and taxiway etiquette needs work. WarriorX's tutorials have been a great help in digesting the CDU section of the manual (it's so dry, really the only bit I shyed away from). I'm now doing the same thing in IL2 COD for eventual full switch leveling of London. This is the way I have fun now, took me 10 years to work up to a study sim but I'm glad I did, just have to buy Blackshark now :book:

To my mind I'd say get peddles and cheap headtracking but once you have the money get TIR it's a neccesity. Everything else kinda falls to your own personal taste, I have the TM MFD's on a second moniter but could easily fly without them but no peddles or TIR = no fly.

Seriously considering an G-940 FS
Scarecrow replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sound reasoning, the G940 was the biggest hardware anticlimax ever without doubt. Aimed at the high end with worse precision than anything else on the market, to its credit i really like the stick and FFB in prop sims. You'll never regret a Warthog once they're availble in your area. -

That is a sweet piece of engineering, good on ya:thumbup: I wish I had your skill, I just have to save up and throw money at all my problems;) -
Seriously considering an G-940 FS
Scarecrow replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah Mark makes the G940 look like the next best thing in flight simming, but it's all hype I'm afraid. DCS sims don't work well as the response curve doesn't follow the trimmed position, and can't because Logitech are a useless development partner. IL2 COD just had FFB effects thrown in last week but they aren't great and they aren't using the Logitech/Immersion co API so the effects are basically what was in IL2 1946 only not as good yet. The G940 also suffers from the Reversal Bug which makes small adjustment of throttle, trims and peddles impossible so it's no use for tanking or formation flying. I still have the G940 and hope to use the stick only in IL2 COD if they improve the FFB effects. The FFB effects in ROF are quite good I hear. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/Sell-me-on-the-Logitech-G940/td-p/581764 Do not buy a G940 they are poop! Get a CH setup they are good! Or a Warthog they are awsome! -
Hope I'm not to late to add this, I think it would be vey educational to see videos of you completing the BFT campaign missions here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62992
