  1. Very happy with the F-35. My Kola map awaits it.
  2. I'll take an F-35. Don't care if it missing a few things, I just want a nice DCS representation of it so I can enjoy flying it around.
  3. What about my passion? What about my support? What da dilli-o- daddy-o?
  4. There have been "Beyond" videos ranging from under 3 minutes to over 6 minutes. Any guesses for this one? I think it's between 8 and 10 this time. Beaucoup hype to hype to try and raise morale.
  5. C-130 FTW! Maybe there will be an "Available now!" featured with the trailer.
  6. It's like Christmas and New Years all specially packaged up just for nerds.
  7. I wonder what time? I have some work to do tomorrow but there's a big screen TV there, so...
  8. From Stormbirds: https://stormbirds.blog/2025/01/13/razbam-provides-two-brief-updates-on-their-ongoing-eagle-dynamics-dispute/
  9. Oh yeah, that would go over real well.
  10. Me. I should be ashamed at how happy I am about it, but I'm not.
  11. We'll know on Thursday. Unless of course they announce something silly like an F-111 or an AH-1 instead.
  12. I called the secret reveal for the 2025 video as being he Yak-52 getting illuminated cockpit dials.
  13. Just checked and I bought mine in Feb. 2018. One would think the player base has grown since the map came out and many excellent maps have been released and NTTR is still #3 in ownership, at least in that survey. Now, there can be excuses and reasons and provisions and "Yeah, but... !!!" until the cows come home. It was still #3 in ownership in that survey. I would imagine there will be no shortage of ink spilled to qualify why the map is terrible and useless and smells like an old fish left in your sock drawer, but a lot of people really like it, and after a survey of 3600 DCS flyers, it was #3 in ownership. There is often a surprising amount of support for it, though many, myself included, would like to see it get a new coat of paint. That's fine. I was happy to pay for it and I will be happy to pay for NTTR 2.0 when it is announced on Thursday. .
  14. You can do the same thing with the NTTR map that you can with all the maps; fly on it. It's up to each person to make his flights enjoyable. As stated, I use the NTTR to try out new modules and figure out weapons and systems. That round patch of salt flats just touching the north end of the runway at Groom Lake has seen megatons of destruction in my DCS world. It's my test bed. Now I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's why we have multiple planes and maps, something for everyone. I think the NTTR map is far more popular than thought and when NTTR 2.0 is announced on Thursday, there will be lots of happy people. Including me.
  15. Ummmm... okay. Of course we both know I'll be flying my Strike Eagle tonight.
  16. Great post! I like the Alien Inn. When I get a new module or want to figure out some systems, that's my testing ground.
  17. Yes, something very wrong did happen: the other guy let himself get all blowed up. He should try harder in his next virtual life. Sounds like fun, but that feature lacking in no way detracts from the map. The map is still enjoyable.
  18. That's okay. I use it enough for the both of us. The little people in the little planes are simulated. You can make them go "Boom!" and have a mostly clear conscience.
  19. Yep, Kola and the Phantom. That's some top shelf flightsim goodness right there.

    Goodbye DCS?

Amen! There are several legitimate things to bee-yatch and whine about in DCS - no biological weapons, WTF! - but taking the sim first and foremost as a flight simulator and marveling at being able to fly Eagles and Warthogs and Hornets in the most complete and detailed reproduction available, replete with Haagen-Dazs eye candy in the air and on the ground, that's my jam. I'm not passing that by because of a bug here and there or something being incomplete. I'll get out of it everything I can. I'm here for the fun of flying. I just want to fly and I want it to look great and be cool. And none of the other sims feel as tight and well put together as DCS.
  21. Ol' Spudknockers's last survey (3600 responses) had the NTTR map as the third most owned. I'd be delighted to see it get a paint job. And I'd be delighted to pay for it. I think it will be the secret reveal... NTTR 2.0
