A year is a long time to people who paid for stuff.

Mine too. It's not that the others are useless, but the F-15E A2G radar is McMiles ahead of the pack. If you're going to do a precision attack with an A2G radar, it's the Strike Eagle every day and twice on Sunday. Mmmmmm... delicious!

I do a lot of tourism flying in DCS and this looks like a great map for sight seeing. And I'm loving those big airfields.

Safe to say he's referring to A2G radars for precision targeting.

For the common man? (Sorry, I had to.)

I would like to either have very well lit airfields or at least the option for very well lit airfields. Night landings and flying in general are much more enjoyable when the eye candy gets turned up. That's it, thank you. Looking forward to this map.

Germany Cold War Announcement | Steam Spring Sale 2025
Beirut replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
More maps is better maps. -
I'd prefer the upcoming C-130 is free and comes with the game. And the FF MIg-29. And a beer.
-
But that all weather day night A2G action with the radar targeting... it's too delicious to live without.

If I was younger I'd play out my pride and refuse to buy more stuff from RB. But at my age, if it's cool and I can buy it and fly it - I'm buying it and flying it. Boomers FTW!

5070 review. For those considering it.
Beirut replied to AngleOff66's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Amazon Canada has the 5070 at around $1800 and the 5080 at $3500. The 5090 is available for the low low price of... $7500. ($1250, $2400, and $5200 in US dollars.) -

Every review I watched said "don't". -
But customers are not losing the ability to use what they bought, are they?
-
Mi-26. Because... big.

Steam gives you two-hours of product use or two-weeks after purchase. I've had several items refunded. Think I've only been refused once. Count on it.

I fly it constantly on principle because it's fun. And I that A2G radar. I understand your disappointment, I share it, but even in its unmaintained state it's a seriously enjoyable plane to fly around. It's a great big fat fast fighter with a serious payload and some groovy tech toys. And I'm going to make sure I get my money's worth of fun out of it. .

Well I am buying new releases. I will enjoy flying my planes as much as I can. Including the F-15E of course. I think it's a lot of fun.

Back when we had flightsim magazines, maybe they still exists, there was a story about a guy who joined the armed forces to be a pilot. When he went up on one of his very first flights with an instructor, to learn the absolute basics, the instructor was surprised at how well the guy handled the plane even though he had no real life experience. The guy told him he had practiced a ton in the civvy sim.

I think I have a Gen 3 MB. I'm happy with the game performance, but I need a new drive and was curious about the differences.
-
Absolutely. That said, and maybe I'm in the minority, but I spend half my DCS time just flying for fun. The graphics are certainly good enough to enjoy the eye candy, and the planes are The Best!, so being a flightsimmer... I flightsim. And the more planes and maps we have, the more just flying around is fun. And you'd think I'd get tired of my Phantom WSO patting me on the head and telling me how wonderful my landings are. But I don't. "You're a good boy! You're such a good boy!"

Do you think there is a performance gap between an SSD and an NVME drive? I have DCS on a dedicated 1TB NVME but am considering a 2TB SSD.

Indeed, that's sound business practice amongst all developers of all products. "Please abandon us mentally. Thank you."
