Indeed, that's sound business practice amongst all developers of all products. "Please abandon us mentally. Thank you."

Love to see a top rated sim prop, like the A2A Comanche, brought to DCS. I would absolutely grab it. .

Yeah, the Hornet would be a great first module. My suggestion for an FC plane was for an inexpensive taste test. I just checked and I bought the A-10A and the F-15C the same day back in 2017. I got the BRRRRTTTT! and the speed for a low price. I think that's a great start.

I would suggest they buy an FC plane as an inexpensive way to see if they enjoy the sim. Either the F-15C or the A-10A, depending if they prefer A2G or A2A. Get it on sale for $10 and you're going to have a lot of fun for not a lot of money. I would never suggest a trainer just because it's a trainer. You're right, that would be ridiculous.

I think ED just wants us to enjoy flying the planes to a degree that makes us stay engaged with the sim. And that works for me. I have lots of DCS planes of all kinds and have never done a cold start in any of them. Not once. Probably never will. It's not on my fun list so I'm not doing it. And ED knows there are people like me buying planes who aren't interested in cold starts and shut downs so they have "cheat keys" for easy starts and stops. The point is that the sim is built for a wide variety of flying types. "Here's a plane. Do with it as you will and have as much fun as you can." Again, that works for me. Fortunately you live in the information age. There's a marvelous thing out there called "The Interweb". And if you can get your hands on a computer, you can access it and get all the information you will ever require. It's really quite something.

Did you update? Are you sure you bought the whole package and not just one part?

I noticed he doesn't use his mirrors. Is he trying to keep his frame rate up? Great videos! If you don't want to fly the Harrier after watching those, ya got a problem.
-
Wasn't impressed with Afghanistan at first but this was a quality improvement. It's a much more enjoyable map now.
-
That! I spend as much time just flying for fun and I do flying for death and destruction. Whether the F-15E or the Hornet has a whack o' bombs on it or not, they're great fun to fly.
-
It's not ironic at all. People buy it to enjoy flying it. We read a review, watch some videos, and decide that the plane looks cool and might be fun. That's why I bought the Yak-52. It looked interesting and fun to fly.
-
And even though I keep landing at Bodo on the Kola map I bought in DCS, I still never wake up in Norway in real life.
-
The Aghan map is looking sweet. Can't wait for the DL to finish and try it out.
-
Not if it's fun.

Excellent news on the Afghan map. As for: AI Aircraft. Mi-28 explodes during start from a small little helipad - fixed. Is there a difference between small helipads, little helipads, and "small little" helipads? This could have significant tactical consequences.
-
But it also means that without DCS, all we'd have would be the civvy sims with mushy flight models and no "Kaboom!" I think we're lucky to have that one option.
-
Damn straight! Where else can we get hyper-detailed military jets to fly around? The civvy sim military jets have FMs that feel like melted ice cream and don't look nearly as good. And they have no "Kaboom!" We get the tight FMs, the best aircraft eye candy, and the "Kaboom!"

That's pretty funny, I didn't even think of that. I meant in real life, when do you enjoy sitting down and flying? I should have been more clear.
-
I prefer early morning, which is not convenient at times, work and all that. But flying just before sunrise with a cup of coffee is my my favourite time. And I'm curious what others think.
-
But then the question arises yet again - if you can read and participate in this thread and register your opinions, then shouldn't others be allowed to do the same? Also, this thread requires voluntary effort to read and participate in. The easiest thing in the world for anyone to do who does not enjoy this thread is simply not read it and participate in it. I believe that would solve the problem.
-
I'm hot and heavy for it, but I hope "later this year" turns out to be later this month.
-
That was a mighty short newsletter. Deephack's podcast will need more things to talk about tomorrow.
-
You mean the "useless thread" you have been reading and participating in? If you can read it and participate in it, others should be allowed to do the same.

This is part of the reason I'm not always as patient as I should be when people....... express concern, about paying for asset packs. It's just a few bucks, and it's only the second set. It's not like that other older sim with a long series of micro transactions where you paid for a scarf your pilot could wear. And each colour was another $1. That's not what's going on here. This is a heavy duty, very sophisticated flightsim. And **** ain't free. Ya want more, ya gotta pay for more. If ED wants $10 or whatever for PTO assets and that makes my flights better, I'm fine with that. Just make cool stuff and I'm happy to pay for it.

Still there on Steam.
