  1. Lacks the requisite drama.
  2. It's like some people think they will be taking the plane to war and any imperfections will lead to the demise of The Empire itself. It's flightsim. Just have fun and have a nice flight. Maybe enjoy a tasty beverage while you're at it. I plan on enjoying the F-35 very much.
  3. Egg-xactly! Is it cool, is it fun, does it feel like a good representation of the real thing? That's what matters most.
  4. Tire pressure first! Not another word. This year: C-130, La-7, Mig-29, and probably (part of) Germany since maps seem to be coming out fast and furious.
  5. Well, if the tire pressure is happy, I guess I'm happy too. Good video this year.
  6. For me it boils down to a few key ingredients: Will it be cool, will it be fun, and will it impart the feeling of flying the real thing? If yes, that's all I need.
  7. DCS is a flight simulator. The F-35 is an airplane. Works for me.
  8. Beirut

    Thank You!

I'll probably skip it a I'm an A2G guy and I love my E model. But if others are happy, I'm happy.
  9. Very happy with the F-35. My Kola map awaits it.
  10. I'll take an F-35. Don't care if it missing a few things, I just want a nice DCS representation of it so I can enjoy flying it around.
  11. What about my passion? What about my support? What da dilli-o- daddy-o?
  12. There have been "Beyond" videos ranging from under 3 minutes to over 6 minutes. Any guesses for this one? I think it's between 8 and 10 this time. Beaucoup hype to hype to try and raise morale.
  13. C-130 FTW! Maybe there will be an "Available now!" featured with the trailer.
  14. It's like Christmas and New Years all specially packaged up just for nerds.
  15. I wonder what time? I have some work to do tomorrow but there's a big screen TV there, so...
  16. Me. I should be ashamed at how happy I am about it, but I'm not.
  17. We'll know on Thursday. Unless of course they announce something silly like an F-111 or an AH-1 instead.
  18. I called the secret reveal for the 2025 video as being he Yak-52 getting illuminated cockpit dials.
  19. Just checked and I bought mine in Feb. 2018. One would think the player base has grown since the map came out and many excellent maps have been released and NTTR is still #3 in ownership, at least in that survey. Now, there can be excuses and reasons and provisions and "Yeah, but... !!!" until the cows come home. It was still #3 in ownership in that survey. I would imagine there will be no shortage of ink spilled to qualify why the map is terrible and useless and smells like an old fish left in your sock drawer, but a lot of people really like it, and after a survey of 3600 DCS flyers, it was #3 in ownership. There is often a surprising amount of support for it, though many, myself included, would like to see it get a new coat of paint. That's fine. I was happy to pay for it and I will be happy to pay for NTTR 2.0 when it is announced on Thursday. .
  20. You can do the same thing with the NTTR map that you can with all the maps; fly on it. It's up to each person to make his flights enjoyable. As stated, I use the NTTR to try out new modules and figure out weapons and systems. That round patch of salt flats just touching the north end of the runway at Groom Lake has seen megatons of destruction in my DCS world. It's my test bed. Now I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's why we have multiple planes and maps, something for everyone. I think the NTTR map is far more popular than thought and when NTTR 2.0 is announced on Thursday, there will be lots of happy people. Including me.
