  1. Must have been a Google translate error. I think you meant to say: "Let me fly the C-130 for at least a month ...then the Mig-29."
  2. I'm digging your enthusiasm. Still not sure about the size or resolution. That's a question of money (what isn't?) and my hardware which runs 2k very well but 4K would be a stretch perhaps. Back to Amazon to look at monitors.
  3. Title says it all. I'm looking at new monitor options, which is kind of like like doing algebra, and I was curious about DCS & OLED. Aside from cost, burn-in, and any other uses for the screen, 95% of my interest is simply how DCS looks with it. I have a very nice 27" 1440p monitor now and I'm curious about the change/upgrade to OLED, be it 27" or 32". Thank you.
  4. Just one of the C-130 people sitting here and waiting for any smidge of a hint of a whiff of news.
  5. Like right now. I think it's great! I spend half my DCS time just flying around because it's a great flightsim. I'm here for the planes and the fun. Sure, I enjoy the high-tech MFD watch-things-go-Kaboom! aspect of it, but first and foremost it's all about the planes and the flying, and for me DCS is the tightest rightest flightsim ever. I just love the flying.
  6. Oh please let it be so.
  7. Brings hope and expectation of a big fat one coming in next time.
  8. Maybe not in your house. In my house the flying is great fun. I flew yesterday and had fun. I'll fly tonight and have fun. And I'll fly tomorrow night and odds are I'll have fun again. Because flying in DCS is fun.
  9. The problem may simply be that I'm cheap. Not sure why I started with DCS on Steam, but it has always worked for me so I stick with it. And I like the Steam wallet function. I'm surprised the Standalone version doesn't have it.
  10. Steam Canada is showing a 13% discount on the Mig-29. Any idea why 13% when 30% is mentioned in the newsletter? null
  11. Been a big fan of the SA map since day one. Great to it's getting so much love.
  12. You can if yo nerd learn.
  13. The insinuation that the maps are inadequate isn't a reasonable thing to say. As mentioned, I bought the NTTR map seven-years ago and have enjoyed it very much. I still use it often. Now while it might look dated in comparison to a map that came out this year, you have to remember it's also seven or eight-years old. And it still works as well as the day I bought it. Not everything is all new and shiny, though we might want it to be, but that doesn't mean it's inadequate. It just means it's an older map. I have all the maps and I fly them all and enjoy them all, even if they aren't all of equal "fanciness". And there is such variety and quality in the maps now that no one should feel left out given the offerings. I'd love to see the NTTR map get some serious love, and I'd be happy to pay for it. But in no way do I see the map as inadequate.
  14. That's not a reasonable comment. The PG map got an excellent night lighting update a while ago and it's a good looking map. I think the night lighting was kind of a tech demo and it looks excellent. The NTTR is old but there are a surprising amount of people, like myself, who really enjoy it. I bought the NTTR map in 2018. Hard to call it abandonware when it's worked properly and enjoyably, in my case, for seven-years. As for the Caucasus, I think it should stay on the "simple side". It's a good free map that everyone can run well. We have lots of big new maps that are heavy on the specs, so having the Caucasus as a spec-friendly map for new players or those with older PCs is a good idea.
  15. Being a good Canadian, I always have duct tape on hand. I'll just cover them up and take the tape off when I actually need them.
  16. 15, 16, and 18. I like my high-tech toys.
  17. Or just annoy the **** out of you on a screen.
  18. I would imagine there will be an option to turn it off.
  19. Really looking forward to this. I wonder, in the grand scheme of things, just how popular a plane this will be? I'm thinking it will be hot ticket indeed.
  20. I'll have to watch some DCS VR for Dummies videos before I make any purchases.
  21. I have a 3700X/64 RAM/4070 12GB. I'd guess that's at least a workable setup.
  22. Had my very first VR experience about a week ago. My daughter's boyfriend has a nice racing simpit and he set it up for me. For a solid ten-minutes I just sat there looking around and trying to touch my VR arms that were on the steering wheel. After a while he's telling me the car actually moves and I can drive around if I want to. Then I spent another ten-minutes watching a helicopter fly around the track and all I could think of was what VR choppers must be like in DCS. I still hadn't moved the car. Between the price, the complexity, and the possible barfing, I'm hesitant to buy in, but it sure it impressive. The VR guys who have everything dialed in must be having some glorious flights.
  23. No RCAF? Once again the sadness takes hold.
  24. Oh I'm pretty sure you'll get your money's worth out of it, my friend. And I'm very certain I will.
