  1. I don't get all the complaining about the Kola map. It's quite a little hobby group of people whining about it. All I can say is if ya don't like it - don't buy it. That's simple enough. I bought the Kola map and I love it. All the maps have their own charm and uses.
  2. Oh yeah - thank you for the nice new map. Downloading now.
  3. Looks great! And reinforces the truth that Kola is still being well maintained by ORBX. Love me some Kola map. For me it's a 65GB update. And I don't think that includes the new Marianas map. Glad I just put in a 2TB DCS-only NVME drive. .
  4. I feel like a bit of a cheesebag, but I can buy it on Steam and try it out for two-hours and return it if I don't like it. I usually don't do that intentionally as a "free trial", but I might this time. I've returned four or five modules I've bought over the years, but then rebought all but one. I find with the WWII planes it's more hit and miss with first impressions than with the jets and choppers.
  5. No, it just means everything will be super expensive and overly complicated.
  6. It might get me to buy the Corsair if the implementation is cool enough. 'Cause I mean... it has to be cool.
  7. If there is a Pacific Assets Pack and it's payware it's fine by me. As long as the toys are high quality I don't mind paying for them.
  8. I don't see that at all. I think it's a very enjoyable map and ORBX isn't "retreating" from it at all.
  9. #1 - I need my community-made RCAF skins. #2 - A few asset mods. #3 - There is no #3.
  10. Defintely giving this a go. Thank you for putting in all the work.
  11. Wasn't confused, just saying that one of the modules recently didn't have the discount included when the module came up for sale on Steam. Took a day or two I think and then the discount was enacted. No complaints, just mentioning it.
  12. Yeah, I got all the DCS discounts on my Steam purchases, I just had to wait until release day sometimes. Can't remember which module, but the discount wasn't listed, I mentioned it here and it kicked in pretty quick afterwards. No complaints about Steam from me.
  13. I had the same thought. Hope it doesn't become a thing.
  14. I'm not 100% on this one. Although I love the Russian stuff, I'm not a big A2A guy, and I already have the FC3 version. Not sure if I'll get it. But as I am on Steam, I have to wait anyway so there is time to ponder.
  15. I bought the L-39 on sale and I'm very happy with it.
  16. I heard Nick Grey call it a game during an interview. And the world spins on...
  17. The Cold War sale ended around noon today on Steam. Just before leaving for work I bought the L-39. Loaded it up when I got home and what a great little plane. Love me some DCS sales!
  18. Thank you.
  19. Howdy, I am thinking of getting the Mig-21, maybe today while it's still on sale, and I spend a lot of time on the Kola map. So it's confirmed that navigations works on the Kola map?
  20. It's saying "Hello" to me. Prepping me for all its imminent flying goodness.
  21. I like seeing C-130s. Gives me hope.
  22. And where were you when I needed you? The OS is on a 1TB SSD C drive, and DCS was all alone on a 1TB NVME E: drive. Now DCS is all alone on a 2TB NVME. And there's no question I could have done this more efficiently, but my concern was being able to do it at all without screwing the pooch beyond all repair. As it turns out the only hiccup was the drive letter on the new install is F: and the old was E:, and Steam doesn't seem to care. And now I have all my lovely maps installed. 'Cause ya gotta have all your lovely maps installed.
  23. 64 RAM at least and lotsa storage. Many DCS install are over 1TB now.
