  1. A10 is low speed and carries (2) aim9 on just about every flight I thought.
  2. Not sure of all the circumstances but why land at 300km/h? Nose looks pretty unscathed for such a high speed crash landing.
  3. Thrust vector control? Hopefully they all have redundant backups for their flight critical hydraulic systems.
  4. What is a TVC?
  5. Come on, Pakistan has said they are not helping the Taliban. You do not believe them? I mean, Osama was at least the full length of a football field away from the military base. Way outside any reasonable distance for routine security checks.
  6. You can get the DOF effect in PS. You were on the right track, just wrong type of blur used. http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/depth-of-field/
  7. What is the F15 booty? I think he meant the booty under the GAU in one of the last shots.
  8. Wow formation landings. Never seen that before. Now lets see some commercial airliner formation maneuvers.
  9. Got the shooter, but the leader escaped somehow. http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/08/10/afghanistan.seals.chopper/index.html?eref=igoogledmn_topstories
  10. That shape just always makes me think reactor. Both videos are great and enjoyable. Love the dogfighting A10s. Blip of the GAU destroys jets. Too bad its so heavy. Would be great fitted to an F15.
  11. Is that a nuclear power plant at 2:05?
  12. What is this pod next to the Mav?
  13. If those flare boxes are empty, why not put a stinger rail on the ends of the wings?
  14. I would think the USA pretty much does their flight training in Base areas which are usually restricted to military personnel. Not sure about the area around nellis, but that could be a possibility. That spot is much better than an air show. You are looking straight at the jets not up at them. Cannot ask for a better place to watch military jets zoom by.
  15. Not many. I browsed nearly all the choppers types and only remember a few. When they occurred the blades were noted as killing pilots and passengers when the blade cut through the cabin.
  16. Not sure what problems a jerky take off would have. It would not be like trying to read a book that someone else is holding. The cockpit might jiggle just like is available with camera jiggle today, but its not like you would go to push a button and it would suddenly be 4" away due to a/c attitude change. During take off and landings the RIO is basically just along for the ride usually. No button pushing would be necessary.
  17. That 229 must have been nearly impossible to fly in a dogfight. B2 only flys as well as it does thanks to computer aided designs and flight computer programming.
  18. http://www.armyaircrews.com/index.html Browsing through it seems that most crashes are due to night and weather. Also seems to be a lot of wire strikes. Was amazed at how few crashes due to enemy fire there were. Completely opposite of my experience in DCS BS. :music_whistling: RIP to all the crew in the lists.
  19. Drawing a blank. What is this plane?
  20. None of those are filters. There must be some sort of possible gaseous leak near where the bleed air enters the system. If not, pilots who wear their oxy mask would not be effected. Not sure how big of a tank would be needed to have sealed oxy for F22, but that would definitely fix the problem. Why can't the air just be taken from the nose of the plane? I have no idea about fluid dynamics, but wouldn't the air hitting the nose of the plane enter a hole on the nose just as easily as the hole in the compressor?
  21. I call BS. Thats not a real Hawg. They are throwing Blue training bombs and they are exploding.
  22. Sorry, I was confused by your post then. I thought you were saying that if it was not as complex as DCS, all planes would look and feel the same. I do not have FC2, so no idea how those planes fly, but I assume they are all different as they should be.
  23. The nightmare would be part of the fun in a SIM. And, if I get it wrong, i dont have to die. IL2 planes dont "feel" the same. They all handled different. Do not see why a modern jet sim can not do the same.
  24. Cant believe there is no filtration on the oxygen system. Its sucking air into the system from INSIDE the damn jet engine.
  25. "The Navy’s F-35C was also grounded for six days in June due to a software problem with the wing-fold mechanism that might have caused the flight control surfaces to freeze in flight. The aircraft returned to flight June 23." The wings fold on the F35? Thats news to me.
