No matter how many times I see pictures of the back of the foxbat, it always looks like a couple wings stuck to 2 solid rocket boosters. Those engines are just so massive.

Wow that really does make it quiet. I was always curious how they would make a radar stealth chopper as I also thought the rotor would create a huge radar signature.

If the F16 was so great the indians would have taken the deal the US was giving them on them. No, they wanted something better. Euro fighter is getting the nod over the inferior F16. not sure why the US could not have sold the F22 with downgraded avionics and engines or something. Who needs 11 billion dollars to stimulate the economy though.

So the ground will be much more DCS than Outerra. That sucks. Helicopters fly close to the ground. Making a good terrain engine needs to be priority in helicopter games. Especially civy games where there are no weapons or enemy AI to worry about hogging resources.

Say what? I bought helios on launch for $60 and now its free and so are gauge packs? That stings a bit. :(

Havent checked the scs site in a while but there was a CDU with out a screen replicator a long time ago. No idea if they ever got a screen replicator to work or not. You need to buy gauge packs for it or you will not have any of the CDU buttons or textures. You can make your own though by using the standard buttons and doing all the binding yourself. I think the gauge packs are $19.99.

I lowered my response curves and the plane is much more flyable now. I am still playing the demo right now. One of the available missions is to take out a 5 car convoy. I can not keep the pipper on them to save my life. Seems to always bob around sometimes when I press the trigger it lurches. Can you explain the response grid to me? What does the center of the two axis represent? What does above and what does below center mean? I assume center is center. Going above the line is one direction of axis and going below line is other direction. Left and right is the % of full deflection?

Got ICE and I have to say its a pretty steep curve so far. Not sure if its just my joystick setup at this point or what. I can not keep the pipper on a target and the plane is so twitchy. Any advice?

Everything was a slide show back in the 486 era. And today kids complain when they do not get over 40fps. Wish they could go back to the good old days when 5 fps was amazing.

Heh, and I was about to go purchase. This is why I hate steam and any other verification scheme and prefer to buy retail copies.

EE lightning needs a sim for sure. Would buy any cold war jet sim though. No expense was spared on those jets.

F14 is western and still classified. ED does not build sims on hints, they do it on solid facts. No idea about how long russia keeps planes classified, but the F14 has been out of service for like 10+ years.

Intruder would be awesome. Flight of the intruder was such a great flick.

What is considered a good enough PC to play this on high? I only game at 1080p. Does the purchased game come with 8 flyables or are those purchased add-ons?

I never picked up RoF because when it came out my computer was even more lacking than it is now. Would I be missing out on anything by just getting this iron cross edition? Do they start with the same planes?
