Hi all. Unsure what the problem is with high pings to our server currently, other than it was moved from a ded 20 mbyte line to an ADSL during a transition period of fibre which was completed (hardware) today. Pings should reduce in the coming days, but essentially the 'box' you are connecting to is 'dedicated' in every way. It serves DCS-A-10C and nothing else. No Win updates ot other programs running in the background. We are not alone BTW with server and client pintg timeouts. It is endemic within the titles, like it or loathe it. Finally, apologies for dramas you are having, but to be frank the server is provided for my members first - the 74th. Everyone is welcome to fly on our server, but is a definite second. 'T'

cold and dark??????????????????????? i missed something in over 10 years of simming?

If FC2 can be 'patched' to DCS Blackshark it stands to reason to patch it to A-10C. Edit: Thats a personal opinion btw and in no way reflects devlopment.................................or not.

Nice. Or....................................by a corsair H50 or a CooliT Eco water cooler and run a 955BE OC to 4.1 ghz at 30 degrees idle and 42 degrees full load. Nuff said. 'T'

This is not a recruiting drive. We currently are at peak numbers. This is nothing other than a 'gift' to those members of the community who will get something out of them. Greetings fellow A-10C pilots. In the 74th, we have a training college. The college has three schools. Flight, Naviagtion and Engagement, in that order. Our Candidates start in the Flight School and make there way through the 6 lessons until their final assessment which is done online. Each Lesson is taught via a forum entry with pictures and text, custom made and specific to our own College. Prior to our candidates downloading a mission pack they are given the option of watching a video where the specific lesson in question has been completed. Until now, these videos were unlisted on youtube, but i have decided to open them due to the huge number of new pilots to the sim who just need a little bit of guidance and is their first time in the A-10C, or as is the case for some, new to flight sims fiull stop! To the majority of you (LO, FC 1.12, FC2), these videos will be of little use, they are very basic maneuvers that you could do with your eyes shut. I would ask you all to bear in mind that each 'video' is 'part' of a lesson, that is to say that the video makes more sense when watched after reading the lesson info in our college. Clearly, the college is only open to our candidates and this information is ommited. "ok, ok already, god you go on! how do i see these videos??" You may access these videos by going to youtube and searching for 'tigerpwrr' without the ''. When the videos are listed, click on the name, not the video title returned from the search. This will take you to our official Youtube Homepage as listed on the DCS Main Wiki or by going direct to the video listing here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Tigerpwrr#g/u Alternatively, they are accessible on our website in the A-10C videos and screenshots forum as a sticky. On behalf of all members of the 74th vfs 'The Flying Tigers' - enjoy. We hope they are of some use to some of you. Regards 'T'

Sometimes even after alignment (that is to say selecting Nav mode when INS NAV Ready flashes on CDU) when the EAC has been put to the arm position before alignment, the EAC light may not go off straight away, until you actually 'move' on the taxiway. Real life or sim bug? Hell, i don't know, i just test it. ;-) 'T'

Highlight the server. Check the actual mission description. 90% of them have Teamspeak details in the mission description. GET on Teamspeak and 'ask'!!!! My own server has the Teamspeak details, IP, Port and password in the mission description! You could always serve one yourself, open of course, and see what happens. The missions with the sim are perfectly good for it. 'T'

Hi steve, yeah, bad wording on my part there, apols. Thats what i meant - the server. Yep, for sure. The A-10C is certainly no A2A aircraft by any stretch of the imagination, but to say that PvP can't be done in it is almost ridiculous. We do that most nights and infact have an event soon with =STP=: http://www.quasar-49th.de/briefing_tool/index.php?menu=4&id=11316&style=74th&tz= this is a Pvp event and this specific Mission lends itself very well to it. As ever, you're right of course. Regards mate 'T'

Mogas, doesnt matter how many admins you have on an open server, you WILL have to restart the mission when all the TK'ing and F****** about happens. Idiots i dont have time for, i`m still the same Tyger and eat kitty cats for lunch. Somone flies into me on purpose or shoots taxiing members and they get there ass banned immediatly.
-
Kuky, slightly dissapointing. No pvp in DCS A-10C?????? you joking right?
-
Mogas, hi mate. If you think for a minute that having an open server is not going to bring you problems serving DCS A-10C, think again. FC2 is not available on steam. FC2 is nowhere near the same sort of sim as DCS A-10c, neither is it nearly as complex for the pilot. Locking a server down with the TS info in the mission description is the ONLY answer to ensure that not neccessarily idiots, but those people who dont want to go on TS and add to their SA, enter the server and screw it for others. To champion the 104th by saying that you have masses of experience of dealing with ídiots' (bearing in mind i`m from the 104th and even now still champion them despite my own very successfull vfs), is a little disheartening. So, when the runway, even from multiple airfields are trashed, you just gonna restart the mission and ruin it for others who have spent hours getting so far? No mike, of course not. But then again, you will have no choice. Ban them? a little harsh don't ya think? most are just trying to learn how to actually FLY and think that their first step is to go MP. WRONG. RTFM, Fly SP to a reasonable standard and then utilise the ATO for further progression (to the rather shallow post of the OP). If the illusion of a successfull vfs is by virtue of how many people are flying on a server, then to hell with it, mass co-ordination and actual MP imersion, open it without a password, and see what happens! Currently, any vfs could open their DEDICATED (yes we have a co-lo and deciated, like many others) server for DCS A-10C and it is full within minutes. if numbers are your game, crack on! How about the 104th contributing to the ATO system. Happy to help, of course i am, but you cant make a horse drink if he fears water! 'T'
