What is the Nvidia extended setting? You should be able to do everything in the windows display settings and not have to mess with the nvidia control panel. The resolution you set in windows must match the res in your lua files.
-
1. Yes, just set it up in windows or the nvidia control panel. Set up BS settings in the .lua files. 2. windowed when using multiple monitors the way you are 3. edit the .lua's 4. Don't know this one, but good luck! There are lots of good threads on setting up multi monitors. I have some info in my sig. You can call me on the phone also if ya want. Email me at drew182@me.com for my number.

Multimonitor frame rate HELP Please
walker450 replied to Cyclic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Man I really wish I could help ya, but I don't have an answer for ya. Have you tried turning off the virtual panel? I would try just the abris and shkval (sp) on monitor #2 and see how that does. Also, what RAM are you running? I have found tightening timings and increasing speed of RAM to be helpful when chasing fps. -
Nice!! Thanks for sharing!

Survey: Side Stick or Front and Center?
walker450 replied to polygonpusher's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome design Aaron! I prefer side-stick flying fixed wing, but a center stick for the Blackshark. The main reason for the center stick is for the extra precision and sensitivity gained by the added height. I added about 8" to my joystick. Link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=57555 -
Cool! And I totally agree with Triggerhappy, a seat alone does add immersion.

Well after I zip tied a piece of PVC pipe to my joystick to make it about 10" taller and then flying the KA-50 for a while, I decided this was a must-do mod. I could make much finer inputs and fly much more precisely. I should of done this when I first bought the game! I took the handle apart, cut the wires, and extended them. It is connected with a piece of 1/2" electrical conduit, a few screws, and a small random piece of pipe I had laying around. No in progress pics, sorry. If anyone actually wants to do this to another ST290 just email me at drew182@me.com and I'll do what I can to help you. I had already removed the centering spring and added dampers to the stick previously. I will be adding two more, possible with small springs, to counteract the added weight due to the pipe and extra leverage. Currently, the dampers will only hold the same position approximately 1 inch from center in any direction. I'll post again with my fix for this. (However, most of the movements for normal flying are close to the center anyways, so this isn't too bad) Also, I purposely rotated the handle counter-clockwise for a more natural feel. Here are some pics: And my lovely wife :)

My New Multiple Monitor Setup (pics/description)
walker450 replied to walker450's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
A quick easy way to fix the mp screens is to set both monitors to the same resolution, if that's possible. The mp menus draw to the largest width and height, and if the second or third monitors are smaller, that part of the screen just gets left off. I really hope dcs a10 does not have this problem -
I like it myself. I fly in RL (private pilot) and find it useful for practice. It seems that X-plane is also a good program with a lot of users, but I haven't used it myself.

Will trackir be worth it just for DCS A-10C
walker450 replied to kingneptune117's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1. Yes 2. No 3. Yes, but it doesn't seem to work quite as well as the hat. I've tried it and went back to a hat. -
Will trackir be worth it just for DCS A-10C
walker450 replied to kingneptune117's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think it is absolutely worth it. I notice your avatar shows someone in a small plane. This reminds me of my situation. I pay $143 USD per hour for lessons/fuel/plane rental. A lot of people think that is too much money, but to me, the enjoyment I get while flying far outweighs the cost. If you enjoy flying your sims, you will not regret paying the $150 or so for the TIR5 and pro clip. Something that has not been mentioned here is the awesome job ED has done on the virtual cockpits for the DCS series. To not use a trackir (or something just as good) would leave a lot of the immersion out of it. The first time I leaned forward in my seat and looked up over the dash of my KA-50, and had that feeling that I was really in a cockpit, I knew I made the right choice for sure. Actually, I knew I made theright choice when I ordered my trackir: Everyone on the forums posted there results and spoke about how great it is, just like now. There are plenty of things a person can do to raise $150 bucks and never notice a financial hit. Mow a couple extra yards. Don't eat out a few nights you normally would, etc etc. I don't know your particular situation but you catch my drift I hope .... -
Thanks! I still haven't figured out why the frames drop when moving both secondary monitors to the 2nd card. I really haven't even messed with the setup since I got it working last winter. I'll probably mess with it some more once they release DCS A-10C.

Here are the latest pics of the pit. I cut new sides for it and mounted them on hinges so it can fit through doorways and also not take up so much space when I'm not using it. I plan on boxing the frame in to make it look a little neater, and painting the frame gray and staining the visible wood black. To make it easier to move around, there is a large handle on the back. I'm going to add wheels to the front so you can lift it up the back and the front will be on the wheels. (think wheelbarrow) The seat cushions are from a regular roll-around office chair. The bottom cushion is mounted onto the metal frame from a pressure washer. The pressure washer frame also makes up the handle on the back. It actually worked out really well!

Very nice setup Gadroc. I have all the same questions as above. :) Also, can you hint to us whether or not ED fixed the multiplayer screen issues while using multiple monitors (blackshark).

Great start! I'll be watching. I hope to get some work done on mine over the weekend also.

Great work! I know a guy in Houston that flys AF and DCS. His callsign on here is Machinegun. He is working on a Mig-29 pit. Do you know him by chance?
