  1. Since a ton of AI aircraft are being remodeled/updated, I figured I’d shoot out the names of some aircraft that would make the airspaces inside of DCS a bit more “congested”. US Military: E-8 JSTARS (Basically A/G AWACS, ELINT) KC-10A (Tanker) RC-135V/W Rivet Joint (ELINT) RQ-4B Global Hawk/RQ-4C Triton (Maybe just make it RQ-4 with 2 different liveries for Navy and Air Force) C-12 Huron/RC-12 (Logistics and ELINT) C-20/C-37 Gulfstream (Logistics) C-2 Greyhound (Carrier Logistics) P-3 Orion/EP-3 (ASW, ELINT, Logistics) Civilian: Boeing 737-800 Airbus A320ceo Basically, I found that not every scenario needs to be an all out war, and logistic aircraft in the theater that are just flying around and not loaded to the brim with missiles is a key part of any deployment/campaign where it’s not peer vs peer. Please add any other logistic aircraft, civilian aircraft, etc to this postthat you think would be great to have in DCS outside of missile slingers and basic aircraft we have had forever
  2. TLDR: our tomcat doesn’t have the upgraded systems that the real jet had to carry them
  3. And another one on top of that, the Ky-28 encryption functionality with single crew would be awesome to have for multiplayer when you only have jester
  4. As the title sounds, having a Jester menu option to change IFF codes and turn on/off certain mode functions would be great, and here is why: 1. Jester currently has M4 off during normal startup, and keeps it off throughout the sortie, and this results in other aircraft's IFF not getting friendly returns through their datalink 2. My group is considering implementing IFF codes into our deployments, and part of that is using LotATC to automatically recognize specific codes to display mission type, package number, etc. for specific aircraft/flights and part of the discussion inevitably ended up being that Jester crewed tomcats would just read (00)0000 with no indication of what that aircraft is, are they a friendly, what it's mission type is, or what his package he is a part of. 3. Further development of IFF inside of DCS may call for this at some point, and having Jester be able to set it up now for single human crewed tomcats may make life easier for the future. 4. Switches are already working and have values set to each, just an action to change it from the front seat as a "Jester" pilot would be helpful for multiplayer. Implementation A default IFF code can be considered, or remained at (00) 0000 for mode 1 and mode 3. Changing IFF codes could be done through the F-14 kneeboard, similar to how laser codes are changed, or can be done through the Jester menu. Jester default start up turns M4 Preset IFF codes can be done in the mission editor in the "additional options" section.
  5. You don't get fuel flow from afterburner
  6. It initially was worn off, then they added labels back to it, and then now it looks to be reverted
  7. I’d recommend messing with the pulse video switch, pulse gain, etc to magnify returns. A contact can be super faint on the DDD in pulse if you don’t adjust your display accordingly
  8. Title is as it sounds. With the speedbrake out, it does not automatically retract when the throttle goes into MIL. In the image attached, note the throttle setting and the speedbrake position. Inside the cockpit, my throttle was all the way to 100% without being in burner, and the speedbrake remained out until I went through the afterburner gate.
  9. Use your peripheral vison to get it in the basket. If you keep your eyes on the basket pod itself, it usually helps. Make sure your wing are in bomb mode, as it reduces roll rate and increases stability. Whenever you think about making a stick movement, half that stick movement. Another thing you can do to help overcorrecting, is see how little of stick movement you can do to get the basket. Hold your stick with your thumb and index finger and just barely make adjustments.
  10. SAM rings and Detection circles can make the ME very crowded. The idea is to add the same filter like the F10 map into the ME, and make big IADS and SAM networks easier to design and work around. Take my screenshot above for example: large amounts of SAMs covering a large vicinity with all of their search radar rings everywhere.
  11. They pulled back on the stick. This is a Vietnam era built jet, not some Russian bullshit.
  12. Nobody “needs” it. It is just easier for navigation. It’s not like the NS430 even interacts with the tomcat anyway
  13. It's great to see tomcat guys just shootin' the shit about the fun things they did in the cat.
  14. Do 12000 - pylon weight (Phoenix rails, LAU-92, and weapon weight. A 4-2-2 will show around 4200 bring back if nothing is shot, and a 1-0-2 with a full tunnel of GBU-12s is around 7550 bring back. This all makes sure you are under 54K. The 12K number is for tHe F-14B
  15. It’s an O for “Observable Error” meaning the jet has detected something wrong with your alignment. Make sure you keep your parking brake set and make sure l the proper coords are getting entered into the jet
  16. Had the same thing happen to me. You just need to change how you fly with DLC.
  17. Asking jester to tell you a number? Seems a bit pointless. Having it on the kneeboard would be better. ”GTOW-“ ”Max Trap Weight- 4400 lbs of gas”
  18. Just messed with the new Forrestal in some Case Is, and I noticed that with DLC out, the nose climbs considerably compared to what it was. It's interesting to see my muscle memory with the aft DLC not working anymore, seeing as how the nose goes the complete opposite way. It's definitely weird to have DLC aft and foward both put the nose up
  19. The preset TACAN for the F-14B Forrestal Case I instant action is still preset to the stennis tacan on 74X.
  20. From the docs I’m reading, the ASW-27B is what we have, and the F-14D got the Charlie variant of it
  21. Also, TALOS missile detected at 120nm
