Oh gotcha, so we technically have it on currently in DCS as it stands?

The PARAMP, parametric amplifier switch allows for manual control of the parametric amplifier which is used to amplify weaker targets in all radar modes. Normally the WCS controls when to use the PARAMP depending on range but if tracking an unusually strong target it can be used to disable PARAMP to lessen the effect from background noise. If set to off manually it lessens the detection range by approximately 35%. Curious if/when this is going to be implemented. Would be nice to detect the smaller targets earlier in the timeline like cruise missiles, small fighters.

Makes me wonder if the early stages of the AWG-9 had 1800 KTAS and later software updated to something higher?
-
Hey dude, it was in the patch notes. HB changed the RCS of AIM-7 and AIM-54 and are now picked up by the AWG-9. Not a bug
-
The video and title is self explanatory. So much for dynamic lofting.

I agree, it seems realistic in the Pulse sense, but the PD aspect switch thing makes it a real pain. Might as well just shoot a sparrow at the missile, at the range I had to, for the phoenix to reliably track. The Tu-22 could have just gotten 80nm closer because he knows I won't be able to do jack crap to his missiles til ~20nm
-
Only was able to pick the AS-4 Kitchen up in Pulse at 48nm. Couldn't ever see it in any PD mode regardless of how slow I got. Real pain in the ass if you ask me.

The DATA TRANS function and it’s real purpose
BreaKKer replied to BreaKKer's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I guess the question still stands, what was used to set lost TWS tracks to newly created ones? -
Help! Shore take off and damage flaps
BreaKKer replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It wasn't done for airfield takeoffs. Carrier takeoffs, they were thrown up in the clearing turn for CASE I conditions. -
With the DCS AWG-9 and it’s infamous ability inside the F-14 community to lose TWS tracks out of nowhere, a lot of talk has gone into manually assigning previously lost TWS tracks to newly found TWS tracks. Part of this discussion was the DATA TRANS function found in the TGT DATA CAP category. The Heatblur manual describes it as follows, “The DATA TRANS (Data Transfer) function enables a hooked jam strobe to be correlated with another hooked track symbol. This is used to allow the WCS to better use both data sources to track the target. The strobe needs to be hooked before the symbol. Currently not implemented.” With this description, it can interpreted that it is used in JAM STROBE situations, and not in loss TWS track situations. To wrap up the actual meaning behind this forum post, the main questions I have as well as some squadron mates have is, what was it’s function in real life, it’s future function in DCS, and how were lost TWS tracks were dealt with in real life?

54 not guiding on track-hold contacts.
BreaKKer replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in Bugs and Problems
Another thing, phoenixes don’t go active on track hold contacts either. -
Was watching this video, and started to think how it compared to the video export for our F-14 in DCS, and realized the dot that is in the middle of the wide FOV TCS view is not present in the real footage, as well as not being present at all in the normal 1st person view in the cockpit. Even though the video didn't show narrow FOV, The narrow FOV still shrinks the crosshairs down to a dot, to the point where VID is not possible at range because of the dot. Was curious whether this was intentional in the output of the TCS footage, or just an inaccuracy.

Your closure rate was probably so high that the aspect switch was required to get the contact on the DDD

You have ACLS selected. Switch HUD and VDI to ILS. Also, switch ICLS channel to the carrier

1. Pilot selects role in "Select Role" Menu. Pilot can go to briefing page, but NOT hit "FLY". 2. RIO selects role and awaits pilot to accept RIO into the slot. 3. Once accepted into the jet, RIO will hit "FLY" in the briefing menu 4. Pilot hits "FLY" in the briefing menu. Result: Wings in 68 degree position for both pilot and RIO.

Nah, they defend at the top of the Phoenix’s loft

No F-14 changes in the 2.7.1.6430 OpenBeta update?
BreaKKer replied to Thundercat710's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Just wait for the forum post from them. They usually say something along the lines of; Our F-14 and Viggen patches didn't make it into the notes. Here they are -

What HOTAS do you have? I've found that the X56 has ghost inputs occasionally.

Seeing that the A-6 is coming to DCS, I was curious when/if we were going to start seeing some of the other variants of the TALD, such as the ADM-141B which dispensed chaff, and the ADM-141C ITALD which had a motor on it, which was actually used to saturate airspace over Baghdad in Desert Storm. All 3 variants of the TALD could and can be used on the F/A-18 as well.

AI instantly reacts to ARH missile launch
BreaKKer replied to Arctic Fox's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Any update on this for today’s patch? -
I was curious if HB added the functionality for weight on wheels AWG-9 operation? I know it's a thing in the 4 RIO training missions, but I was curious whether the RADAR TEST switch was accessible to everyone? I was wanting to use it with a buddy of mine to teach him some things without getting off of the ground.

Look up Iran-Iraq war. Iranian F-14s got a very VERY good PK rate with the 54A mk47s even with its degraded CCM and ECCM
