  1. Usually video card upgrades are not the answer. In your case, however, it would be a good idea. Get at least a 6600GT. More system memory wouldn't hurt but you should be OK with just 1 Gig. A Conroe rig with an FX 5200 is like a Ferrari with lawnmower wheels on it.
  2. Tropikal, ask youself this: What capabilities does the LOMAC F-15 have that it shouldn't have? Then reverse the question: What capabilities should the LOMAC F-15 have that it doesn't have? Ask those questions about each fighter and see where you end up.
  3. Poll choices are too weird. :punch:
  4. Marking things.
  5. That's not realistic. You need guys with sledgehammers and gasoline standing by.
  6. It's a matter of prioritizing the systems you want modelled and how in depth you want to see them. The two reasons I voted realism "lite" was that current and foreseeable future technology simply can't recreate the complexity involved in flight, avionics, weaponry, etc. Secondly, the LOMAC community is small enough without making it tougher for a newcomer to get a foothold on the learning curve. My first priorities would be realistic weaponry and then AFM. It's a long list after that. I would love to see the F-15's MFD actually be an MFD. ATC and AWACS need a lot of work. Avionics in general could be greatly improved as far as complexity/reality. Although I don't see a need for general improvement in graphics, there are a couple of "glitches" that I would like to see addressed. Namely, burning ground objects and fog. But those are way down the list for me.
  7. Try this and see if you can tell the difference.
  8. You can't snip off from the start of a track, you can only snip the end. You'll have to let it run to the point you want to begin you project. However you can copy it and do your track edits seperately.
  9. Nanoman, which Conroe CPU are you getting?
  10. Pilotasso, the 9800 pro is going to kill your score. Just remember how much all these guys paid for their 7900/x1900 GPUs and how much they help with LOMAC.
  11. -razor-, how do you know this business? Do you have any experience as a pilot or crew for fighter aircraft?
  12. G forces are not the only forces to consider. To the pilot 8Gs is 8Gs. The force of drag is increased by the square of the velocity. While the increased drag area would be larger for a plane at 400 MPH pulling 8Gs, drag area isn't squared in the drag equation. If an 8G turn at 1800 MPH creates drag forces that are applied to the airframe in places that are not designed to take those kinds of forces, bad things might be possible. Rhen would be a good source for whether or not G limits are in place for very high speed flight.
  13. Yes, the tests gets progressively harder each year. And with an older graphics card you are going to get a really low score. Especially with an ATI card that doesn't support pixel shader 3.0. This overall test in no way translates directly to LOMAC performance. CPU scores should be given much more weight in determining the overall score to translate to LOMAC performance.
  14. 1399 3500+ @ 2.55Ghz X800XL @ 426 MHz / 526 MHz
  15. LOMAC's AI sucks at eye color guessing too.
  16. Looks like somebody wants to be a beta-tester. :D
  17. The HARMs, ALARMs, Kh-58s and Kh-25MPUs in LOMAC call bull-shite.
  18. Holy sheet! I wonder how many of those they sell in a year.
  19. Lose a little weight and smoke less.
  20. The touchbuddy folks flying on a server with LUA export disabled?
  21. I snapped that same wingtip off once just from landing too hard. It was a flame out landing on a road and I stalled and really thought the whole thing was going to explode. So I ejected... and then landed.
  22. LOMAC has this wonderful thing called multiplayer. It lets all the aircraft be piloted by humans. At the same time! Longer than the smoke effect lasts.
  23. Maybe so, but I hadn't heard about it until tonight. I figured others might not know either.
  24. No, no, no. I didn't make them. Just a messenger.
